Chapter Five

Adelina's POV

I didn't need to be told twice to follow the rogue. I told Blaze I was not stalking him before but I was now.

I followed them till they reached a restaurant. I saw Blaze get down from his car but the rogue remained in his car. It is common knowledge that rogues were pretty dumb because they've lost almost all contact with their human side but they were smart enough to not attack in a public place.

I stayed in the car to avoid suspicion. After waiting for twenty minutes, I decided to follow Blaze to make sure he was safe, we never can say other rogues might be lurking around in the corner. Something bad might have happened to Blaze and that thought alone made chills run down my spine and made me scared shitless, I was not about to lose my mate when I just found him.

Fortunately, Blaze came out before I could come down. What baffled me was how Blaze didn't notice anyone following him like a shadow, I mean he was not even a bit suspicious, any normal human being would have dialled 911 by now to complain and with the way the rogue was 'spying' on him he would have gotten caught easily.

Blaze finally stopped at a house, it had a high fence surrounding it so I couldn't see the house very well but from the looks of it was a mansion.

The rogue drove straight ahead as if he had not been following Blaze from school. I parked my car in a secluded corner and watched Blaze drive inside the house through the gate. I immediately brought my phone out to call Uncle Sam

"Hello sir," I said as soon as he picked up the phone

"Yes lieutenant" He answered

"There is a student in school whose name is Blaze de Leon and from my investigation, a rogue has been stalking him from school and I'm pretty sure there is a reason behind it. Nevertheless, he might not be the only one the rogues are tailing so I will continue my investigation for any other possible cases" I reported.

"Very good, I knew I could count on you"

"Thank you, sir"

After dropping the call, I called Jack to get me all the information that he could get on Blaze. I hoped he is not connected to the rogues, I mean he is human and he most likely doesn't know of our existence. Whatever it is I will perform my sworn duty and that is protecting humans and other werewolves against rogues and any other danger and that includes Blaze, mate or no mate.

"Adelina, this guy has a clear criminal record. He spent his early life in Australia, he moved here around three months ago. His dad is a businessman and owner of the Leon construction company. I could only find a bit of information on his mother she is a philanthropist who likes to keep her life private as much as possible. He is the only child. For more info, all you need to know is in this file" He handed over the file to me as we walked briskly into the camp.

"Thank you, Jack"

"I know you will do everything to complete your mission but please be careful. The rogues are ruthless, they will gladly get rid of anyone in their way" Jack said worriedly.

Jack and I were friends before we became colleagues if you know what I mean. We went to the same high school and he has always been a pain in my butt with his overly cheerful behaviour. His perfect combination of dark blonde hair and his chocolate, almost black eyes gave him a typical bad-boy look. Forget I said pain in the butt, he is a very nice guy but I just can't match his energy sometimes.

"I know Jack, thank you, I will let you know if there's any development" I assured him.

"I'm glad to be in your team, you always get the job done, and very soon you will be promoted to captain," He said enthusiastically.

''As you said 'team'. we always get the job done" I corrected

"Always the modest one" He laughed and we parted ways

After discussing a few things with Uncle Sam. I went back to my dorm, I don't have a roommate and I'm very sure Uncle Sam had something to do with it so I could have privacy between my school life and me being a warrior.

I studied for the test more like glanced through my notes because I was so tired and I slept off as soon as my head hit the pillow.

"We have been hanging out less these past few weeks" Laura complained "Is there anything wrong with you?"

"Nope," I said popping the p as I took another sip from my coffee. God bless the person who discovered coffee, I love you so so very much, and I don't know how I would have lived without you *Okay, that was too much*

"Or you found your mate and decided to keep it a secret so that I will not disturb your honeymoon stage" She said raising her eyebrows weirdly which made me roll my eyes at her.

"C'mon you used to tell me everything" She persisted

"What, where do you get all your useless theory from?" I replied defensively.

Yes, I found my mate but for some reason, I could not understand myself, I could not tell her, Laura does not need to know that it got complicated before it could even start.

"I was just saying," She said raising her hands in surrender.

"I'm on a mission okay," I said finally to get her off my back.

"Can you tell me what the mission is all about?" She asked and I turned to glare at her.

"Oh, I forgot 'Classified Information" She said her mouth forming an 'O'. She pretended to zip her mouth, lock it and throw the key away.

"There is Blaze and Anna" She gestured to them

I didn't listen to my mind that was telling me not to look to avoid getting hurt. I turned to look at them and I tried to ignore the pang of hurt in my heart when I saw them kiss.

"That's my mate you bitch" Kiera growled

The mate pull was getting harder to resist as the days passes. I should reject him before it is too late. The guy doesn't even want to talk to me.

I was about to avert my eyes when I saw someone give Blaze a bro hug and it was the rogue that was stalking him the other day.
