Her Boyfriend

"Man, you shouldn't have acted violently toward her. She's a girl after all," Zane said to Allen as they headed back to the hostel.

"Why? What does it have to do with her being a girl?" Allen asked him with a frown.

"Come on, we don't harm girls, it's against the law of nature. Besides, hurting her will only make you an enemy of her boyfriend. You wouldn't want him coming for you, right?"

Allen scoffed and replied. "I don't care if it's against the law to put a girl in her place and I don't still care if hurting her made me her boyfriend's enemy. If the guy is wise, he should talk to his girlfriend instead of coming at me."

Zane has learned that trying to talk sense into Allen was a waste of time and so he didn't get upset it frustrated about it. He only sighed and hoped that he doesn't get himself into trouble with anyone again. Soon, they got to their hostel and the two went their different ways.

As soon as Allen got to his room door, he saw Sam standing and waiting for him. Surprisingly, he didn't walk up to him and stood a distance away from him.

"Wh-what do you want from me?" He asked the young man.

Sam smiled and offered to go close to him since he didn't want to come nearer. "Are you now scared of me? I didn't want it to be like this, my brother forced me to be in class today," he replied to Allen.

"The Dean is your brother?" Allen asked him.

"Yes, sadly," Sam replied and chuckled at Allen's surprised face. "Don't get too surprised yet, there are many things you don't know that will make you more surprised in the future."

"I'll keep that in mind," Allen replied.

"Don't you have anything to say to me? Or perhaps ask me?" Sam asked him with his brows raised.

"I just want to know what you want from me. Coming close, doing stuff for me... I can't help but feel that there is an ulterior motive behind all that. I hate to say this but I'm pretty good at returning favors be it good or evil," Allen said with a dead serious face. Anyone in his shoes would certainly feel the same way he was and Sam could understand where he was going.

"Honestly, I don't have any ulterior motive behind my actions. You piqued my interest the moment I saw you and since then, I can't help but want to help you in the best way I can. Is my presence bothering you? Just feel free and pretend like I'm not here, just let me do my thing," Sam replied.

"The more you sound honest, the more I feel bad about this. Never mind, I need to rest for a bit," Allen said to him and went to open his door. "Don't forget what I said about returning favors," he added and then went into his room and shut the door afterward.

"Returning favors, huh? We'll see how that goes," Sam mumbled with a smirk and then walked away.

Meanwhile, on another side of the hostel, a young boy with blue hair walked to a door and knocked on it. Soon, it was pushed open, revealing another boy with red hair and green eyes.

"What do you want?" The red-haired boy asked the one who knocked on his door.

"Nat, you've been indoors the whole of today and you are unaware that your girlfriend isn't well," the blue-haired boy replied.

Hearing that his girlfriend wasn't well, Nat's face squeezed in a frown. "Come in," he said to the boy and moved aside to let him enter the room. He closed the door behind him and headed to his seat where he sat down and faced the boy.  "So... What is wrong with Rain?" He asked him.

"She got beaten by the new kid and is in the school infirmary now," the boy replied.

"You mean the one who got into a fight yesterday with Matthew?" Nat asked him.

"Yes, that's him. He really dealt with your brother so much, I can't believe the kid is that strong," the boy replied causing Nat to scoff.

"That's because he's a weak ass. That kid doesn't stand a chance against me, that I'm sure about," he said with a confident look.

"By the way, you haven't gone to see your brother since yesterday. Don't you want to know how he's doing?"

"And why should I? Since when did we become so close that I would go see him simply because he got beaten up? That served him right, you know?" Nat replied.

"Mmmm, everyone in the school knows how much you love each other," the boy said sarcastically and laughed at his joke.

"When you are done making fun of me, you take the door," Nat said to him and went to lie on his bed.

"Huh? Aren't you going to see your girlfriend?" The boy asked him, seeing that he wasn't eager or bothered about his girlfriend.

"Come on, she's old enough to take very good care of herself. I'm no babysitter," Nat replied.

"Your arrogance and that of the new kid is on par, I tell you," the boy said to him.

"What do you mean?" Nat asked him.

"You both are arrogant and overly confident at the same time," the boy explained.

"Hmm, is that true?" Nat asked, seeming interested.

"I don't make false evaluations," the boy replied.

"Now that you mentioned it, I'll like to pay him a surprise visit," Nat said and stood up.

"You want to visit him? What for?" The boy asked him.

"Just want to see what he looks like and also find out if you are telling me the truth, James," Nat replied.

James scoffed and frowned. "I don't lie, you know about it. Besides, meeting the kid now is like asking him for trouble," he said.

"Are you also scared of him? Where is your confidence, James?" Nat asked, pretending to be disappointed in his friend. He got up and put on a dress while James kept staring at him without saying a word. "Since you don't want to talk, I'll take it as a yes that you are scared of him as well," he added and opened the door.

"I'll come with you," James said and followed after his friend. One could say that he was eager to know the outcome of the visit.
