1 Ch.1

Smog, busy streets, and tall building the typical description of a city though the city I am in right now is far from normal. The city is named Gotham, you heard right Gotham as the one in the DC Universe. I don't know how I ended up here, but some how I replaced the person called Seth Forge. Seth was a senior in high schooler in the middle of a break, so I had plenty of time to go through his memories.

He wasn't remarkable in his academics, but he did have strength in spades. He was a tall with broad shoulder and a strong jaw. He set the record powerlifting record in his junior year before he had to leave. He was able to squat 850, bench 560, and deadlift 750 pounds making his the strongest in the school. Many in the school knew this and it isolated him from everyone as they thought he was a brute, thug or whatever.

Though now I am in the driver seat and going to put this body to good use, though I know this body isn't normal. You may be wondering how I know well that is because I had a dream that I know isn't a dream now asking if a could have a singular power what would it be, and I answered continuous evolution.

The idea of your body continuously improving as you face something is by far the most broken ability I could think of. Know I think this body has that exact ability as it seems the more, I strain this body the stronger and faster I become. I could even me more resilient to damage after being hit repeatably. How did I figure that out Set-I mean my dad is a raging drunk that likes to get physical.

He was a member of the Gotham PD before he lost his left arm in a dealing with the Joker two years ago. Ever since then he began drinking and it drove away his wife as she couldn't take it any longer and I was still here only because apparently, she wouldn't be able to support the two of us, so I was stuck here. Either way I noticed that after a couple of beatings his that I healed faster and that it didn't hurt as much I didn't bruise after a week of facing his beatings.

If you are wondering what I am doing currently I am working part time at a construction site pushing wheelbarrows and lifting heavy bags and carrying them from one place to another. The pay is decent enough being fourteen dollars an hour. More than what most get paid, though I was only paid so well because I didn't tire out so easily compared to others.

In the brief brake period, I was able to make $784 dollars, which was a blessing as the asshole father didn't freely give away money. Luckily even though I get off around evening time I haven't run into any of the dangerous villains that run amok in Gotham. I just entered my father's and I apartment when a bottle whizzed by my head I calmly looked where it came from and saw my father looking at me.

"Wherrrree… where haaavvvee have you been braaat?" he asked as he swayed on his feet as he leered at me. I guess he started early this evening as most times he is simply watching tv around this time. I just sighed as I looked at him.

"I just got back from working, dad." I said as I looked at him, I could tell he wasn't able to recall what I was talking about. "The boss is Aj Jackson, he was an old high school buddy of yours." When I mentioned his old buddy, I could see the recognition on his face. He simply nodded and stumbled back into the living room, leaving me alone. I simply trudged up the stairs to my room and got a pair of clean clothes and went to wash the filthy off my body.

When I laid down in my crappy bed as I stared at the ceiling from what I knew school would be starting back to school tomorrow. I learned that the school name was blandly called Gotham Private High and was in the middle of the middle-class neighborhood so there wasn't too much crime in the area. From my memories I was surprised and nervous to realize that Barbara Gordon was in my class. I know she is Batgirl so I can't be reckless around her in case she is paranoid like Batman.

So, I will have to keep my unique ability from being seen around her or those around her. If there is one thing, I don't want is to be on their radar at least till I become much stronger than I am right now. Right now, even if my strength is in the upper reaches of a normal person it doesn't mean squat in the face of super powered metas or people like Wonder Woman. Putting those thoughts aside I decided and get some sleep.
