Chapter One

What if you had it all, but you feel there's something missing and that feeling, that just one feeling can make you feel very alone? I have it all, the best parents in the world, a great best friend I've had everything I've always wanted not that I was not satisfied but seeing Laura in the arms of her mate, both looking at each other so lovingly as if there was no one else in this world, made feel like the loneliest person in the world.

I wish I had someone who would look at me despite my flaws as if I was the best thing that has ever happened to him. I want someone who would look at me with nothing but love in his eyes. I don't know about other races but for us werewolves finding our mates is a really big deal for us.

"Ok, that's enough now, enough of the PDA, gosh, have mercy on my innocent eyes" I joked grabbing Laura by her arm away from her mate. They were so close to having sex with their eyes.

"Adieeeee" She whined removing her hands from my grip

"What, we are getting late for class"

"She's right" Matteo said "You should go to your class, see you later my love" He said leaning down to peck her lips. He walked to his car, and blew Laura a kiss leaving her blushing like a high school kid whose crush kissed her cheeks.

"Cockblocker" She muttered after Matteo left

"What did you say?" I pretended as if I didn't hear what she said. I hoisted my bag up on my shoulder and walked towards our class. Our school is human-oriented so only a few werewolves attend it

"Nothing" She chirped

We walked side by side into our faculty and walked down the hall till we got to the class, luckily for us, Professor Scott was not in the class.

We, werewolves mix perfectly well with humans, they don't know of our existence some werewolves pretty much live their lives as humans either because they rarely shift because they are late bloomers or half werewolves or they lost contact with their wolves because they lost their mates

My dad is a pack warrior, well used to be, He now runs a store for car spare parts and my mum runs her restaurant. I am a pack warrior not to boast but I'm one of the best fighters we have in the Dew Moon pack. If you haven't guessed already, I'm Adelina and I'm 20 and 'mateless'. Usually, a werewolf finds its mate when they are 18 when the wolf instincts are highly developed except for late bloomers.

I felt a nudge on my side and I turned to the left and stared at Laura with one of my eyebrows raised questioningly.

"You completely zoned out, Professor Scott is here" She whispered gesturing to the front with her head

I faced the front, sat up straight and mentally prepare myself for the one hour of listening to a boring lecture on the first world war.

"That was pretty intense" Laura said yawning after an hour-long, long lecture

"I agree, I have to rush to the dorm, first I need a shower, then a 3-hour nap and I have tons of assignments to finish, the deadline is getting near" I stated listing everything I wanted to do.

"Looks like you have your whole day planned out"

"I wouldn't say that, want me to drop you off at the pack house, I have to see The General anyway," I said getting into the car. I didn't need a car since I practically live in the school dorm but Mum and Dad would not have any of it. They wanted me to be comfortable and it is useful for days like this.

''You listed the things you wanted to do and seeing The General was not part of the list" She pointed out closing the door of the passenger seat.

"Well, it is now" I shrugged, turned the ignition on and started driving.

"You know, I adore you warriors, you guys are practically like human soldiers, I mean always saluting and everything, you guys even have ranks. You, people, are probably the next in line after the Alpha, Luna, Beta and Beta female, the Gamma and Gamma female, the Delta and Delta female, the Werewolf Council and all. I hope you get promoted to Captain soon because I don't know how you cope with school and your job at the same time.

I mean, I can barely cope in school. It's always like you have a dual personality, the one at the pack and the one in school but if you ask me I prefer the Adie in school, She is always relaxed, carefree and not always putting on the whole military look" Laura rambled.

"Are you about to be on your period?" I asked irritatedly still focusing on the road while driving.

"Oh shit...I knew something was up with me...Gosh, that was the reason I wanted to play hacky-packy with Matteo in front of the whole school this morning" She said in realization "I can see the signs already".

Werewolves are like two people in one. Our human side has all the characteristics of a human including getting our periods also our human side is the most sensitive and brilliant side of us. The only difference between us and normal human is that we can shift to our wolves anytime, the wolf side has animal instincts and that balances out our human side, does that even makes any sense to you?

"Who says hacky-packy nowadays," I asked twisting my face in disgust.

"ME!!" She exclaimed and I shook my head at her with a small smile dancing on my lips

"We are here" I turned off the ignition in front of the pack hospital.

"Ok, bye, Matteo must be waiting for me" Matteo is a doctor, a paediatrician to be precise. I wonder when I would be a godmother to little Laura and little Matteo. Did I mention that children have always been my weakness.

After bidding Laura bye, I drove to the warrior's camp. I turned the ignition off, I smoothed down my hair that was already in a bun, took a deep breath and got down. I straightened my back and walked into the base.
