Yakushi High Vs. Seido High 7

Inashiro Industrial, On the Practice Field.

Narumiya, Itsuki, Shirakawa, and Riku practiced their respective skills on the field.

"Seeing that match made my blood boil", said Narumiya as he continued throwing various pitches to the wall.

Riku nodded agreeing with him as he practiced his swing.

"What happened Narumiya Senpai? Sounds like something is bothering you", asked Itsuki stopping his practice.

"Nothing", grunted Narumiya.

"They went to the stadium to watch the finals. As soon as Narumiya came back, he dragged us here", explained Shirakawa.

"You went there! How was it?", asked Itsuki curiously.

"He's jealous", said Riku bluntly.

"What Narumiya Senpai jealous of someone!", said Itsuki shocked. 'Is that even possible?'.

"WHO SAID I'M JEALOUS? DON'T MAKE EVERYTHING UP BY YOURSELF!", exclaimed Narumiya.

"Then why are you so offended", said Shirakawa.

"Hmph! Whatever you say. I'm better than him after all I'm the number one pitcher in the Kanto region", said Narumiya gloating.

"I hate that face", muttered Shirakawa.

"Who are you talking about? How good is he?", asked Itsuki curiously. He needed to know who Narumiya Senpai was being wary of.

"Rei Fujikawa, Yakushi's Ace", said Riku.

"I know him! I saw his matches when he was with Seido. He does pitch fine but it's nothing that would threaten Narumiya Senpai", said Itsuki.

"You Naïve, Overconfident brat. Rei doesn't threaten me. He should be the one scared of me", said Narumiya pridefully.

Itsuki nodded agreeing with Narumiya.

"Rei has something that you lack as a pitcher, Narumiya. Don't let your guard down like before, our Ace", said Shirakawa mocking him. He still had a grudge against Narumiya for what he did against Ugamori.

Narumiya remained silent. He threw his ball and glove on the floor and knocked over a chair, to signify he was irritated. Sliding his hands in his pockets he walked back to his dorm.

"Childish. Itsuki, you wanted to know why Rei is better right? I'll tell you because Rei has the decisiveness and mentality to be an ace who can carry the weight of the team. While Narumiya's pride and ego get in the way of everything. He doesn't want to admit it, but he knows himself why Rei is a threat to us", commented Shirakawa as he walked back to the dorm as well.

Riku remained silent and continued practicing his batting. Itsuki followed Narumiya since he was worried about him.

Meanwhile back in the Stadium. The 4th inning, bottom has started and Yakushi is batting.

Everyone was in their positions when the siren rang signaling the start of the match.

Yonehara who was in the batter's box gripped the bat tightly not knowing what to expect of this new pitcher.

Miyuki signaled and Sawamura pitched, a fastball to the inside.

"Strike!", said the umpire.

Yonehara eyes widened surprised by the pitch. He had never seen such a weird pitching posture. He couldn't even see the pitching arm; it gets covered by his torso. 'Seido had such a pitcher', he wondered.

Unable to read the pitches, Yonehara was struck out.

In Yakushi's Dugout.

"How is his pitching?", asked Sanada seeing Yonehara come back.

"His pitching posture is weird, I thought his pitches were dirty, but they are challenging", said Yonehara putting his bat in the rack.

"I know we don't need to worry since we are 7 runs ahead of them. But don't relax out there and give It your all", said Rei.

The players nodded.

"If you don't listen to me then I'll put you through another training camp", said Rei smiling as he sat on the bench.

The players nodded meekly in reply.

"Moriyama what are you doing, go out there", said Raizou.

Moriyama came back to his senses and grabbed his bat. He walked to the batter's box.

"I think Sawamura has improved, his speed has increased significantly", commented Rei.

"He's the one that has a similar pitching style to me. Interesting, though I still think I'm better", said Sanada causing Rei to chuckle.

Back on the Field.

"Strike!", said the umpire.

Sawamura had struck out, Moriyama with his skills.

'2 outs. Sawamura is in good condition today. His speed and control are good, but his fastballs might not be enough for the other batters. These 2 didn't have good batting skills. But the next one in Yakushi's lineup has good batting control. We might have to use numbers, so far, we have practiced till number 2 but there are more unknown grips that Sawamura can't pitch yet. What incredible talent…', thought Miyuki smirking. He felt exhilarated knowing how much potential Sawamura has and what kind of a player he would become in the future.

Kazuma came to the batter's box next with a bat on his shoulder. He took his position in the batter's box.

Miyuki signaled and Sawamura pitched #1.

The ball broke as it came near the home plate. "Strike!", said the umpire.

This pitch shocked everyone in the dugout and especially Rei.

In Yakushi's Dugout. Rei was in deep thought, he wondered why Sawamura was able to pitch numbers and more importantly how many of them could he pitch now.

In Seido's' Dugout. Kataoka and Ochihai were shocked that Sawamura learned how to pitch a breaking ball in a few days. Nabe and Haruichi smiled happily for Sawamura. Furuya sat in the corner with a towel covering his head.

Back on the Field. Kazuma was struck out, he couldn't beat the numbers.

"3 Outs! Change!", said the umpire.

The audience cheered for Seido. They couldn't believe the 1st year southpaw held them back for this inning.

"Seido's 1st Year South Paw has held off Yakushi this inning!", said the announcer.

"OSH! OSH!", yelled Sawamura as he continuously pumped his fist victoriously.

"Shut Up!", said Kuramochi smacking him on his head.

Seido's Dugout greeted Sawamura back cheerfully. Ochihai Coach glanced at Sawamura, 'That cutter was impressive. I'll have to re-evaluate his potential'. While Kataoka coach remained silent.

In Yakushi's Dugout.

"Next inning, do everything to score even if we have runs, we must secure them. Don't get overconfident", said Rei warning the players.

'Why does it seem like he's a stricter coach than me', thought Raizou. He coughed getting the player's attention. "Do your best out there", he said.

"Hai!", exclaimed the players as they made their way to the field.

"What a great speech", said Rei as he passed by Raizou.

This ticked Raizou off. 'What kind of a player has no respect for their coach'.

Sanada chuckled seeing Raizou humiliated. It was always a delight in his eyes.
