Reincarnation!

"Hmm.... *Yawn*"

Opening my eyes, I can see that it's time to go home. The Sun has almost set, and I do not wish to stay here till dark. This place is good for small naps like this, situated on a small hill with a lone tree, it's almost poetic.

But anyway, like I said it's not a good idea to stay till dark. Although the area near the city is relatively safe, but it's not like there is no danger at all, especially when it's dark. This world is not a peaceful modern world after all.

And how do I know about this? Because I'm not from this world. It's been 12 years since I have reincarnated in this world. Before this I was an ordinary college student, there was not much to say about me. I had a normal loving family, above-average intelligence, average looks, normal friends, and a totally ordinary life.

Even my death was ordinary, it was a simple car accident, which I admit was my fault. Look it's normal to show off when you are good at something right and that's what I was doing showing off my driving skill when I got too cocky and messed up.

Though I guess the silver lining could be that other than me no one else was hurt. I died on the spot, and not much pain was experienced, physically at least, can't say I was good mentally. After I died, I was in a black space in which I cried a lot. Hey! I had just died and lost my family, it was heart-breaking experience.

After a long time in which I had come to terms with reality, I was reborn again. It's not a pleasant experience.

Now on to this world, it seems to be a cultivation world. But it's not what I expected from a cultivation world. The living standards are somewhat modern and there doesn't seem to be a gap between cultivators and normal mortals in living conditions at least.

While taking a walk you can see people go about their business, housewives buying groceries, and even cultivators engaging in talks with normal people. To me, it seems like there is no difference in status between them.

Ah! Right, the name of this world is Ascerios, don't know what that word means. But Ascerios seems to be dozens of times larger than Earth from what I have gathered. Ascerios is divided into many continents, there were more than 25 if I remember correctly. But they are not important now, what's important is that I live on the continent of Ashblaze, which is a medium-sized continent on the western side of the planet.

There are many races living on this continent but the majority seems to be humans, as the largest kingdom on the continent is the Ashblaze Empire which is a human empire. I was born in the nobility of this empire, specifically one of the sons of Marquee FlameBird. And why do the names seem to be getting weirder? Anyway, I'm the Fourth son and Seventh child of this Marquee.

The Marquee aka my 'dad' is pretty powerful in the empire. He is given the duty to guard the southern border of the kingdom, which is important I think.

My growing years were simple, as the seventh child I was not given much attention, and most of the time I was raised by the maids. I don't mind this as I can't see this body's parents and my own. I had parents in my last life that I loved to death and I can't accept another set of parents.

Oh! while monologuing it seems I have reached the city gates.

"Hi Mark"

"Hey! Kiddo, did ya spend time playing outside as usual?"

"Yeah what else would I do, go Dragon-Slaying?"

"Haha why not, anyway It's getting late now run to the house before dark."

"ok ok"

This is Mark, a 24-year-old soldier on gate-watching duties, because I go outside from this gate regularly we have become somewhat of friends. Although considering the age gap I don't think Mark considers me a friend more like a little brother.

Anyway as I walk the streets to our house or mansion considering the size of it, I can see many stalls packing up their business to go home and many more setting up stalls for the night market. This place certainly gets lively at night, I enjoy the atmosphere of this place.

And I have reached it, our house is closer to the city gates because this city is under my father's rule. As I am about to walk inside, a voice comes from the side.

"When will you stop going out of the city?"

Hi! This is my first time writing so I know that this will not be the best or even good but I would love to get your criticism. It will help me improve after all.

That out of the way I didn't know many how to do many things like perspective, monologue, exposition etc. so if you find anything that should be edited be sure to comment.

If you have anything to ask regarding the book be sure to ask I will try to answer to the best of my abilties.

Hope you Enjoy cya!
