4 Return to the game (2)

The main reason why Chris waited till the last moment to buy the crates was because it would cause a storm. When people see that the crates disappear, many would buy the other crates as much as possible, which would be a major deviation from what originally happened.

The top two tier crates were not purchased as the gamers were in the dark about what exactly a crate offers them. So they didn't buy them, as they decided to buy them based on what they found in the gold crates. It was a good choice.

From what Chris heard not all Gold and Silver crates were sold. There was no mention of how many were sold as there was no limit on the bronze crates.

If someone buys the crates more than they were supposed to, it would be a shitstorm and he wasn't powerful enough to survive. It wouldn't matter once he was strong as things would change with him present in the game, months before he was supposed to enter.

He has no proper idea about what exactly the crates give them but he had seen that the ones who brought gold crates were all in the top category. If too many appear, things will change. So he decided to not give them a chance to think about buying more as time wouldn't be enough once he got his crates.

Even if others saw that they wouldn't be able to do anything.

[Iris scanned. Confirmed user, Chris Shade.]

[Do you want to enter the game, Abyssal Invasion Online: Realms.]

[Yes/No]

"Yes"

[User identified as first-time entry.]

[Please create your character.]

[Name your character.]

"Voyd"

[Character name set to 'Voyd']

[Please select your race.]

Right after the prompt came, various options appeared.

[Human] [Dwarf] [Gnome] [Elf] [Orc] [Troll] [Giant]

These are the common ones that one can choose when starting but they can change their races as the game progresses. It all depends on how they do things in this world.

"Human", Chris chose.

Though humans don't have any racial benefits, they are the most evolvable species. They can choose whatever evolution tree they want and gain the strength they want.

Though it was only partially why he chose the reason. The main reason was what would happen when Version 3.0 was released.

[Please select your faction.]

[Virtous] [Neutral] [Evil]

If the races are broadly classified, they were classified into these three groups. One can understand what they represent from their names.

The "Virtuous" action would want to protect the peace of the world and innocents from unnecessary deaths.

The "Evil" faction was the exact opposite. They would kill innocents and want to see the world burn.

The "Neutral" faction is a broad faction. There was no single role they played. Most of them are ones who don't want to be sandwiched between the other two factions.

Since Chris chose "Human" as his race, he got all three factions.

"Virtuos faction", he chose.

It is the only way one would earn a lot of reputation and merit points and be on the right side.

[Please choose a profession category.]

[Combat] [Creator]

The combat professions are what people need for combat, while the Creator professions are what one needs to craft something.

"Combat"

[Please choose a basic profession from the following.]

[Archer] [Assassin] [Mage] [Priest] [Warrior]

"Mage"

Chris chose the mage profession as it was what he chose last time. He knew a lot about it and how to use the profession well. So it would be detrimental if he chose some other profession.

[Player please check your status before entering the game. Also, you can now open the crates you brought.]

"My status panel was the same as the last time. Nothing has changed", he muttered.

How could he change his stats in such a short time?

If he was sent weeks or months before the game even began, he would have easily improved himself, at least in strength which was the weakness of a mage.

He didn't have that chance but he was happy that he even got a chance to right some of the wrongs and to make sure he would live without any regrets.

Not many would get such a chance, if not none.

He was ready to dive into the game when a prompt appeared.

[Would you like to open the crates?]

"How could I forget that now?" he smacked his head.
