8 VI: Thoughts

Matthews ruffled his hair before going inside. He wasn't able to tell Lewis that he could have just brought his pets over. He forgot to remind him of the fact that he just said that to him a while ago.

So, to say, they both forgot. Matthew then just smiled to himself waiting for his first friend to arrive.

Meanwhile as Lewis hurriedly walked back home, his beating heart just pounded right out of his chest. Even so, he just noticed how happy he was when he got back. The mirror showed him his happy, blushing face that looked pleasantly surprised.

Lewis giggled to himself. Feeling the giddy butterflies that erupted in. It was weird, so so weird. He shouldn't be feeling this way! He just met the guy and with a few moments of interaction here he is, so full of joy.

He raced upstairs and decided to pick out a much more presentable clothing but which one should he choose? Hoodie and shorts? A flannel top paired with a plain t-shirt and denim pants?

"Wait why am I dressing up? For goodness sake, we are just having dinner. I shouldn't try to look too much of it." That is what he said but then he sighed and decided to change into black sweatpants and grey hoodie that has a 'love me please' print.

But Lewis was too busy tidying himself up to ever notice what was written. Then again, it wasn't a large text - just enough to add a minimalistic touch to the hoodie.

"Alright then." He looked satisfied with his look and wore a pair of slides and headed to the kitchen to feed his dogs. "Wait a minute, didn't Matthew say I could bring them over?"

He shrugged. "Nah, I'll just bring you guys over if they want to. You'll like him too guys." He talked to his pets. He refilled their water bowl and kissed their foreheads before going out. He might need the extra luck they bring today.

He checked himself out one more time at the hallway's wall mirror and gave himself a thumbs up. He looked alright, there was nothing to be worried about. Even when he tried to give himself confidence being brought over to their home for dinner is making him nervous.

The fact that he rarely ate with his parents and he got to share a good meal with others made him excited and scared at the same time. What if he messed up? His anxiety now getting the best of him.

"Oh, come on Lewis, it's just a dinner with a couple of good people. " He squeezed both of his cheeks. "Stop! Being! So! Nervous!"

He sighed and looked back at his pets. "Guys, I'll be going now. I promise I'll be back soon!" He grabbed his keys and looked the doors and shut the gate. "Let's go..."

The lovely breeze hit his face and made his soft hair sway to its direction. He should start looking up more. "I wonder if I become for like Liam, would others like me more then?"

Being an introvert had its perks but he wanted to step out of his comfort zone and try out things he never thought of trying. Like maybe ask someone to hang out with him during the weekends or maybe invite a person to attend a book club session with him at the community library.

"So many maybe's and not one certainty."
