91 Chapter 89

Hi guys, I'm back!!

Sorry for the long unannounced hiatus. I was having some personal stuff and being pathetic and lame at the same time hehe. You know, sometimes self doubt and insecurities creep in once in a while. That's why I said it's pretty lame.

"Welcome back Alex!" Chloe happily cheered, her joyful voice echoed in the meeting room.

Dana just shakes her head at Chloe's at Chloe's interruption though she couldn't help but smile herself. Too many things have happened and Alex's presence is indeed a happy occasion.

"Okay Chloe that's enough." Dana said, putting a stop to a now clapping Chloe. "And, welcome back Alex. It was really nice to have you back." She said turning to Alex who just smiled shyly.

"Hey Dana, let's welcome Dan too. Welcome to our Team, Dan! I'm so glad you'll be joining us though it wouldn't hurt if you had joined us last week. I was so lonely being alone here in the office." Chloe pouted. With Dana gone on a business trip with the president, Vera being terminated and Alex going on for an extended medical leave, she was left all alone with no one to talk to. For a chatty person like her, that is pure torture.

Alex winced at Chloe's words. Somehow he felt guilty as he felt like he was the reason Chloe was left alone at the office. Vera got terminated because of him and he was on an extended leave because Keith wouldn't allow him to come to work without him. Although he used up that week to make up with his brother, still it made him a bit guilty.

"Chloe's right. Welcome to the team Dan. I'm looking forward to working with you." Dana said, giving Dan a warm smile.

Dan, on the other hand, doesn't know how to react. He still felt like he shouldn't have accepted the offer to transfer to the Executive department but he couldn't help but be practical about it. An Omega like him will not have another opportunity to work on a multinational company and be offered a permanent position on the get go. Maybe the president is doing it because of his friendship with Alex which makes it all the more reason for him to feel guilty about it. In his mind, he failed as a friend and he doesn't deserve any of this.

Alex glanced at his friend who still hasn't said a word to him since they came into the office. He knew Dan at the back of his hand and the other Omega is still definitely feeling guilty about what happened even though his parents already told him it's not his fault. Alex made a mental note to settle things with his friend by today.

"Okay! That's enough, let's get down to business." Dana said, clapping her hands to get the attention of the three people inside the room. "So, changes are going to happen when it comes to our workload, it will be tough for a few days give or take a month or two, however I trust that we can work together to fulfill all the deliverables from this team." Dana said in a stern voice. "Chloe will take over the work Vera has left, so she will be working with me closely. On the other hand, Dan and Alex will both assist Chloe on her previous tasks and anything else that she needs help with. Both of you still have over two months left with your internship so you will share the tasks for now, however once that period is done and Dan becomes a full time employee, you have to take responsibility for all the tasks." Dana said. Dan nodded in response while Chloe grinned and clapped enthusiastically.

"Hey Alex, what about you? Are you gonna stop working here after your internship?" Chloe asked. "Well if I were the partner of the president I wouldn't need to work as well." Chloe added.

Alex's face flushed at Chloe's question, though he knew the Beta doesn't mean any harm but he was flustered nonetheless.

"Chloe." Dana called out with a warning. Chloe is a good employee and very friendly and chatty but sometimes she can be tactless.

"It's alright." Alex replied when he finally got his composure back. "I'm not sure yet what I will do after the internship but I have something I need to focus on first."

Dana nodded in understanding and quickly warned Chloe with her eyes when the other Beta tried to ask Alex further questions.

"Anyway, Dana we should go on a team dinner. We should celebrate Alex's comeback and Dan's transfer."

"Hmmm, that's a good idea. We should schedule one soon." Dana agreed.

"Yay! Free food and free drinks with good people." Chloe exclaimed.

"Oh, I can't drink." Alex said, raising his hand. "Ahmm.. it's bad for the baby."

Chloe gasped and kept saying "Oh my God" while Dana and Dan just looked on silently. Both of them knew about the pregnancy already.

"Enough chit chat. Both of you can go back to your desks already. I still have some things to discuss with Chloe." Dana said to the two Omegas. "And Alex, you can bring the president his morning coffee."

Alex headed to the pantry to follow Dana's instruction while Dan gestured that he will head to his desk. It didn't sit well with Alex that his friend could not meet him in the eye and it fueled his determination to settle things with Dan as soon as possible.

"Here's your coffee Sir." Alex said as he put down the cup on Keith's desk.

"Sir?" Keith couldn't help but raise his brows at what Alex just called though he just shrugged it off as Alex being his adorable self like usual. Keith is at that point where everything Alex does looks adorable to him.

Keith pushed his chair away from his desk, half expecting Alex to come to him but his wife just stood there hugging the tray he used to bring the coffee.

"Are you not going to give me a hug?" Keith asked. Alex loves burying his face at the crook of his husband's neck, Keith thinks it's because of the pregnancy and he's loving it that is why he's trying to enjoy it as much as he can.

"No, we're at the office." Alex replied nonchalantly.

"What? What do you mean we are at the office, that doesn't stop you before. You we're even doing that in front of Martin last time—

"Stop!" Alex interrupted before Keith could finish his sentence. His face is all red from remembering that time inside the car. "Aherm!" Alex cleared his throat to hide his embarrassment. "Anyway, now that people at the office know about our marriage, I don't want them to think I'm just using your status as the president to not properly do my job. In this office, you are the boss and I am the intern before anything else."

"Well, you can still do your job and flirt with me, you know." Keith countered, amused.

"Flirting at the office is a big fat No. I.. I c-can f-flirt with you at home though." Alex replied while shyly looking away.

Keith couldn't help hiding the smile forming in his face. "Okay Mrs. Andersen you're the boss. I will gladly follow the rules."

"Very well said Mr. Andersen." Alex said smiling. "Oh by the way I will not join you for lunch so go out and eat with Martin instead."

"What? I can't even have lunch with you now?" Keith asked, raising his eyebrows at his wife.

"Hmm just for today or rather a few more times from today. It's Dan's first day here and I miss my friend so I want to spend some time with him." Alex explained. "I miss my friend that if I don't do anything we might drift apart permanently." Alex added in his head.

Keith sighed. "Okay fine. I can't say no to you anyway. Once we get home, I'll have you all to myself. I won't allow anyone to disturb us." Keith replied determinedly, making Alex giggled.

"Hey, Mr. Andersen, I have something to tell you." Alex whispered as he leaned on Keith's desk, gesturing for his husband to move closer which Keith did as instructed. "Thank you." Alex whispered before giving his husband a quick peck on the cheeks.

"I thought no hanky panky Mrs. Andersen?" Keith asked, staring at his wife and trying his best not to jump him right now.

"That's your reward for being an obedient husband." Alex replied before heading towards the door while skipping happily. He immediately started walking normally as soon as he opened the door.

"Finally! Lunch time! Let's go, I'm famished." Chloe happily announced. Dana readily agreed and grabbed her wallet while Dan was also about to do the same.

"I'm sorry, Dan and I can't join you. We already have our food at the pantry. We'll just join you next time." Alex said, waving goodbye to the two Betas. Keith asked Colin to buy their food and it's already been prepared at the pantry.

"Ahmm, Alex I-I c-can eat at the cafeteria, y-you can have your lunch with the boss." Dan said while avoiding Alex's eyes.

"No. Keith is having lunch with Martin so you have no choice but to eat with me." Alex said with a firm voice. He grabbed Dan's wrist and dragged him to the pantry.

The two friends sat down facing each other with Alex happily gobbling down the food. He's been craving Japanese and the food Colin ordered from is extremely delicious.

"How long are you gonna play with your food?" Alex blurted out, surprising Dan who almost dropped his chopsticks to the ground.

"I-I'm sorry."

Alex sighed and put down his chopsticks. "How long are you gonna mope and feel guilty? There's nothing to feel guilty about, it was never your fault. If anything, you were the reason Bean and I were saved. If you didn't ask for help that time you were trapped, Colin wouldn't know we were in danger. It was actually you who saved us. Us Omegas are seen as meek and weak and the only time we can be sassy and bitchy is when we are together. So I need my friend back so I can be sassy and bitchy again even just for a few hours in a day."

"Alex…"

Alex reached over to Dan and wipe his friend's tears. "Okay, repeat after me. Alex I'm glad you and Bean are okay and I will gladly be Bean's godparent."

"I will?" Dan asked, surprised.

"Of course who else would it be? You saved Bean's life and you are my best friend. I'm sure my little Bean would be blessed to have you as a godparent."

"Thank you Alex." Dan smiled as he cried happily. His chest felt lighter.
