22 Hunting, Levelling and Earning Gold (3)

Three days!

For three days, Chris did nothing but hunt monsters and earn gold in the game. He would only go out to either make meals or spend some time with his sister.

His sister usually never paid any attention to whatever he did. She always believed that whatever he did was for them. Even though she saw the game capsule, she didn't ask him about it. After all, all these years he did everything for her and only for her. He has the right to enjoy a few days.

Moreover, the school reopened for the students after the holidays. So now, his sister would leave in the morning, only to return in the evening. So there was more time for him to hunt monsters and level up faster continuously.

There aren't as as many people in the game too after the holidays. Sure they enjoyed the game on the first day, but most returned to their daily lives the next day. Only the professional gamers continued, as it was their job to play games to earn.

In addition to them, the only regular players were the ones who didn't have jobs in real life.

As of now, it was still treated as a game, not a real world. Only when people start to see that they could bring the power in the game to reality, they would invest more into the game.

The first surge though, was caused when the game developers introduced Real World money conversion.

When the powers manifested, the rich started to convert their cash into game gold, so that they could gain the maximum benefits and sure they did.

There was a condition in the kingdoms. To procure lands outside city or town areas, as personal grounds, one has to obtain a noble status. This can be achieved by merit. Earn a lot of merit and become a noble.

Though this can't be gained through money, resources like skills, spells and gear can be brought by gold. The rich used their wealth to buy the best equipment available and were able to clear the quests faster. They gained merit easily and many rich persons gained titles like Barons and a few became Viscounts too.

They would have become higher nobles if not for the stringent conditions to achieve the titles.

Chris was aiming for them too, but he was something more. This kingdom was the first to experience the Abyssal Invasion and it would be the test time to achieve a high position in this world. To be able to do that, he needed to be powerful.

To be powerful, he needed resources and dungeons were the best way to gain resources. He didn't go out to look for a dungeon because he was weak and gaining them would only put him in the crosshairs of someone powerful.

He already died once and has no wish to go through that again.

One thing he learned in his past life was that even gods fall. There was no such thing as unbeatable. Sure you may be unbeatable in a duel but who is to say that your enemy wouldn't poison your food or strike you in your sleep?

Fear, this is what would keep you alive. You should fear but shouldn't be controlled by it.

He was preparing for the day that the world would know his name. It should be on his own terms, not on someone else's terms.

---

Finally, after hunting continuously, Chris was finally able to level up twice and reach level 20.

It was the disadvantage of this game. As you progress, not only it would be difficult to level up, but the EXP gained would also reduce by a lot. Even with his EXP Buff skill, Chris took three days to reach level 20. It was also the reason why many gamers gave negative reviews in the beginning.

Only after the money conversion update did some positive reviews come.

[You have levelled up.]

[You have levelled up.]

[You have reached level 20.]

[You have gained +10 WIS and +60 FAPs.]

[You are now eligible to learn a sub-class.]

Chris decided to use the FAPs now. He is now level 20 and now it is time to venture into deeper parts of the forest.

Moreover, he is now an E-rank adventurer and can now take on a bit more difficult tasks. Adding the FAPs to his status would protect him better.

He added +65 to WIS and +100 to INT, bringing them both to 300 value. He added +100 to VIT and AGI, bringing their value to 200, leaving behind 40 FAPs.
