3 I: Faces

Lewis Walters

The alarm clock blaring loudly, with a quick swift movement of Lewis's left hand he turned it off and groggily got out of bed. The brunette still have to prepare breakfast and feed the dogs. He yawned loudly and scratched his messy hair. The silence echoing by the halls for it was still six in the morning. He has to get up extra early because for someone like him who has to go by a bus stop to get to school, he wouldn't want to be late.

August 12. Wednesday. He took out the marker beside the calendar and scratched it out. He lives alone with pets — three at that. His parents are rarely at home, they are always so busy with trips and meetings. If they're lucky, they could actually spend two days at home.

Lewis started his morning by taking a shower. The cold droplets tingled his skin. "Ugh, this is so cold." After a moment of getting used to the temperature. He cleaned himself. He had his mother's flawless, soft skin. Most of his features came from his mother. The cute eyes, a well-structured nose bridge and plump pink lips. At first glance, he could pass for a girl. It was a good thing he is kind of tall.

A good 165 centimeters at that.

He went out with a flushed face and ankle length bathrobe. He once again heads to his room to change into his uniform. He grabbed his phone and bag and headed to the kitchen.

He prepared a good meal for himself. Eggs, bacon and white rice. He took out a carton of milk inside the refrigerator and grabbed a glass. As for his pets, a bowl of dog food and added more food to the dispenser as it is running out.

As he was eating, he checked his phone for updates. Bing! The group chat is full of comments about them having a transferee. Its piqued Lewis's interest, hoping that the new kid would be great. I mean most of the transferees unless they have the looks and money get the most attention. Others? They wouldn't bat two shits about them.

After eating, he washed his plates and began to double check everything. "Alright, time to leave." He bid farewell to his pets and headed out. It was a good ten-minute walk towards the bus stop. As he reached there, he saw someone at his usual place to sit. No one in their neighborhood really went as early as he.

He sighed and sat across the man who looks kind of his age. Brown hair, borderline tan skin and quite the chiseled face. Lewis took out his phone and attached his earphones to listen to some morning music.

Fifteen minutes later the bus was heading towards their direction. Lewis stretched his limbs and huffed. He really didn't mind the presence of the man beside him. They both got inside and sat in different chairs and thus, starting out their way to school.

Not long after they reached the station and surprisingly for Lewis, the man at the bus stop is heading the same direction as him. The introverted Lewis did not bother to initiate any conversation. He liked being well-kept.

When they got inside the school, they both took on separate directions. The man headed towards the secretary's office while Lewis went to his locker. They paths will probably cross again or not. Who knows?

He was the first person to arrive inside the classroom as per usual. Most of his classmates lived near the school or had cars for easy commute, unlike his situation. Lewis then took out his favorite novel and started reading to pass out the time.

"I hope someone would take me away from here."
