33 Search For A Broker II

Ezra who stood with his hand in his pockets suddenly saw two legs driving towards his chest. Just at the last moment, when it seemed like he was going to be hit, his body bent backwards so that his face now faced the sky above.

Dark.

'So slow?'

The legs stopped, and immediately, a follow up attack launched, and the legs descended, attempting to hit Ezra and crush him into the ground.

BAM!

Dust rose.

But the was no one there.

"Don't live in the past." A voice came from behind the two men.

They turned to see that Ezra was standing, unharmed, and his hands still in his pockets.

'He's fast. That was actually an after image we hit.'

'Didn't even need to take out his hands.'

The men noted.

Though they couldn't tell what level he was at, Ezra could tell what level they were at. Now seeing their performance, he was sure they used at least 70% of their full strength just then.

'It will take some time, but I'd come out victorious.' Ezra conformed.

Ezra didn't say anymore and just waited for the men to make their assessment. There was no need to be talking too much.

"Sorry for the earlier behavior. We needed to do the test." One of the men in suits said, with a slight bow.

'Power rules, huh? I doubt they would treat me the same if I was weaker.' After all, if he was stronger than they who were C rank, that meant he was of a higher rank.

Even in bigger 1st world countries, B ranks were well respected, it wasn't easy to be that powerful after all. They had their level of pristine, amongst their fellow hunters, and even more with the common populace. Now, talk less of a small country…

The two men followed up by leading Ezra towards their vehicle, an expensive looking car, no joke there.

'This thing has to be at least bulletproof!'

Sometime later, they arrived at their destination. Surprisingly, unlike what Ezra had thought, the place he was taken to was at that point, in the heart of the city. Right along the Millionaires' quarters where the rich lived. Totally not what he expected.

'Well, they say hide within your enemies, where they would never expect.'

The car parked moments later, and he was guided into the big mansion, it was more like a villa, though.

Ezra was immediately taken towards the elevator, which was a bit weird, since the house was not even a story building.

The elevator started moving, down.

There was no indication of what floor and any of the sorts inside the elevator, so Ezra had little idea. After a while, the elevator stopped and they exited into a room completely painted white, with black furniture for the contrast.

The one who brought him down simply stood beside the elevator as if guarding it, so Ezra didn't bother with him and walked inside himself.

"Welcome! My guest! I heard you were looking for me!" A voice came from the side, as someone walked into the room from Ezra's right, holding a wine glass containing red content, which Ezra presumed to be wine.

"So, you came looking for me cause you want a dungeon? As you know, this is underground, it ain't so easy. You can't just burst in here and table shit like that, it doesn't work like so." At this point, the wine glass in Rolf's hand had been emptied. He was the one Ezra came looking for.

He decided to test Ezra gain, which was a bad idea obviously. It only led to them having a serious discussion with two bodies on the floor close to them.

"Let's get straight to the point here, you trying to intimidate me won't work, besides, my profit is also your profit." Ezra said, a bit irritated, but he kept his cool.

"I like you, you've got some spunk kid. Tell me, what do you want?" Rolf said. Things were moving faster than anticipated for him.

"I'm looking for a dungeon from you because I don't want to be tracked through guilds, I know you can provide that. Also, we should form a contract. I don't have the money to pay, but then you can get a percentage of whatever I make. Let's make the shares, I get 70% and you get 30%." Ezra said.

"Hmm, no problem there, but considering other things, it might not be enough. I still have to bring my people with you to raid, or do you have a team of your own?" Rolf asked.

"I won't need your team, all I need are people to deal with excavation and mana crystals."

"Alright, then you have your own team then. Sounds good." 'After all, it will be some C rank gates and the likes, not much to be made there.'

"Why don't we draft a contract right here? No need to take too much time." Ezra said.

Rolf got up to look for a plain paper and pen. After drafting a temporary contract and both of them signed and made the agreement, it was scheduled for them to meet the following week for the actual contract.

'hmm… Is there a need to specify it?' Ezra thought to himself, but he left it as is.

"I'll contact you later. If something comes up, you can call this line." Ezra said, as he stood up and saw himself out of the place.

While Rolf wasn't looking, he had picked his business card, so he had his number now. After leaving his, he left the building.

'Dealing with weaklings is quite easy, but I need more strength. Two C rank hunters are already a bit tasking for me.'
