Chapter 46: This Is Just the Beginning of a Long Adventure

Those words washed over me as if they were a bucket of ice water that Sammy and splashed on me when I wasn't ready. "How," I whispered as my knees buckled

"She was talking to Luke's spirit whom Kronos still controlled," Bianca began as she winced. I rushed over to her as she tried to stand, but I caught her, "I had appeared in one of the stalls with her hat on, but in this sort of IM, he still sensed that I was there watching them."

"And ordered her to attack you," I finished as she bit her lip and nodded, "we'll get through this. I promise you that we'll get her back," I began healing her with the water from the air. "I have a suggestion as our first course of action," I began toward the Olympians, "we get Calypso, and we look all over the world for your weapons. There may be a chance that they'll be with Cal, but we still should keep an eye out for them."

"Weren't they in Alaska last time," a voice asked as I looked at my father, who chuckled

"That was the god of death who was in Alaska. All the weapons from the legion that died there," he began. "When Luke stole Zeus' lightning bolt, I believe he intended to keep it moving from person to person until I confronted him about it."

"One group of people can check Alaska once again for your weapons," I began, "we need everyone we can get for this war. End is not somebody we can fight as well as you did with just Kronos and Gaea. This war will have all three of them working together. We need all legacies as well as all the partners for each member of the Seven."

"Even if that woman is a former Titaness," Hera muttered as I glanced at her, "how could you trust her even though she is the daughter of Atlas who sided with him in our first war?"

'Say what you need to, then I'm taking over because I don't want you to play messenger for what I'm about to say,' Calypso said as I opened my mouth

"She had changed her ways since then," I began, "if you hadn't noticed by her returning every hero who landed on her island, then I don't know what could prove that to you. But she has an idea, so she is taking control of me to tell you."

"Then let her speak," Athena said with a smile as I drifted to the back of my head

"Thank you, Lady Athena," Calypso began as I waited patiently, "I have been around the world helping Leo help the god of healing and prophecies with his adventure. I have been in my eldest daughter's head for almost a year. At any point, I could have controlled her to kill anyone in this room, but I haven't. I have never meant harm to those who treated me well, I do not know what it will take for me to prove it to you, but I am willing to wait and help whenever you need me."

The Olympians looked at each other as I was returned control, "What do you all think of the idea," I asked once I felt that they finished

"I agree with this plan," Athena began as my mother nodded, "but who will go to these places?"

"I have an idea of who should go," Annabeth began stepping forward just as the two prophets in the room stiffened.

'Four shall leave their safety

Three shall be legacy

While one is relative

After time passes to recover

One shall face their fate in the West

While the North is where the rest shall reside

With the people and object that the gods will need the most

Eldest shall be faced with great odds

One that will determine whether or not they'll see their loved one once more'

After the prophecy finished, the room went silent

"A little too late for a prophecy, don't you think," Percy asked, breaking the silence causing me to chuckle as Annabeth shot a glare at him

I sighed, "So that means four of us shall head over to the mountain," I began, "three legacies and one demigod who is related to us."

"Is it a Great Prophecy or a quest," Thalia asked as she stood by Artemis' throne

I shrugged, "I'd say quest," I began but looked around the room, "it tells us to leave when we're ready and to take a certain number."

"But the last Great Prophecy mentioned the number of demigods," Percy began but stopped when the two prophets went stiff once more.

'Families shall join together to face the next threat

Time Earth and Destruction they shall defeat

Throughout tears, pains, and threats, all legacies shall be gathered

Without the help of Seven, they shall fail

The one who has already lost the most

Shall lose what matters the most in the end'

If possible, the throne room fell into a deeper silence than it did with the last prophecy as the two prophets relaxed once more. "That was the third Great Prophecy," the creator began making everyone in the room jump. "But this time, there will be new people who will lead us in this war."

Every demigod in the room nodded as Zeus, "Who will be the leader of this new generation?"

Everyone muttered as they conversed between each other, and I though

It said I would be the one to lose the most, so it would make sense that I was the leader

Even more so since I'm the eldest of the two leaders of the last war

I straightened as Percy and Annabeth began to walk in front of me, "I will be the leader for the next generation," I answered as my parents froze.

"Why," Annabeth asked as she turned to me, "you realize it's so much work to lead people, right?"

I nodded, "I understand, but you and dad must stay here or go on separate quests to find the legacies. If the prophecies request us to be on these quests, then we will go. I believe the best route for you two is to train the new legacies."

"You think that's what the prophecy means when it mentions the Seven," Athena asked as I nodded

"If the members of the Seven trained the legacies and the next generation of demigods, then we will have their assistance," I began. "That won't be the only thing we'll draw the line at," I began, "it's not like I could keep our parents from fighting with us," I finished with a smirk

Chaos smiled, "You have good intentions, Zoë," she began, "may I bless you?"

"It would be an honor, milady," I answered with a bow of my head as I walked over to her

As I knelt before her, she gently placed her hands on my shoulders and began chanting in an old language. Soon I felt an odd weight on my shoulders as the light from the blessings died down. "Why does she have wings," Poseidon asked as I stood up to look at my back

"I made her my champion," Chaos began nonchalantly, "I was going to ask if the rest of the legacies would like to be blessed."

Bianca, Stephan, and Naomi all smiled and nodded, "I shall step out of the way, thank you, milady," I said as I stepped aside to look at my wings.

Their color resembled what I thought they would look like if angels were real. They were almost bleach blonde but still had some yellow colors, and I could easily move them. I returned my gaze to the three legacies being blessed and gasped. Each of them had wings. They were each their hair color and just as big as mine sticking out of their back. "How in the world," Athena began, "I thought you could only claim one person to be your champion."

"I'm as stunned as you are, Athena," Chaos answered as she looked at the three standing before her

Nobody was able to speak after that as yet another flash of light signaled the presence of another being that had most bowing while others were glaring at the three older ladies as they held a ball of orange string.

"We can answer this question, milady," they said in unison, "you had made a rule that each being whom you blessed was about to reach their limit, then they shall have forced partial immortality and wings."

Sammy's P.O.V

I was livid

Those three hags couldn't tell that the woman I pointed out before they stuck me in Naomi's head was the real creator until she had blessed every legacy there. Once everyone had grasped what the Fates had said, Zoë's gaze had darkened

"You're saying that unless I do something stupid to die or fail at something, I will live while you can't bring my girlfriend back after a mistake you made for that punishment," she growled

"She killed two innocent mortals," Clotho said calmly

"She had no choice but to live or die," Zoë began, "either way, those mortals were to die, so why should she be punished if she was forced to do that?"

"Rules are rules," Lachesis answered just as calmly as her sister

"You took orders from a man posing to be Chaos," Zoë growled, "you took orders from End and didn't even question him when he asked her to be brought back to life. You didn't even listen to her explanation of that cursed gang. You just sent her off into her sister's head."

At this point, Stephan and Bianca were keeping her from stalking the three older ladies as they just blinked. "We realize our mistakes Jackson," Atropos began as Zoë struggled against Stephan and Bianca. "The punishment that Valdez has is a unique one that will take years until we can pull her out of it."

"But you pulled her out of it before," I said, then I froze again

That was Naomi speaking

"What," one of the Fates asked as I was too stunned to see who it was

Naomi shook her head which almost made me nauseated if I had a stomach, "She is in my head, correct," my sister began. "Her curse is to watch everything through my eyes for however long you desire, correct?"

"Well, it was supposed to be an eternity but," Clotho began, but Atropos was straight to the point

"Yes, Valdez, how did you know?"

I felt Naomi bite her lip, "When dad found me, I heard her excitement when she spoke in my head. After that, she never spoke again. I just felt her presence," she paused. "I didn't feel it when she appeared right in front of me, and when we were in camp, I started feeling her in my head again. If you can't free her now, just let her have the same abilities that our parents had when stuck in our heads."

Everyone muttered as the Fates looked at each other then turned to Chaos, "Is this something the creator will allow?"

Stunned, the creator's eyes widened, "I thought you two were in charge of the future," she began, then cleared her throat. "Yes," she continued, "yes, it is something I will allow this will go in toe with what I have planned for Jackson."

"Then it is done," the Fates said in unison

I was almost too shocked to speak, "Naomi," I asked, causing her to jump

"It worked," she exclaimed as I cheered

"Thank you so much," I said to her, "you don't know what this means to me."

"I understand. Just don't make me do crazy shit," Naomi said, causing me to chuckle as well as everyone else in the room

"Is there a way I could take control to talk to Zoë," I asked, but then she turned to talk to me through thought

'Not right now,' she began, 'I have a feeling you'll see her with whatever Chaos has planned.'

I smiled, "Thank you, Naomi," I said as I watched her turn to Zoë

"She can speak in my head, but I am waiting to see whatever the creator is doing for you," she began, "I don't know what it is, but I believe it will be something that will have to wait for. If it's not what I think it is I will give her control tomorrow," she finished as I watched my girlfriend smile and nod

"Thank you, Naomi," she said before turned to the Olympians

"So," I began as I watched her talk to them, "I didn't have the pleasure of knowing you. Where are you from?"

'Florida, where were you from,' she asked as I smirked

"Right here in New York," I answered, "have a diet?"

'Sammy,' she thought to me, making me chuckle

"What I have to know," I began, "you're my sister, and if I come back, I am treating you to something as a thank you."

With a huff, Naomi answered, 'That's understandable. I do not have a diet.'

I smiled, "Thanks Na," I said, causing her to groan, "what you don't like the nickname? I do that to everyone. Just ask Z and Bi."

'How am I supposed to know you like to give people nicknames when I didn't even talk to you,' Naomi shot at me, causing me to chuckle. "I'll volunteer for the quest," she said as my eyes widened as much as Zoë's and Annabeth's

"Are you sure with this," I asked her just as Zoë asked the same question

"I want to help get mom," Naomi answered, "it can't be all Jackson's in one quest. Who'd be the relative?"

"She does have a point," Annabeth said as I watched Zoë shake her head

"I can't risk it," she began as I felt anger boil up inside her

"May I," I asked, "I know how to reason with her."

'Go ahead,' Naomi said before I was eye to eye with my girlfriend

"Are you saying that you can't risk it because I'm inside her mind Zoë," I began as her eyes widened in shock. "She is just as capable of defending herself as much as your mother or me. Just because I'm in her head does not mean you should treat her like a porcelain doll. I wouldn't take it, and she won't either," I finished as she gaped at me

"But I don't know what will happen to you if she dies," Zoë shot back at me, her eyes brimming with tears

"That makes the both of us," I began, "But that sure as hell doesn't mean we should tiptoe through the tulips to get through this war. The prophecy said all legacies would need to be gathered for this. That is up to and including Naomi and me. I understand your fear of losing me for good, Zoë, but this life will bring all sorts of curveballs that we will not see coming. You can't prepare for everything, Jackson, as much as you want to. It's going to be hard, but you will have help from family to camp. Everyone here will be happy to help you."

Zoë smiled, "What will I do without you?"

I smirked in Naomi's body, which is a weird experience, "Hopefully, keep to your promise of not doing anything stupid that will lead to your death."

"I'll see to it that she doesn't do that," Calypso said through my girlfriend's mouth. The brown eyes did look weird on her. "Return control to Naomi so she can fend for herself now," she added, and I nodded before floating to the back of my head. Once I was watching again, I could feel the glare that Naomi was giving Zoë

"Sammy said everything that I needed to say," she began, "but please don't ever discredit me just because I have her in my head. From what I learned just by these few weeks; this life takes us on uncertain paths. You cannot give someone up just because it eases your conscious Jackson. We will have to take risks no matter what the cost may be."

Everyone nodded with what my sister said. Calypso took even enough time to control Zoë and wink at Naomi before returning control to my girlfriend. "I'm sorry," she began once she was back, "I'm just scared."

"Zoë," Annabeth began as she approached her eldest daughter. "That is going to be part of the job. Percy and I would be lying if we said we weren't terrified during our adventures to defeat Kronos and Gaea. Fear is what makes you human," she paused, "I understand your fear, and everyone understands it too. What Sammy said is the truth, though," she paused enough to glance in my direction as I had a smirk show through Naomi. "Everyone here and at both camps will be happy to help you no matter what happens in this war."

'I have a feeling that you have something to say. Do you want to take control to say it,' Naomi asked me as everyone agreed with Annabeth and me

"I'll save it for whatever Chaos has planned," I began as she looked around the room at the cheering demigods

"So," Athena began, "who shall be the demigod that is relative in this quest?"

Mummers went throughout the Hephaestus and Athena cabins as they decided who it could be. "I'll go," Nyssa's voice rang out from the crowd, "I volunteer."

"Why would the second in command of the Hephaestus cabin want to volunteer for a quest they may die in," Ares asked as if he was bored

"Maybe because she wants to step up and help," Zoë answered for him just as I saw my grandfather open his mouth

"Is that true," he asked Nyssa, and she nodded as he smiled, "then you may go."

"Thank you, father," she said with a small bow, "we can leave in three days so we can rest and prepare."

"Sounds good to me," Zoë said as Naomi and Bianca nodded. Bianca had volunteered as I was asking Naomi questions. It wasn't much of a surprise to me because it's just as hard to keep those two apart as it is hard to keep Zoë and me apart.

But even that still happened

Naomi followed as she watched Zoë throw her arms around Bianca so they could comfort each other the best they could. Both lost a lover in one day, but they somehow managed to leave the throne room in high spirits.

'How do they do that,' Naomi thought to me at night once everyone was done rushing to train.

"Do what," I asked as she got cleaned up in the shower

'I forgot you were in my head,' Naomi said as I felt her blush, earning a chuckle from me

"Don't worry, I won't share any images," I said, causing her to blush harder, "I understand how Zoë does that, but I don't know how Bianca does it. Zoë had learned to find the silver lining in everything even after events such as today."

'But what would the silver lining of today be,' Naomi thought to me as she finished up in the shower. 'She lost a lover and a sister all in one day, and she walked out throwing her arm around her sister's shoulders as if nothing happened.'

I sighed, "She keeps a sister and obtains the ability to talk to me even though I am dead and with you," I began. "Trust me when I say this," I paused, "even though she may act happy on the outside, she is hurting inside as much as Bianca is."

'Because of the loss of you and Thaly?'

"Exactly," I began, "now get some rest. I think Percy wants to train you in hand-to-hand combat with Annabeth."

"I hate hand to hand combat," she muttered aloud as she threw herself onto her bed in Bunker 9

"Let me guess," Stephan asked from the other side of the room. Our father had told us we could stay in Bunker 9 whenever we didn't want to mess with our extended family. "She told you to get some rest because she thinks you'll go through some training with Percy and Annabeth."

"That is exactly what I said, Stefan," I said through Naomi, earning a groan from my brother. "As good as Naomi is with a bow and arrow, she needs to work on her close combat because there will be instances where she will have no choice but to fight that way. Now you two get some rest. I'll talk to you in the morning."

"I am going to regret this immensely," Naomi began in her pillow just as footsteps sounded from behind us

"I don't think you'll regret it when she saves your life," Leo said, "but Sammy's right. You two need rest because there will be a little bit more training. This training is to work up your style of fighting instead of the one that End had you use."

"Is this supposed to make it, so we're comfortable with every weapon," Stephan asked, "I'm more of a fire-whip kinda guy."

"That's cool," I heard Leo say, causing me to sigh

"Dad, you're not helping them get rest," I began, "In answer to your question Stephan yes it is. Just because you have a favorite doesn't mean you have to be comfortable using other weapons. What if you're in a flammable building? You can't fight a monster using those at that point. What if Naomi is stuck in a small room that isn't big enough for her bow and arrow? She will need to learn close combat as much as possible. Now rest before I visit mom to get you to."

All three of them sighed as Naomi closed her eyes, 'Thank you, Big Sis,' she said before drifting off

"You're welcome, Little Sis. Now go to sleep," I said before I felt her breathing steady, and her world turned to black. I smiled, closing my eyes and sighing. My eyes snapped back open when the smell of a flower garden seeped into my nose. "What the," I whispered as I walked around the field of flowers, "where am I?"

"Why don't you take a look Samantha," Chaos' voice suggested in my head, causing me to wince, "don't favor your full name?"

"Not one-bit milady," I answered as I walked through the flowers taking in the beauty. I noticed I was wearing a simple white toga. Similar to the kind of dress that my mother would wear in Ogygia. I stopped in my tracks as I saw someone lying in the flowers. Her blonde hair sprawled out underneath her head as her eyes closed, the faint trail of tears tracking down her face. I ran over to notice she was wearing a light blue sundress with her weapons equipped to her as she breathed softly. I knelt and kissed her on the lips, "It's time to wake up, Smart Guppy."
