2 Changing his path
The boy looked at his cute sister and said, smiling, "Abby, didn't you ask that you wanted to go the zoo today?"
When the girl heard the word zoo, she lowered her defences, "Yes, can we?" she asked with a hint of doubt in her voice.
"Yes we can", the boy answered.
The girl shouted and jumped in joy. The zoo got her mood changed pretty quickly.
"We can go to the zoo in the evening", the boy said immediately deflating her enthusiasm.
"But I wanted to go now", she said, pulling her puppy eyes. Whenever she did that, it would most likely work, except for a few times. So this was the best weapon she had in her arsenal against her brother.
Looking at his sister the boy smiled, but shook his head, "Abby, I have things to do in the morning. Once I return we can go to the zoo in the evening. Moreover, I have a surprise for you later".
Hearing him say surprise, she wanted to know what it was but the boy didn't budge.
Defeated she was about to return to her sleep.
The boy stopped her, "Abby, I'll be out. When I am not here, don't open the door to anyone".
The girl nodded and went back to sleep. She had nothing to do for the day anyway, so she slept.
The boy refreshed and left home, making sure it was locked properly. He doesn't need to be afraid about his sister's safety. There was a different lock for her room. So even if someone breaks into the house, they have to go through another lock to enter the girl's room.

The boy directly went to a game store. Originally he would have gone to work as usual. His sister had festival holidays but he didn't. Especially now when there are more sales than usual, he wouldn't get any holidays.
Last time he entered the game late and missed a lot of things. This time, he didn't want that to repeat. There are many things that he knew about the game and he would make sure that he gained as many benefits as possible.
"Welcome sir, what are you looking for?" a young girl attendant of the store asked him as soon as he entered.
"I am looking for Xavilon-XR-V12", the boy said.
This device was something that could help the gamers enter the virtual world to play the game, Abyssal Invasion Online: Realms. There are plenty of other devices but this was the best to play this game as this device was introduced by the same company that released the game.
No one knew of this fact and many who didn't possess the device lost the chance of gaining benefits from this. It happened because they used different names.
Xavilon Online is the company that produced the devices.
Entrench Games Ltd, is the one which released the game.
Everyone assumed that they were different companies but the truth was revealed later.
The ones that gained benefits because they had the device didn't publish it, because if everyone gains a benefit, it wouldn't be called a benefit. They would lose their upper hand. So everyone kept mum about it.
"Okay, that would cost 10,000 dollars sir", the girl said.
"Okay", he said and took out his credit card.
Ever since his parents died the boy lived frugally, so that his sister would benefit. He did that because unlike him, she had to grow up without their parents. Though he was considered a child, he was a teenager whereas his sister was three, when they died.
He wanted to fill that hole with something. So he used most money on her and saved as much as he could for her college.
Now with the game that could decide whether they live or die, saving money for college didn't sound like the better option. Even if he uses it up, with the real cash economy the game provides, he can earn a lot. So it won't be a bother.
"Sir, can you give me your details and where should we deliver the device to?" the girl asked, after checking whether the card had sufficient amount or not.
The device is not a small one and the installation is not something he could do. Qualified technicians are required for it.
"My name is Chris Shade and I would like it to be delivered to...", Chris gave them the details of his house and time he would be available to receive it.
Once it was done he left the store for work. There are still three days before the launch and he decided to keep working. It would be a waste to not work the last few days of the month. After all, it wouldn't be easy to earn high in the early weeks. So he has to save where he can and spend where he should.
"Thank you for your patronage", the girl smiled and provided him with the receipt as proof of his buy.
Once he was done he left for the grocery shop where he works. Today he would tell the owner that he was leaving the shop. It doesn't matter as the owner was looking to sell the shop and there was a chance that Chris would lose his job there.
He didn't know that last time and lost his job when the shop was sold and was jobless for a time which caused some problems for him. It was then he came to know of the game and how people were earning money. So he decided to enter the game.
He lost a lot of opportunities and this time around, he wouldn't.
