Mana Core Replenished

"Yes," He finally responded after a brief moment of silence.

They all showed looks of relief as they heard that.

"I just need to prepare and every one of you has to follow my plans when the time comes," Landria added.

"Whatever you need we will do our best to assist and we're sorry for earlier," One of them with a buff stature voiced out.

-----

Earlier today after Landria had defeated all the bandits, he sent the two he knocked out on their way.

He didn't deal serious injuries to those two he found in front of Laura's house so they woke up a bit later tied up.

Landria told them to get out of here with their injured comrades and never come back.

He had dealt serious injuries to the ones he fought earlier but he didn't kill any of them, including the leader.

The only dead person was Chrysler, the bandit Fabian killed himself.

The two who were barely injured, made use of the wolves to get the rest out of town before they could bleed to death.

After the whole incident came to an end, the townfolks reacted in an unexpected manner.

Half of them were against what had just happened and how Landria left the bandits with so many injuries.

They said this would trigger the Usurpers to come back and attack this town at full force. According to them, they would not be able to defend themselves, then they would truly lose everything.

The other half were grateful to Landria for what he had done but what the others had mentioned was truly a problem that could not be overlooked. They had survived today but would they be able to survive the next time.

It turned into a debate and some of them even mentioned how Landria was scary with the way he let loose. There were a lot of talks about how a teenager could be so vicious and where did he come from.

Someone even suggested Landria be used as a scapegoat when the Usurpers arrived the next time.

Landria reacted by telling the town folks that he would be able to protect them if they were ever ambushed by the Usurpers in the future.

They all laughed at him telling him he was a fool and didn't know how large the Usurpers bandit groups were.

The ones he had seen today were only a tip of the iceberg and they had an even larger force situated in another location.

They had forgotten that just a while ago they were ready to let loose when the Usurpers made their demands and wanted to take kids away.

Laura was starting to see the whole thing as ridiculous and lashed out at the town folks.

She and Arthril stood up for Landria, telling the others that they should be ashamed of themselves for bearing such thoughts for their savior.

After lashing out, she took Landria back to her house to prepare a meal for him to eat in appreciation.

Landria was even suggesting to her that he left town. He was sure he could survive on his own but Laura didn't agree with this.

It would seem the town folks saw Landria as their only hope for defending the town if they were ever ambushed again in the future so they came back to ask if he could truly protect them as he said earlier.

---

In a flash, a few more days went by and the tension due to the Usurpers incident within Riverbeak town began to slowly die down.

The news had spread to the neighboring towns as well and Landria became a discussed topic.

People were curious as to where he came from and how a teenager was able to defeat a group of bandits that had been terrorizing the towns at the edge of Asaruis Kingdom for years.

Wherever Landria went in the town he always gathered attention to himself and lots of kids were always staring with admiration but also staying away from him.

On this particular day, Landria was sitting on the rooftop of the bell tower again while the mana in the environment was gathering around him.

His eyes were closed as he kept absorbing mana slowly.

This had been his daily routine since the incident with the bandits. Landria noticed that he had internal injuries again when came here the day after the incident.

He had no idea where the internal injuries came from since he was barely harmed after he took that strange form.

He made use of mana to heal himself the day after the incident and for the past few days, he had been coming here to replenish his mana core.

It had been his daily routine and just like before, he would spend the entire day here till it was night.

Just as he predicted, it would take multiple days before he could fill his mana core.

If he could use mana at will earlier, the battle with the bandits would have been easier to deal with.

They were only able to use level one and two basic spells and their strength was pretty ordinary.

This was why Landria was sure that if they came back he would be able to handle them so long as his mana was completely replenished.

The issue of low mana in the town was still a problem since making use of spells with higher power would deplete more mana. If he ended up making use of the mana in his mana core completely, it would still take a lot of time to replenish.

As the skies turned dark, Landria finally opened his eyes.

'Finally, my mana core is filled,' He thought with a smile.

He jumped off the top of the bell tower while waving his hand.

Wwhooossshhh~

A small gust of wind spread across the vicinity and concentrated around him, reducing the speed of his descent.

The moment he landed on the ground, Viktor and Orion arrived on the scene.

"Let's go," Landria was the one who voiced out this time since he was already done.

The two of them nodded with smiles and turned around to head into town.

While walking past a street, Landria spotted someone peeping out from behind a house on the left.

The instant they made eye contact, the person quickly pulled back to hide.

"Hmm?" Landria paused his footsteps and continued staring in that direction.

It was easier to hide since the skies were already getting dark.

"You two go on without me, I'll catch up" Landria stated and turned to the side while taking steps forward.

He arrived behind the small house and looked around but could only see small bushes and a four feet tall rock protruding from the ground several feet away.

"I know you're behind the rock... come out," Landria said while turning to face the rock.

There was no response.

"Stop hiding or I'll come to get you myself," Landria stated once again.

After a few moments, a head popped up from behind the small rock.

First, it was just the eyes of this person that was visible, then they slowly stood up revealing the rest of their facial features and figure.

"Hmm?" Landria was a bit surprised as he saw the face of this person.

It happened to be a 5'3 tall girl with long red hair mixed with a hint of blue and silver. She had a slim figure, with well-defined busts for a teenager.

Although just like the other town folks her dress was looking shabby, her beauty wasn't. If she was well taken care of, she would look like a porcelain doll.

She seemed to be around fourteen to fifteen years of age. One of the few kids in the town that was close to being agemates with Landria.

Landria recognized seeing her before but he never really paid heed to anyone in town so they had never spoken before even though she was the prettiest girl in town.

"Tch okay you caught me, what now?" She voiced out with a pout while folding her arms.

"Why do you keep stalking me? I know it was you those other nights too," Landria asked with a confounded tone.

"Who was stalking you? it wasn't me," She said while turning to the side.

"Hmm?" Landria's eyes squinted with a hint of suspiciousness.

"You think I'm a fool eh? I will let this one slide, don't be so creepy next time," Landria stated before turning around to leave.

"Who are you calling creepy? I'm not creepy you..." She voiced out while pointing at Landria with a defiant tone.

"Sure," Landria mumbled while walking away from the scene without turning around.

"You..." Her face showed confusion as she saw him leave.

"Hey hold on," She yelled out and ran after him.
