What is education?

Prathap drops them at Kala's residence which off 3 kilometers away from Kalyan's house. Her house is scattered away from the village, a lonely house in a huge farm field. Kala's father is a farmer who has 30 acres of land. Kala is the youngest of three sisters. Her mother and sisters are waiting for them at her house. With Kala's entrance, the house is adorned.

Her two sisters share their childhood photos with her pals, who begin to tease her while looking at them. Kala's house is decorated like an art gallery, with even the smallest detail painted. Kala and her sisters are Madhubani painters. Madhubani is an Indian painting style that employs a variety of instruments such as fingers, brushes, sticks, and nib-pens.

Kalyan is attracted by that art he desperately wants to learn Madhubani, yes! We want to learn this, please teach it, all friends insist three sisters.

They begin by making the colours for the painting, which are made from rice powder paste. They use that to quickly prepare the necessary colours for the painting. On a small canvas, they continue to work. They begin with a simple notion that incorporates birds, flowers, plants, and people, eventually transforming into a natural landscape with no gaps.

They go to the farm after finishing the painting. The orchard is covered in rare plants and trees, all of which appear to be in good health and have been well-cared for. While Kala's father watered the plants, friends enter the farm. His hands are smeared with muck, his face is browned, sweat drips off his well-curved body, and his eyes are twinkling. She is his favourite of her three sisters, and her presence makes his face glow like a full moon. She introduces him to all of her friends.

He brings them freshly harvested fruits after enquiring about her well-being. They all like the distinct flavour of luscious fruits. They settle under a flourished mango tree and enjoy the fruits one by one. He inquires about their education, hostel accommodations, and other amenities. They answer to each inquiry politely.

Uncle, this beautiful farm is the culmination of your hard work; are you happy with the results?" Syam asks.

"Yes, I am pleased with the results, but this was not the case when we first started this farm. I used to be reliant on the weather, a lack of water supply, plants dying regularly, and a beed problem in between. I tried various cropping methods and tried trial and error to solve each problem, but it was an experiment for me at first." Kala's dad.

"You are great uncle" Sudha.

"You know one thing, Dad did his graduation in agriculture and he is the first graduate in this village." Kala says proudly.

"How did you get that farming idea uncle?" Kalyan asks.

"Could you please answer my question, why should we educated?" Kala's father.

"To get a job" Sidhu.

"To have a better future" Kala.

"To get a better wife" Rajesh.

"To reach our goal" Syam.

"I don't know the answer; I am searching the answer for this question actually." Kalyan.

"So, there you have it!

If you are studying the arts, technology, engineering, medicine, or some other course, few people like it, few don't like it, and few don't know whether they like it or not. Whatever course you are taking, whatever your status, you must learn about yourself, your inner feelings, opinions, likes and dislikes, and other things that are much more important than your schooling. It is not a true success unless you think about yourself but get a decent job or achieve your dream or have a better future.

When you think about yourself, you'll know exactly what you want to do with your life, whether it's a minor or a great job, you completely enjoy it.

I've figured out what my inner feelings are, and I've discovered that I'm emotionally attached to farming. Working with nature gave me a great deal of pleasure, so I went into this field." Kala's father.

Several doubts in Kalyan's mind get out of it at that movement. He deliberately tells "Yes you are correct uncle, we have to learn about ourselves then we will know what we want in life."

"Take a look at the art you did this morning; you had a canvas, and your painting was beautiful because you knew what you wanted to put on the canvas before you starting; life is also a canvas, and your life would be painted colourfully if you know what you want in life; education is a tool in between." Kala's father concludes.

Education is not what we learn at schools and colleges. Did Kalyan and his friends learn the meaning of education?
