1 Demon
Cove twists and turns in his sleep, stretching calmly. Before his alarm goes off of course. BEEP BEEP BEEP.
He sits up panicking "Gah!" . He starts waking up as he looks over at the beeping nuisance next to him like as if it were a shit stain. "Stupid alarm..." . The alarm is dismissed and he swings his legs off the bed and just sits there for a while, trying to remember what his dream was about.
"Mmm. OH LORD-" He had just had the dirtiest dream about his friend, Collin. "WTF?! Why would I dream about that? I'm not even gay!" He sputters out loud.
He slips off his bed and onto the floor rushing to the bathroom, trying to forget this cursed dream he was damned with.
-After getting ready-
Cove jogs downstairs and into the kitchen only to meet with his sister Vivien. He swore she was the most annoying sibling in the world.
"Hey Cove, so you're finally done?" She peeps without looking up from her phone.
Cove grabs a bowl and a box of cereal, he begins pouring cereal into his bowl. "Just because you got down here first doesn't mean you're faster at getting dressed and stuff, it just means you put no effort into the way you look, dumbass"
"Tch. Says the one only wearing a shirt and jeans..."
Cove goes over to the fridge and opens it, scanning for the milk. "Hey, Viv..."
"Yeah?"
"Where's the milk?"
Vivien smirks lazily and looks over at Cove, "Oh~ I forgot to tell you that I used up the last bit~" She snickers to herself. "Too bad I finished my breakfast 2 minutes ago... Guess you were too late."
Cove shuts the fridge door. "Ugh" . He grabs a spoon and sits down with his bowl of dry cornflakes in front of him. "Could of told me that before I started pouring the cereal into the bowl..." He scowls.
"That would of took too much effort to be honest."
"Wow..." Cove says as he starts eating his cereal.
There's a knock at the door
"Please don't tell me that you're too lazy to open the door as well" He sighs.
Vivien stands up. "Ha ha. Screw you" She deadpans then goes to answer the door.
Cove can hear an indistinct conversation at the door, before Archie and Collin walk into the kitchen, wearing their uniforms. Ready for school. Vivien behind them.
Cove sees Collin and remembers his dream, causing him to drop his spoon and choke on his cereal.
"You okay?" Archie asks
Cove sorts himself out. "Yup.. Hey"
"Hey" Archie sighs tiredly
"Yeah I'm gonna leave you kids to mingle" Vivien says leaving the kitchen
Collin groans heavily. "Where's Vinny?" Cove pipes
"Collin had an argument with him last night..." Archie explains
"Oh, about what?
"He wouldn't admit that he overreacts sometimes" Collin huffed
"That's it?" Cove chuckles harmlessly
"No" Collin hissed
Archie taps Collin on the shoulder. "Can... Can I tell him?"
Collin looks down. "I guess..."
"Go ahead" Cove urges attentively.
Archie clears his throat, preparing his explanation. "Well, it started with Collin making a joke about Vinny, who then said that the joke was uncalled for, Collin called Vinny a drama-queen so then Vinny kinda started accusing Collin of being an ass. Collin tried to get Vinny to understand how much he was overreacting then they just kinda started insulting each other."
Collin crosses his arms. "And THAT'S all" .
Cove stares at Archie. "Collin insulted Vinny back?" He asks shocked.
"Yes! I did! Is that such a bad thing?!" Collin snaps
"No... It's just unexpected" Cove murmurs, scared of this new version of Collin. Usually Collin was really nice and sincere. This Collin kinda made Cove heat up... But he would NEVER admit that, not even to himself.
"So, you nearly done with your breakfast?" Archie asks, changing subject.
Cove stands up, bowl in hand. "I don't think I'm gonna finish this." . He goes over to the bin, tips the remaining cereal in and puts the spoon and bowl into the sink. "Let me go get my stuff then we can leave" He says, leaving the room. Archie and Collin follow behind.
"You gonna be okay at school?" Archie peeps at Collin.
"Of course I'm gonna be fine. But if that drama queen comes up to me, he's gonna get a formal invitation from the king..." Collin rants whilst holding his fist up.
Cove grabs his bag from the sofa and puts his shoes on.
"You done?" Collin muttered
Cove heads towards the door. "Yup, let's go" .
They all go out the door.
-On the way to school-
"So, are we not talking to Vinny anymore?" Cove questions.
"Depends who's side you're on" Collin says blankly.
"Well, I guess yours, since you came to me first" Cove states.
Archie skips along side them. "Right. So do we find a replacement?"
Collin stops walking all of a sudden and they all bump into each other. "That's a horrible idea. What if they turn out just as bad? You wanna risk losing another person you thought you could trust?"
Cove chuckles carelessly. "That's if we even find someone else. Anyway, I don't think it's that bad of an idea"
"Fine, we can find a replacement, but once something bad happens, I'm gonna have to say 'I told you so' " Collin scoffs while he folds his arms.
Archie starts skipping along the path again, the others follow. "Yay! Friend hunt!" He bubbles, punching the air.
"Well this should be easy" Cove gushes.
Collin chuckles sarcastically. "Hah, bet" He deadpans.
-At school-
Lucas closes his locker to find Archie leaning on the locker next to him.
"Hey Luke~" Archie chimes, looking like an anime protagonist.
"Uh, hey... Archie." Lucas says hesitantly.
Archie's face twists into a beaming, innocent smile "Will you be my friend? Of course, if you say yes then you're automatically friends with Cove and Collin as well~ Such a bargain. Get one friend, get two more for free!"
Lucas smiles awkwardly, "Nah, I'm good" .
Archie's expression quickly turns into a vault of disappointment, "Oh..." .
"Not that it's not a good bargain or anything!" Lucas reassures.
Archie's eyes fill with oncoming tears. "B-but..."
"SORRY!" Lucas muttered sincerely whilst running down the hallway and sharply turning the corner.
"Hmph. I thought I'd convinced him at the tears. I guess I should work more at that" Archie sighs in distress.
-At Lunch-
Cove goes up to Annii's table, uncomfortably. "Hey, Annii..."
Annii looks up at Cove "What do you want?" She yawns.
Cove smiles awkwardly. "I was wondering if you'd join my friend group?"
Annii and her friends laugh. "Is that a joke?"
"Uh... Y-yeah! A joke.. I mean, I don't know who'd wanna be your friend-" Cove covers his mouth and runs away. While Annii scoffs.
-After School-
Cove meets up with Archie and Collin by a tree near the school gates. "How many people did you ask to join us?" He chirps.
"Oh. That. I asked one person." Collin sighs.
Cove stares at Collin, expecting a response like that. "I asked five people"
"Hmph"
"What about you, Archie?"
"Hee hee. I asked everyone in our year" Archie states proudly, hands on hips.
Cove gawps at Archie. "Woah. Cool, how many said they'd join us?"
Archie squints and smiles awkwardly, "None, how about you guys?"
"I got the same results" Collin chuckles
Cove sighs and looks down, "Same"
Everything is silent for a while, before Archie pipes up, "Huh. Wait- I have an idea!"
Cove looks up at Archie, "What is it?"
"Why don't we summon a demon slave and make it our friend?"
Collin tries to process and understand what Archie means, "What?"
"Well... HOW DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT? IT'S SO OBVIOUS!" Cove exclaims, excitedly.
Collin goes along with them, "Can we at least get a cool looking one?"
"Yeah, duh!" Archie smiles
Cove crosses his arms, proudly announcing, "Then it's settled, let's meet at the woods after school tomorrow" .
Archie and Collin nod their heads.
