1 Chapter 1 Adventurer Online

"Adventurer Online!" a boy who was known as Gabriel shouted and attracted the attention of people, he quickly lowered his voice and kept his head down.

"Yes stop shouting, tomorrow I'm buying the VR helmet" Alex said smiling.

Alex was a 20 years old college student, he has stunning facial features, with his delicate eyebrows and smooth looking skin, his black curly hair waves when the wind blows by.

This fact didn't go unnoticed as girls and women would stare at him when he passes wishing they had a boyfriend or a son like him.

"How did you save money to buy that?" Gabriel asked Alex.

"I worked hard for it, I worked two jobs and besides it's the lowest rank I'm buying" Alex sighed as he remembered the stress he went through to get money for the game.

"Even though it's the lowest rank, it still cost 1,000 dollars" Gabriel spoke before a sound made both of them to turn around.

"Adventurer Online has become the highest played game In the world in just a month of release, how did you guys make that happen?" a female news anchor asked with an eager face.

Alex and Gabriel stopped to look at the Large screen on a skyscraper along with many other passenger.

The screen showed a popular face, a celebrity that was neither an actor nor was he a singer, but he was the owner of the VR company that produced the most popular and highest played game called Adventurer Online.

"Well it's all due to the hard work that everyone at the company put in, their sleepless night was not in vain" the young man spoke with calm and clear composure.

"We now have over a billion players worldwide" the man spoke.

"A billion players worldwide!, damn that's so cool" Gabriel said as he looked at the screen wishing he was the one that was being interviewed.

"And tomorrow I'm going to join that 1 billion players" Alex closed his eyes and breathe in the cool air that blew around the city.

"We should get going, we don't want to be late" Alex told Gabriel and they both continued walking, Alex turned to take a look at the screen one last time and an Ad of the game was shown, a player was battling with a dragon.

Alex smiled and kept walking towards his destination.

Cool breeze blew in the city of Woodpine, lofty skyscraper soar towards the sky in monotonous pattern, captivating and mesmerizing, the people in the street were going about their daily life.

The city of Woodpine was famous for it landmark, a large garden of pine tree stood tall with over 20 trees in the centre of the city, tourist often come to the city just to see the sight.

"Hey Alex" a woman greeted him.

"Good evening miss rose" Alex greeted back before entering his apartment.

Alex was your normal college student, bright but not straight A, just some few B and C, he lived alone in a small apartment rented and paid for by his parents.

He attends the Woodpine college which was slightly far from his apartment. Alex sat down greedily munching on the burger and chips he bought on his way home.

'Am i really going to spend a thousand dollar to buy the VR helmet, or I should just leave it...no I've already made up my mind to buy it tomorrow' Alex laid down on his bed with his phone after eating, eventually he drifted off to sleep.

VRMMORPG: Adventurer Online was launched in November 26 2022, the game was widely played with an estimate number of players of almost a billion since it release.

All rich people had quickly followed the trend and bought a VR helmet of the highest grade and played the game.

From what people were saying, the game was extremely difficult and you can't use real life money to purchase in game items, you can only strive and work for the items, but it was still an enjoyable game.

Alex had watched life streams from people who had played the game and it was wonderful, he had been saving and working part time jobs just to join the trend and play Adventurer Online.

The VR helmet can be used by a single user and if the user was killed in the game, he would have to buy another VR helmet, the VR helmet used in Adventurer was very different from others.

*Boom*

"Alex run" a woman shouted.

"Mum" Alex shouted back, "Mum I'm not leaving you, mum mum"

Alex body jerked up from the bed and he breathed heavily, he looked around his apartment let out a sigh of relief.

"Just a nightmare" Alex sighed and yawned weakly, a bright light shined through his window and illuminated his apartment.

The left over from what he ate last night was still on the ground, he quickly stood up from the bed and arranged his bed, picked his left over and took them to the garage.

Alex had always loved clean environment, he always wash his clothes, ironed them and hanged them in his wardrobe.

He never leaves his room dirty and unattended to, that was one of the things his parents loved about him.

Alex carefully arranged his room before proceeding to the kitchen to fix something for himself, after eating he took his bath, the warm water calmed his body as he dipped himself in the tub.

He had finished his semester at the college and he was now on break, and planning to enter the world of Adventurer Online.
