Chapter - 14
(Mia P.O.V)
After 2 days.
"Mia Mathis, I have come to take my report," I said to the nurse in the reception.
"Please wait here, I will be back soon with your result," she said and walk toward the doctor cabin.
"I hope I didn't have to wait here for a longer time like the previous time," I told to myself with a sigh.
"Mia," I heard a familiar voice and turn to see my old friend Erika standing behind me.
"Erika," I said shocked to see her here.
"How are you, my friend? long time no see huh?" she asks and hugs me.
"How are you, Erika? it's indeed a long time since we saw each other long time," I said hugging her back.
"I'm fine, I hope everything is okay with you, and I hope it isn't serious the reason you are here for," she said being the drama queen she is. You see Erika is my childhood friend we were together since kindergarten until she goes to New York for her
further studies.
"Of course, I am here to collect my report because I am going to travel abroad," I said with an assuring smile on my face.
"It's about the scholarship, in the college of my dreams in Spanish," I said while grinning at her.
"I am glad to know that," she said while smiling at me. As on the cue, the nurse walks towards us with my report.
"It seems that everything is going well and you are absolutely fine," a nurse said while checking my report.
"Thank you very much," I said and about to take the result from her when she said something that confused me.
"I would advice you to visit the gynecologist also," she said giving me my report.
"Why?" I ask puzzled.
"I am sure that you know you are pregnant, right?" she asks unsure, shocking me to the core.
"What? you are pregnant?" Erika asks me while narrowing her eyes at me.
"What no way! Don't you think I would have known if I was pregnant?" I ask my friend and she nodded her head at me.
"But you are, you are 3 weeks pregnant don't tell me you don't know it?" the nurse said narrowing her eyes at me.
"Me pregnant?" I ask and started laughing.
"I'm serious, if you don't believe me then look at your report miss," she said to me.
"Look what there are no mistakes here the results are not mine," I said to her while glaring at her.
"I want to talk with the doctor now," I said still glaring at her.
"Wait until I call you," she said and run away from me.
"Do you think that it was a mistake," Erika asks.
"Of course it is there is no possibility for me to be pregnant," I said while glaring at her.
*How dare she doubted me. Don't she knows me well?* I thought.
"I'm the one who first saw the result, congratulations," a woman who I guess was a doctor said to me while smiling at me.
"Congratulations for what?" I asked in a bored tone.
"for my pregnancy right?" I ask and started laughing while holding my stomach while Erika looks at me like I was crazy.
"Thank you but I am not pregnant, there is no possibility for me to be pregnant," I said to the doctor.
"Do you know why?" I ask.
"I haven't ever had a boyfriend, I have never kissed someone let alone has sex with someone, " I said while glaring at her.
"Can you explain to me how can I be pregnant when I am still a virgin?" I ask her.
"Please miss there may be a mistake, we are going to take a test again okay," she said trying to calm me down.
"Of course, we are going to repeat it," I said while running my hands on my face.
"Come to my office to repeat the test again please," she said and lead me to her office.
We did everything again and I waited for some time in the hospital for my results. They tell me to go home because it's
already late and the reports are going to take time and that they will call to inform me as soon as they arrived so now I walk
towards my home.
*It's impossible* I thought while taking shower.
*But what if I really am?* I thought.
*No you aren't Mia, there is no possibility of it, it surely a mistake* I said while shaking my head.
"The dinner is ready honey, are you okay," she asks from another side of my washroom getting worried about me.
"I am coming mom," I said while getting out of the shower. I get dressed and walk downstairs to have dinner.
"How was the result?" she asks and I got tense.
"A mistake happened and I have to repeat the test," I said while eating my supper.
"A mistake, what kind of mistake," she asked.
"Let's not talk about it, it's embarrassing," I said looking down at my food.
"Ok, and when are you going to leave?" she asks.
"Next weekend," I said while walking toward the shink with my empty plate.
"I will go to my room, I am feeling a little bit tired," I said walking towards my room.
"Okay, good might sweetie," she said smiling at me.
"Good night mom," I said entering my room.
For a few hours, I tried to sleep but I can't able to sleep. The whole scene that happens in the hospital keep running in my
mind.
