53 Inashiro Vocational Vs. Seido High 4
Top of the 6th inning.
"Starting, right fielder, Shirasu", said the announcer.
"SHIRASU SENPAI", yelled players in the audience.
Mei struck Shirasu out.
"OUT!", yelled the umpire.
'Nothing special', thought Mei.
In Seido's Dugout.
"Narumiya's getting tensed up. You noticed it too, didn't you?", said Rei.
Miyuki nodded and said, "Since we are in the lead".
"I thought he was an ace but looking at his actions now. I'm doubting it", said Rei.
Back in the field.
Kuramochi came to bat next. He hit it straight to the center field.
"Safe", yelled the umpire. Kuramochi made it to the 1st base safely.
Ryosuke came to bat next. In hopes of getting Kuramochi on the 2nd base. He bunted.
"Out", said the umpire. Ryosuke was out but Kuramochi made it to the 2nd base.
Yuki came to bat next.
"YUKI- SENPAI"
"HIT IT"
"SEIDOOO"
Yelled the audience.
Yuki took his batting stance and Narumiya pitched.
Yuki hit the ball straight to the left field. He made it to the 1st base successfully while Kuramochi made it to the 3rd base.
Miyuki came to bat next.
"STEAL!", yelled Kouji suddenly.
Narumiya stopped himself from pitching and threw the ball to the base, but it was already too late as Kuramochi had reached the home plate successfully.
"SAFE!", yelled the umpire.
"YAAHAAA", yelled Kuramochi making it to the home plate safely.
Seido's bench was in an uproar.
"KURAMOCHI"
"YOU-SAN"
In Seido's Dugout.
"ASHI OBAKE!", yelled Sawamura.
"Eijun-kun…", said Harucchi.
Back in the Field.
'You're not ever going to hit it again', thought Narumiya pitching to Miyuki.
Miyuki was struck out.
"3 OUTS! CHANGE!", yelled the umpire.
'Damn it…Next time for sure', thought Miyuki going back to the dugout.
In Seido's Dugout.
"I'll leave it to you. Go Strike them out", said Miyuki smiling.
Rei nodded wearing his gear.
Back in the Field.
Bottom of the 6th inning.
Shinya came to bat and was struck out by Rei.
Carlos came to bat next.
'It must be luck…I don't believe that this 1st year could pitch like this', thought Carlos taking his position.
Rei pitched and Carlos swung and missed on each one of them.
In Inashiro's Dugout.
The atmosphere was quite dim.
No one was being motivated or anything. The whole dugout was silent and just watching the match each having their own thoughts.
'Seems like you have much to learn about being an ace', thought Hiroshige eyeing Narumiya who was sitting in the corner with his head down.
"WHY CAN'T YOU GUYS HIT THE DAMN BALL. IT'S NOT EVEN THAT HARD", yelled Narumiya breaking the silence.
"Then why didn't you hit it?", said Shirakawa as he stood up to go bat.
Harada sighed.
Narumiya groaned in response
Back in the Field.
Shirakawa came to bat next.
'Narumiya…something is wrong with him. He's always so confident so what happened?' thought Shirakawa taking his batting stance.
Rei struck Shirakawa out, not even giving him a chance.
"3 continuous strikes"
"Seido's in the lead".
"GOOD JOB, REI-SAN"
Cheered the audience.
In Seido's Dugout.
"R-E-I, oh sore…. R-E-I, oh sore…", said Sawamura as Rei returned to the dugout.
Furuya and Sawamura both had a cup of water ready for Rei this time.
"Calm Down, Eijun-kun", said Harucchi.
"Here", said Sawamura and Furuya giving the cups of water to Rei.
Rei nodded and took both cups. He sat on the bench to drink. He also had a towel to remove the sweat off him.
Miyuki opened his hand In front of Sawamura and said, "Where's mine?".
Sawamura had a confused look on his face.
"WATER", said Miyuki.
"Ah, Leader-in-training wanted one too. I had no idea. If you say you want one now, I can go get it", said Sawamura enthusiastically.
"Ah…Never mind", said Miyuki.
"I want to pitch…", muttered Furuya in the corner looking sullen.

Back in the field.
Top of the 7th inning.
Narumiya took the mound looking lost.
Masuko came to bat.
Harada signaled for a curve, but Narumiya shook his head denying the command.
Harada sighed and then signaled for a fastball to the in.
Narumiya nodded perfectly fine with it. He pitched and Masuko missed on the 1st pitch but on the 2nd, he hit the ball straight to the center.
Narumiya was shocked that the ball was hit. He sighed and pinched himself so he can focus on the match.
"SAFE!", said the umpire.
Masuko made it to the 2nd base safely.
"DOUBLE!"
"MASUKO-SAN", cheered the audience.
"GOOD JOB DES…MASUKO SENPAI", yelled Sawamura from the dugout.
Jun came to bat next.
Harada signaled for a change up again this time and Narumiya nodded.
Jun was struck out.
'Che…A Change up?', he thought walking back to the dugout.
Rei came to bat next.
"Hello!", said Rei bowing when he reached the batter's box.
'He sure is weird. Now can Mei pitch against him or not', thought Harada looking at Narumiya's expression.
Since he was calm Harada decided that Narumiya could pitch against him safely.
"Never again", muttered Narumiya as he threw a fork.
Rei didn't react to the pitch and let it pass.
"BALL!", yelled the umpire.
Narumiya tensed up more upon hearing the call. He took a deep breath and pitched again.
"BALL 2!", yelled the umpire.
"Time out!", said Harada as he walked up to Narumiya.
"Inashiro took their 'Time out' first!", said a person in the audience shocked.
"What are you doing? Are you going to keep pitching like this? You have been tensed up since the past few pitches", said Harada while sighing.
"I know…', said Narumiya meekly holding down his head.
"I'm just saying toughen up and act like the ace you are supposed to be. You might not know but Coach Hiroshige can switch you out even if you're the ace", said Harada shocking Narumiya.
Narumiya looked at the coach in the dugout. He never thought that he would be switched out.
"Ha…I'll try my best", said Narumiya as the confidence came back to him.
After a few minutes, in the field.
"Ball 4", said the umpire.
Rei dropped his bat and walked to the 1st base.
"NARUMIYA HAS WALKED SOMEONE!". This news shocked the whole audience as they didn't expect the best pitcher to walk someone.
Now Rei was on the 1st base and Masuko on the 2nd. There was only 1 out.
