Chapter 2: Nathaniel Clayton
The sudden ring from my phone woke me up, I quickly grabbed my phone on the side. Rubbing my tired eyes and let out a quiet yawn before I answered, "Good morning, Miss Summer. We'll be having a short meeting along with the director because you will be also meeting the main male lead of our film this afternoon at the company. I'm sorry I pronounced this late. Please prepare, Miss Summer and I'll be picking you up around 11:30."
"Okay, thank you" and dropped the call. I looked at my phone and it is already 9 in the morning. How long did I slept? I quickly rushed myself to the shower. There was no food in the fridge but only drinks and it hit me, Daphne doesn't' do groceries. I grabbed my phone and ordered Korean breakfast meal.
Trying to calm myself, I sit on the couch and scroll on Daphne's social media. She has tons of followers almost a million. She always received tons of likes whenever she posts. I looked at the photos on Daphne's photo library and saw tons of selfies and cute makeups. Daphne has her own duality, being pretty and hot.
A sudden knock on the door was heard. My stomach grumbled as I knew it was my ordered food, I can't wait to munch a Korean food. I opened the door and the delivery guy handed me my ordered Korean food. He stared at me as I gave him a tip. He couldn't believe it was me, Daphne.
He smiled and was honored to deliver food from a famous actress like me, he asked me to take a picture with him which I also agreed on. He thanked me and went his way, I shut my door and eat my Korean food. Thinking of how different I am to Daphne, I should act like her so that people won't be weirded out of how Daphne "change".
Daphne is a person that don't like much to entertain some people unless the person is famous or a part of her career. She is a person that likes to spend on luxurious things and likes to buy clothes that is an expensive brand. Daphne was like me at first, she was being called ugly and was bullied by her classmates of how plainly she looks. During high school, she confesses her feelings to a classmate and that is Nathaniel Clayton but was rejected of how she looks. From then, Daphne told herself not to fall in love with boys ever again. She tried her best to look pretty and reject the guys that confesses her, as she remembers how her first crush rejected her. She knew that boys only likes a girl when the person is pretty. After attending high school, she studied as a first year college student in a University and was later on recognized by a model agent from a modeling agency and that made her path to become an actress. She quit her college life and hone her skills to be a great actress.
Her life is now revolved around her career and will do her best to win the award to become the best actress. She has tons of fans and some were influenced by her, she posted some stuff that can boost a woman's confidence. Upon reading the first volume about her, she is a great kind of woman. I like how she is confident about everything she did.
I looked at my phone and it's already 10, I quickly finished my Korean food and curled my strawberry blonde pink hair and did a bit of makeup. Good thing, I watched some few tutorials on YouTube on how to do makeups.
I looked around the room but haven't found a closet, I noticed a brown mahogany door and opened it. Tons of outfits along with the bags and shoes was in the room. I was astonished by what I saw, Daphne has a ton of outfits in her closet. I'm not good at matching outfits, so I search up and look for outfit inspiration.
Wearing a light brown colored beret, a high waist plaided brown skirt that matches a mocha colored turtle-neck for the first time is surreal for me. I grabbed a white Chanel flap bag and paired the outfit with a brown low cut boots. Knowing that I'm Daphne now, I should take a selfie. An incoming call was in front of my screen, it was Mr. Smith. I answered, "Hello, I'll be meeting you down there. Just wait"
"Okay, Miss Summer" And I dropped the call. I put my condominium access card on my purse and locked the door and went my way. Mr. Smith was waiting outside the car, standing. I rushed towards him and he told me that we should go.
As we went our way to the company, I looked at the buildings sped past. It still feels surreal that I'm an actress. I'm Daphne.
"You might be thinking why do I have to meet another actor when we meet the other actors as we shoot. " Mr. Smith explains.
"The director and the others including me had a meeting and thought that we should let the actors and actresses meet before doing the film so that they can't have awkwardness before the film" Mr. Smith continued.
"and since you are the main character, we want you not to have awkwardness as we film. Just like the first romance film that we did, we keep retaking because you are embarrassed around the male lead." I nodded. So, Daphne is embarrassed around the male lead? I forgot that part on the book.
"And now since we will be having a romance film again that is called as "Loving You from Yesterday"
Interesting but what made me worried is that.. It is a romance film. I've never acted before. Shan knew that it couldn't be change since it was already sort. As they arrived at the company, Shan couldn't help but to feel anxious of who is the main male lead. As they arrived in the room where they would meet with the main male lead, Shan's eyes widened.
A pale blonde quiff haired guy around her mid 20s, wearing a white long sleeve outfit layered with an unbuttoned mocha-colored blazer that matches his light brown pants and brown Italians causal leather shoes.
It was Nathaniel Clayton.
Shan couldn't response but to stare, Nathaniel smiled at her. He walks towards Shan and casually greeted her with a "Hi"
It is Daphne's crush that rejected her when she was in high school. "I'm Nathaniel Clayton" Nathaniel said as reached his hand out to me.
This is for Daphne's career not for personal, "Daphne Summer" I said as I shake his hand.
"I'm looking forward working with you" Nathaniel said with a smile. I averted my gaze not because I'm embarrassed, I'm annoyed.
"You, two, sit down here. We'll discuss the film and why I gathered only the two main characters because I know you, Daphne" the director said as he looked at Shan. "That you are embarrassed around men during our films."
Shan heard Nathaniel muttered "cute" in a low voice. Shan looks at Nathaniel and Nathaniel averted his gaze.
"You should be natural, Miss Summer", Shan nodded. "Noted, director."
"And that's why I send you here to read these scripts. We'll be having our film to be shoot a week from now. Here are your scripts." The director said as he placed two printed scripts in front of Nathaniel and Shan. Shan picked the printed paper and skim on them. She reads a few sweet lines, she knew she'll do this with Nathaniel.
"That's the only reason why I have sent you here and let you Daphne feel comfortable around the male lead this time." Shan nodded. "Anyway, I'll be off now and that is only for today." The director said as he stood up. "Nice meeting you, Mr. Clayton" and shake Nathaniel hand.
Nathaniel smiled and looked at Shan, "Nice meeting you, Ms. Summer" and reach her hand. Shan shakes his hand out of business purposes, "Nice meeting you too"
"Please read the scripts and thank you for your cooperation", the director said as he went out of the room. Nathaniel went out along with his agent and followed by me.
I had the urge to go the restroom, I told Mr. Smith that I should go to a restroom first before I go back to the condominium. As I went out to the restroom, someone suddenly grabbed me and hugged me behind my back.
"Can't wait to work with you, my Clarah" Nathaniel's voice was husky that made me flushed. I faced Nathaniel and glared at him, "Huh! You still remember me huh?"
"Yes, the girl that I rejected on high school"
"Well, that girl was gone. And if you will excuse me.." Nathaniel suddenly blocked my way. "Be my girlfriend"
I was shocked by his proposal. I let out a laugh, "Sorry, I don't like to be your girlfriend and if you please excuse m—" He grabbed my wrist and his blue eyes stared back at me with a serious tone of his voice, "Be my pretend girlfriend"
