Chapter 224- Caroline's proposal
The sound of the clapping faded when Declan took his seat, where Gerald used to sit.
His emotions overtook him as he ran his fingers across the armrests. He lowered his gaze to the chair, recalling his father's many encouraging speeches in meetings. He had always wished for his father to relinquish this position, but not in this manner. He missed him and wished he was here with him, watching him with pride.
"Thank you for considering me for this position." He raised his head and looked around the rectangular conference table. "My father was able to take this company to this level because of your support. I believe you all will support me as well. We will work hard together to take the company to the next level."
The directors all cheerfully assured him that they would be there for him at all times.
