Chapter 92- The uncomfortable environment
Knock-Knock...
"Who is there?" Amber yelled, sounding annoyed.
"It's me."
She opened the door after a long silence, a cigarette between her fingers. She leaned against the doorframe laterally and looked at Earl with a scornful smile. "Your desire compels you to come to my door. What? You didn't find a whore to fuck with." She sucked the smoke and blew it in his face.
Earl turned his head aside. The smell of tobacco mixed with alcohol made him wrinkle his nose. There was a hint of concern in his eyes when he looked back at her. But he quickly returned to his stern expression.
"Declan invited us to dinner this weekend," he explained. "Let me know if you don't have any plans."
"Oh… my brother remembers that he has a sister!" She scoffed. "Well, he has changed after the marriage, I must say. How could I refuse when he invited me to dinner for the first time?"
"I will inform him then." He turned to leave.
