SAVING THE COMPANY'S REPUTATION
The following morning Alexander woke up early and went to take a shower and had his breakfast which was made for him by his maid Mrs Moore who had been his cook from a very small age since he was extra picky about food. She was one of the best cooks at their family mansion.
"morning sir here is your breakfast. Yesterday old master called and he said you needed to accompany Ms Blossom more since you two will eventually get married in the future that was his message after he called", he relied on the message.
"I don't understand Aunty why my father wants me to get married so quickly I simply don't understand his mindset ", he complained to Mrs Moore whom he had called Aunty ever since he was a young boy.
"allow me to tell you this young master but I understand their concerns. Look at you you are now in your early thirties and do not have a wife or child. They want you to have someone with whom you share your problems, someone who will love you greatly, who will give you a shoulder to cry on, and who will be your pillar of strength. I hope you can view this issue from their perspective mostly at their age your accomplishment does not mean anything anymore to them but the joy of being surrounded by grandchildren", she patiently explained the situation to the arrogant master of hers.
"Aunty I understand of view but I don't know why they persist it so much. They have never been this persistent about any issue this is the first, he questioned.
"Well, I truly understand. How about this you eat your meal before it turns cold and we will continue with this topic once you return from work. I don't want to delay you with this issue which we can discuss later on ", she said knowing fully well that he had a meeting to attend that day.
He went straight to work that day in a very foul mood. He had watched the data accumulated from last week's sales and he was not happy with any of that so his father's insist of him getting married ruined his mood to a very much worse extent. Just as he arrived at the company everyone felt the dark cloud that was circulating him and they could not help but wonder what it was that was troubling them
Some of the directors when they saw his attitude knew that if they did not come up with satisfying reasons as to why the cumulative frequency graph had been dropping even after releasing the latest top-notch technology device, their jobs were at great risk and no one was safe from his wrath.
When Alex entered his office before he could sit down he noticed the cup of coffee which was placed on his table and it was the right temperature and texture which he loved. But this did not melt the huge wall which surrounded his heart but it had an effect in making him relax a little bit as he looked for possible solutions to his problem. Just then Emma walked inside the room looking refreshing and exuding a confident look in her business suit which she had put on today. With the temperament she had at that time one could think that she was the owner of the company or a director she was fully composed.
The way she was walking was giving of a very authoritative vibe to it even Alex for a moment was shocked at who was standing in his office but when he heard her speak he was brought back to light and he could not help but curse.
"Morning sir, did you drive safely back to your house yesterday", she said with a very confident business tone in it.
"yes I did now where are the documents I gave you yesterday to photocopy for today's meeting", he asked with anger evident in his speech.
"well I have already distributed them inside the conference room and sir I think I have…..", just before she could have said what she wanted the man walked out of the room with heavy strides.
"Now let go I don't like to keep people waiting too much', he said with authority as he checked his suit and adjusted it.
Now everyone inside the conference room was once on the edge of their seats as they found it very hard to depict what the CEO would say today. Most of the directors the one in charge of the marketing alongside his manager of the department were having beads of sweat as they knew that today's meeting would get them fired if the boss was not pleased with their proposals.
After what seemed like an eternity the man of the moment came inside the room and everyone stood up as they welcomed their formidable young boss. He did not try by even a single degree to try to hide his displeasure when he saw the director and manager in charge of marketing.
"thank you ladies and gentlemen you can take your seats', he commanded after sitting down.
Now the silence prevailed again inside the room which one could cut with scissors but since he had many things to do that day he went straight to the point of discussion in that day's meeting.
"Well today I called you after looking at the data from the previous weeks after we launched our beauty line which at first was a huge success but after a cumulative of 5 working days from its release the data was acutely decreasing can you the marketing team explain the situation to us more explicitly going into detail since I told you to look into it yesterday', he commanded with fierce authority in his voice as well as tone.
"well Mr President we would like to say this was mainly because of poor marketing of the product…..", this was the manager Mr Smith talking but was cut short right before he had progressed with his argument any further.
"whose poor marketing strategy was it, since you are the head of the department I and various stakeholders would want a clear explanation on that please continue", he said with sheering eyes.
"Mr Allan sir, the problem we faced is that most people did not know this beauty line and most of it is too expensive to buy in the stores and we have not received many reviews about our line even more", he said nervously.
"okay let's say it's expensive do you simply say we have to be cheaper than other brands to get high sales? Remember here we are not bothered about the number of sales but basically, the profit margin which was five percent when we launched it but now it has gone back to zero that's my biggest concern now. Does that mean as a company we have failed to launch a simple beauty line in this industry, Mr Anderson the director what solution do you suggest we do', he asked looking the director straight in the eye.
'Well Mr. President I think we must try to advertise this brand on billboards, and TV commercials this might give us traffic", he said.
"well that will be easy but do you know that this project is not the only one the company is focusing on right? Since you suggest that the money will be deducted from your salaries", he said.
Just as the director was about to speak everyone heard a female voice stop him and they could not help but look beside the man only then did they realize that there was a beautiful flower beside their president. But they did not have time to admire her facial or body features as they feared the CEO would reprimand her as she had interrupted a very serious issue at the meeting.
"stop Mr Director I think I can help you with that", this statement line got everyone in the room to look at her with pitful expressions as they knew that her job was over for sure. How dare she interrupt such serious conversations.
"Ms Stone I would appreciate it if you could keep your mouth shut that way we can be as peaceful as we can be", Alex said threatenly but Emma since she had gone through the day yesterday was ready for this.
After the CEO had reprimanded her she stood up from her seat in the corner of the room far from the table and made it to the center of the room towards the projector which was there.
"EMMA STONE WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING", Alexander said looking frustrated by her behavior everyone was now hoping she would leave the room or else things could get worse.
"I simply don't care if I lose my job as you all are speculating but I can help this company I must say it now all of you now listen to my suggestion and proposal", she said trying to gain everyone's attention.
"leave this room now ", Alex said in a very loud voice which resounded throughout the whole building and everyone was shocked.
"Now MR ALEXANDER ALLAN I have been listening to you and ever since I came to this company even during the interview you have been cutting me off now you listen if you don't feel comfortable you are not cast into cement in the chair you can leave the room anytime you like ", she said this time and everyone could feel that she was angry as she gave off a very terrifying aura at that moment even Alex himself felt blood clots forming inside his bloodstream.
"now the issue with your product is that you used the billboards yes to advertise your line but look at your data where it got you.NOWHERE. Now let me tell you a very cheap and easy way for you to promote this beauty line of yours. Nowadays people are spending much of their time on social media we can use platforms like Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook to share and let our brand grow you will see that it can make this brand even grow to a very international level. How did we do it it's simple looking at the number of followers you have on all of these platforms you exceed a 45million which is a very good start" Before she could go any further Alex cut her short.
"but I believe we posted pictures about the brand", he justified.
"That's a very good argument but am sorry to say you did it all wrong, looking at the posts which talk about your products it has two hundred thousand ikes out of forty-five million so you see it was a poor online marketing strategy", she explained.
"so what do you suggest", he asked again.
"since it is a beauty line you have to shoot small videos of people trying your products and giving feedback, for example, if it is made up one has to apply it in front of the camera so that the viewers will see how nice it is and how perfect your products are. Also, invite people to have them test an unnamed product for a given amount of time and compare their skin before the use and after but now this data is not to be presented selfishly to this room only but to the audience you have on your accounts this will gain you more traffic in the next month and you will see that the beauty line business will flourish, she said and returned to her seat.
After a moment of silence, Alex looked at her suggestion and it seemed cheap and easy to carry out whilst bringing in a lot of money to the company.
'After careful consideration, I'll let you off for now but if this method does not bring any fruit you will pay dearly", he said and left the room.
Everyone now looked at Emma with respect and she felt confident that what she had said would bear fruits.
