Done And Dusted

With a sigh, Allen got up and faced the woman who had tears in her eyes. "Say whatever you want to say to your daughter," he said to her and only then was she able to open her mouth again.

"Rain child, I'm —"

"Hold on, do that but wait until I leave. I don't want to end up getting emotional," he said, interrupting the old lady's speech.

"A-are you leaving?" Rain turned and asked him with a sad face. It was obvious that she didn't want him to leave, at least not anytime soon.

"Or what? I have to return to school before midnight," he replied.

"Can you stay over? We'll go back tomorrow morning," Rain persisted.

"It is not wise for a man who isn't your lover to spend the night with you. I am a man of principle and I won't do anything that is against it," he replied and left the dining. "I should give you family a moment for yourselves, I've done what I came to do, and my stay here is no longer necessary. Bye," he added and left the house. While he was heading to the gate, the elder son rushed out of the house and ran toward him.

"Please, hold on," the young man waved at him.

Allen then stopped and turned around. "Yes? What can I do for you?" He asked him

The young man sighed heavily and wiped his wet eyes. "I'm embarrassed just standing before you. All these years, my little sister was being maltreated because she refused to marry young Master Lucifer, and I as an elder brother couldn't do anything about it, I am deeply ashamed," he said with a heavy heart.

"If you want to make it up to her, begin now to support her. This is all she would want from you," Allen replied to him and turned and left. As the bodyguard opened the gate for him, he too couldn't help but thank Allen because according to him, he was the first and the only person who had succeeded in helping his first Miss. Standing outside the mansion, Allen heaved a deep sigh as he stared at the empty road. "Don't tell me that I'd have to trek back to school," he mumbled with a hopeless gaze in his eyes.

He had thought that it was still a bit early and was rushing to go back to school before midnight because it would be impossible to get a taxi once midnight comes. But little did he know that he had spent a lot of time solving Rain's family issues. "I shouldn't have shared with them that story, I ended up wasting my time there," he grumbled with an angry face. He was not angry at anything but at the fact that he used his story to solve the problem at hand which ended up taking all his time. "Now, I'll have to trek back to school, argh!" He grunted and ruffled his black hair.

He looked left and right, the road was empty with dim street lights and the sounds of birds and crickets filling the air. "Never mind, I'll do it," he sighed and began to walk in the direction they followed earlier. As he walked a distance away from Rain's family mansion, his nose caught a foul smell which made him frown. "What a bad smell this is," he grunted while covering his nose. Because he was a vampire, he couldn't stop the smell from passing through his nostrils no matter how hard he tried to cover them.

He thought the smell to be just passing by but as he kept walking, the smell just kept increasing, causing him to have difficulty in breathing properly.

"Help! Somebody, help me!" He suddenly heard a shout coming from a dark alley. He halted and waited to listen to the voice. "Help me, please!" The female voice cried weakly.

"I should ignore whatever is happening there because it's not my business but the stench is also coming from the same direction as the voice. Should I go and check it out or not?" He mumbled to himself. After standing there for some time, he sighed and turned to leave but just then, he received a system message.

*Ding*

[Kill the vampire rogue and obtain a new skill]

"A vampire rogue?" He asked as he halted. "What is that? System, explain that to me," he requested his system.

[Vampire rogues are turned vampires that weren't able to control their insatiable desire for blood thereby turning them into mindless vampires who go out searching for blood as well as flesh]

"Flesh? Do they also feed on flesh?" Allen was surprised to hear that these vampires feed on flesh.

[They are no longer vampires but living monsters, they eat anything they think is food as well as dead or rotten flesh]

"Hence the stench smell?" Allen mumbled with a displeased look. "I would have rejected this task but I can't help but imagine what my next ability would be, maybe a mind reading or a teleportation?"

[Kill the vampire rogue now before it kills anyone!]

"I know, I know," Allen muttered and went in the direction where the vampire rogue was. On getting to that place, he sighted a male figure above a young girl. The only difference between the male figure and a normal human is the protruding spinal cord that stretched from its head down to the waistline. "What in the world is that?" He muttered to himself. As soon as he talking, the figure turned and saw him. "Oops, it has seen me," he said with a surprised tone and watched the figure to see what it would do next.

Surprisingly, the vampire rogue who had the face of a human male simply ignored him and went ahead to do what it had wanted to do, that is feasting on the girl.

"Did it just ignore me?" Allen asked, seeming surprised.

[That's because it knows you are also a vampire]

Hearing the system's reply, he now understood why the vampire rogue ignored him completely. ' What he said was actually true ' He thought, referring to what Nat told him about vampires not killing each other. "I don't care if they are vampires or not, I'll kill anyone that crosses paths with me," he said and returned his gaze to the vampire rogue. "Hey, stop right there!" He ordered as he began walking toward it. The vampire rogue stopped and turned to look at him, it tilted its head while staring angrily at him.

As he was some space away from the vampire rogue, Allen halted without going any further. "Let the human go, come at me," he offered. The vampire rogue could understand what he was saying although it can't speak, it soon got irritated by Allen's interference and turned around to face him.

"What? Are you angry that I'm stopping you from feasting?" Allen asked it. "I'm going to kill you right now, what choice do you have?" He asked again with a scoff.

Hearing that it was going to be killed, the vampire rogue grunted and rushed to attack Allen. Its movement was fast and subtle despite how bent over it was, and Allen was somewhat finding it difficult to keep up with the pace. Before he realized what was happening, it was already behind him and was about to carry out a sneak attack on him.
