The Blonde Foxen

Benzaiten POV

I whirl around, where did that jab come from, instead of running into something I run into... a mattress?

"Good, you're awake, we need to chat about why you are here and who the hell you are," Cao Tai's voice says, as cheerful as his voice could be, I flip around once more, to see him sitting criss crossed at the end of the bed.

"Would you like some water, maybe some food if you're hungry?" He asks, turning around, I try to rise but my body simply doesn't respond, "Don't worry, I didn't do anything to your body, however you must wait for the paralytic arrow's effect to wear off. So, drink? Snack?" He asks again.

"I'll have some water," I say, "Very well," Cao Tai says, grabbing a cup of water and pouring it into my mouth for me, before pulling it away before I start to choke.

Cao Tai then returns to his spot at the edge of the bed, "OK, first question. Why were you where I found you?"

"Simple, I was attracted by your beautiful singing, where did you learn to sing?" I ask, flattery is the best way out of problems, and I think it worked, I spot a faint blush crawling onto his face, "Thanks, but that doesn't explain why you were in that area, because I know for a fact I wasn't singing so loud that everything could hear in a two mile radius," He responds. "Thanks for the compliment though, it's nice to hear it from someone not entirely deranged..." He says, rubbing the back of his head.

Deranged..? What does he mean? "I was... taking a walk," I say, that isn't quite too far from the truth, after all, I was walking, away from the cemetery of the former excuses of Bounty Hunters, and this man is different. Different as in he's still a failure of a Bounty Hunter but he has the talent to be amazing, and could snap his fingers and a creepy ghost lady just popped up.

"Very well, I was paying respects to people I've known and I was on my way back," I say, it isn't that big of a secret, right?

"OK, now who are you, and I don't want to know who you are literally. I mean how are you a Foxen with blonde hair," Cao Tai says.

Well that's a little more difficult, since I know why but that doesn't mean I want him to know why, after all, a sign of weakness is all he needs to get rid of me.

Well actually he would have already gotten rid of me, very easily, but still, I won't tell him any more than, "A genetic defect," I mumble, looking down, it's a piece of the truth, but not all of it, so I don't think that even if he could detect lies he would be able to figure out I knew more, right?

"You see, I bet that what you said was the truth, however, it was probably not the whole truth. For that reason, you do not have to say more, however, I will not let you leave until you give a larger portion of the truth," He stands up, and walks to the divider, exiting the room.

Cao Tai POV

This isn't good, now I have another person I have to keep an eye on, and hopefully Violet doesn't end up going crazy, because then I really would be dead, or at least chained to a bed, like Benzaiten

.

Speaking of which, where should I sleep tonight?

I know I could sleep on the ground, and I know I used to, but that doesn't mean I would make a habit of it! I would much rather sleep in a bed, but who's?

I know Lantla is off the list considering how I would probably be eaten by one of the leech-like contraptions again, and if I slept with Sasha I would probably feel drained from what she would be doing while I'm sleeping, which would be milking me dry.

Or Violet... who would most likely do nothing aside from smother me in between those breasts~ "No! You mustn't think like that!" I whisper to myself, quickly wiping my saliva away.

Maybe sleeping on the ground is the better plan…

Before I could think anymore I could hear the 'gates' doors open, creaking the door open, I see Violet marching through with... a bow on her back?

What?

She decided to become an archer as well? That's not good, that means I don't have anyone holding the line, since I doubt that someone like Sasha actually trains to knock out 10 enemies per second, probably more like... 1 significantly more powerful person per minute.

"Good Afternoon, Master~" Violet said softly, as if she wasn't trying to attract too much attention, even her moves were small, which was very unusual.

"Hello Violet, where have you been? And why are you carrying a bow?" I ask, nodding towards the bow.

"i-I wanted to thank you for getting me an awesome sword… and also to thank you for being an awesome person!" Violet says with a little fire in her eyes.

"I'm sorry Violet, but I'm not a nice person, not to you, not to Sasha, not to Jess. I'm not someone who deserves this bow either, give it to someone who has your heart, not your infatuation," I say, suddenly feeling so cold inside, why? I said the truth, even though it's hard and heavy. Like a boulder.

A boulder in my soul… [Ah god… I feel like I'm a poet, I need to cut this out!]

Violet placed her hand on my shoulder and squatted down to my height, "Don't say that to yourself, Master. I wouldn't rather have you anyway, so don't you dare change," Violet says, squeezing my shoulder, it wasn't enough to break it but it still was enough to hurt. Her aura and expression was serious, and dangerous.

And was that a threat? "I try to stay the same, Violet. But I'll put an effort into not changing, just for you," I say kindly, winking before lifting her hand off my shoulder.
