Aaron's Diary

During 1970s, A british scientist named Aaron Dale discovered the first step to our near future. His theory states that the soul is not just a body of unknown energy coupled to human body by means of a mutual interaction. It can do so much more.

Aaron named that unknown energy as [Mana].

Mana is assumed by him to be the origin of all other energies. This means it can manipulate other forms of energies into its own likings. His findings were published on the web but most it got were ridicules.

Aaron was furious and couldn't accept the fact that people refused to consider his theory. His reputation in the university dropped straight underground. Every day on his way to office, Aaron could see his colleagues sneering at him with mocking eyes.

To be honest, as a scientist, he should have known better. Scientific facts are verified by repeatable careful observation or measurement by experiments or other means.Aaron realised this only now and this resulted in a tiny corruption called "Depression" to start spreading in his heart but he killed it in an instant. It's already too late to regret.

Scientists' most precious thing in life is their pride. He would rather die than be a failure. So a diligent scientist became a madman. He wanted to prove those fools who was the right one. Rather than giving up, Aaron decided to focus all his time on this one theory.

He worked day and night. His researches were on solar energy, wind energy, Electric energy, auras of human bodies, healing properties of metals and gemstones. Aaron was trying to prove of the connection between Mana and these energies. All of his findings were written inside a thick diary.

So, did he find the answers he was searching for in the end?

Yes, however Aaron died before he could show the world he was right all along.

Investigations couldn't find the reason for his death. All they found was a burned figure assumed to be the body of Aaron. The books that he worked for years was in the end taken by Aaron's old teacher and kept in the library of the university.

Just like that... the first scientist to discover Mana and its properties left this world.

Time passed and soon the world is coming into its new era. People call it "The Digital Revolution". It is also known as the Third Industrial Revolution. There comes the shift from mechanical and electronic technology to digital electronics which began in the latter half of the 20th century, with the inventions like digital computers and digital record-keeping.

In this 1985, the real revolution in the history that will soon take over the world is happening in the small room inside Wade University. Inside it is quiet. Two figures can be seen writing while there are tons of similar papers lying around the huge table alongside a thick book.

Ray Ronald and Darwin Dark, two mischievous genius graduates from Wade University are furiously writing in their papers. These papers are analysis, interpretation, and argument regarding the findings inside Aaron's diary.

"Ughh.... this is so hard. How did the man Aaron find and write all these stuffs! I can't even finish one page before getting distracted. Darwin, PLEASE....can we leave all these nonsense for while and got eat lunch?? My treat, okay?"

A young man with light blondie hair who seems to look tired called his best friend. His eyes are however looking out the window as if searching for something interesting to happen.

"Hmm...Ray, I'm not sure about this being nonsense. His research is detailed. If soul is real, it needs to be made out of something. He named that 'thing' Mana. No one really researched on this energy but Aaron was already finding the connections between mana and other energies. He wasn't in the right era to research 'Mana'. Come on, it has a potential to become life changing opportunity for us. There's nothing wrong with trying things out."

"Fine..."

The two friends read their notes again and again. They started lining up the informations gathered and start looking over solutions to prove Aaron's final theory.

It's already 1996 and yet Darwin and Ray still couldn't find the solution. They were now thinking of giving up. Ray however discovered during the time that if one wants to use Mana, they must be in a calming state of mind. Both felt that meditating is the best way to concentrate. The diary also showed certain Chinese meditation poses.

Darwin was thinking while his hand on the chin. He feels quite depressed seeing no results after months and kinda ashamed since he dragged his friend down along with him.

'I should have known better. Even those experienced ones doesn't research on this topic. How can us two newbie graduates..*sigh* I guess it's time to give up...' Just as Darwin was going to tell his friend that he's giving up...

"Bro, here. You've been working hard...Try to relax abit more. Both you and me want to publish this already but in reality we're just two inexperienced dudes trying something that's bigger than us. We both know trying this will take a very long time...so take a break. Nothing wrong with resting after using your brain for so long."

Hearing Ray lessoning him, Darwin started laughing, it's not everyday to see a carefree guy like him so serious looking.

"Yeah.. it will take a very long time. Thanks, Ray. Sorry for being depressed. I will work harder for the two of us."

"Bro, I told you to rest. Not work harder. Damn... your brain is wired in a very different way than mine."

"Wired differently, you say... Hmm, it is true isn't it? What if we all have the same personalities?*chuckles* that would be funny. Serious Ray, lol."

"Wha! That'll never happen! Even that damn diary said that. Wait, let me find it again.

Uhh.. here! It says:

[Animals have different personalities from one another, so does humans. This shows that although all humans have souls. All of them MIGHT have different kind of souls.] "

"Wait, what does it mean by different kind of souls? So you're saying the mana might have some restrictions on what it can do. Huh... which page was it written in, Ray?"

"Page 564. It's titled [Limitations?] What a weird guy. That's not even a good title. He needs better naming sense."

Darwin start reading the whole topic. It has 59 full pages talking about what might be the limitations of mana, whether these limitations are different from a person to another.

"Ray, we have a lot more to research on. I don't know when we can build a device that can let us control other energies using mana but this is the start. We will succeed."

Ray hearing his friend's words couldn't help but nod. There's no need to be impatient, things will be solved eventually if they don't give up.
