4 New Siblings

Life with Reida and Felaud was relatively quiet for Amari. They hunted, ate, and slept together. That was it for six months.

By the time he was ten months old, he looked like a three-year-old child. It'd taken a shorter time for him to look older this time. Amari only suspected he would look older despite his age and the time it took would only decrease.

'Demons are kinda fucking trippy,' he whistled every time he looked at his body.

Other than those few improvements, Amari and his parents lived peaceful lives for the most part.

Until a few weeks later.

"What should I do?" Amari yelled, looking at Felaud for help.

"I don't know! What are you looking at me for?!" the wolf screamed back, his usual gruffy voice going up a few notches.

"Were you not the one that implanted the seed? It's your fault that she's like this in the first place. This is your responsibility!"

"What do you know about responsibility, boy?"

"Clearly I know more than you!"

Reida looked at both of them and howled in pain.

"I swear to God, I'll end you both after this!"

"We're sorry!"

She held a wobbly paw up and pointed to Amari, "Go get Tamira, she'll know what to do!"

'Right, Tamira!'

He dashed out of the cave without another word and headed towards Tamira's Den.

She was a wolf just like Reida and Felaud, just not of the same species. Rather than Shadow Dweller Wolf, Tamira was a Wind Wolf, a fairly common species of demon beast. Tamira also had more childbirth experience.

Her fourth litter had already begun to start families.

Amari easily found Tamari's den.

"Hello, uncles. I need to see Aunty Tamira. It's urgent," He said, bowing briefly at the guards standing in front of her den.

They were all much shorter than Reida or Felaud, but bigger than any wolf would have been. Their green furs remained untouched by the wind, and each step they took was reminiscent of the wind's grace and unpredictability.

"No need to be so polite, Raion'shalang, we'll take you to see her right away." One of them nodded back and beckoned Amari to follow him.

Unlike Shadow Dweller Wolves whom Amari learned preferred to live in pairs, Wind Wolves lived and hunted in packs.

Their den wasn't as spacious as he was used to. Every wolf had its own space to live and sleep. Several little squabbles and fights broke out from time to time, and another wolf always had to step in and break things up.

'It reminds me of Earth but with a deeper harmony than most humans,' he thought to himself, returning some of the hungry gazes that bore down on him.

"Alright we're here. I will not be able to lead you further than this" the wolf guard said then turned to leave.

Amari glanced at the guard, then at the vague room-like entrance. It was still a small cave in the den. However, with the drape of vines falling from the roof, it felt more personalized and homey than the other wolves' dens.

He stepped into the cave hurriedly, unwilling to look at the improvised decor

"Well, hello my adorable nephew," Tamira said even before he saw her.

"Did you know I was coming, Aunty?" he asked, looking at the large green-furred wolf sitting in the center of the cave.

She was similar in size to Reida, and probably as strong as her. Amari couldn't make sense of it anyway.

[Name: Tamira]

[Species: Tornado Wolf (Luna)-- Wind Wolf Variant]

[Race: Demon Beast]

[Rank: Higher Demon Beast]

[Attributes: ????]

"Of course, as soon as you stepped out of your den," she teased beckoning Amari to come forward.

He'd always felt uncomfortable with Tamira. She always made everything sound overly sexual. Felaud didn't like her either.

'Well, maybe he's attracted but scared of what would happen if he did...'

"So do you know why I'm here?" he prodded, maintaining a small distance between her and himself.

Tamira chuckled lightly at his antics and scooched closer to him. A paw landed on his forehead, provoking a sigh. There was no way he was getting away from her now

Almost witch-like, she cackled, "I guess it wasn't for a fun time, was it?".

"Ew, noooo! Don't you realize I'm just ten months old?"

Tamira eyed him hungrily then rolled her eyes.

"I've told you that you aren't fooling me with that. I'm not your dumb parents. I can tell from your eyes that you've definitely lived quite a life."

Now Amari rolled his eyes.

He sweated inwardly. Tamira was back at it again.

"Well, even if that's true... which it isn't," he picked up a paw and stepped back. "That isn't what I came here for!"

Tamira sighed.

"Yeah, I'm aware Reida is in labour."

"Then why didn't you start with that from the start? Come on, we have to hurry, she's in pain!"

Tamira nodded, then picked Amari up and placed him on her back. Amari felt a wave of remembrance from that gesture and gripped her green fur with curiosity.

'Yeah, she's an overly sexual person. What's her story, though?'

"Don't get any dirty ideas kid. I'm way too old for you," She said matter-of-factly as she ducked a tree branch in the way.

A few seconds later, they arrived at Amari's Den.

Holding on to his lunch, he stumbled off Tamira's back. A sour taste rose up his throat in an almost threatening manner, only to fall back to his stomach calmly.

"Mom, dad, I got her!"

"Don't worry we're fine, you can tell that bitch is going away now!" Felaud called out, less excited about Reida's successful birth and more about the need to send Tamira back.

And Amari felt the same way.

"Now, don't go chasing me away right away. I still need to make sure the pups were born healthy," Tamira chuckled and entered the cave unobstructed.

But she'd paused at the entrance, staring at something where Felaud and Reida nestled tiredly.

Amari followed her gaze to a pack of hairless, blind things. They yelped for warmth and food. He wanted to provide for them. He wanted to make sure nothing happened to them. To make sure no one crossed them. He'd lost two already, he couldn't lose another five siblings!

If he couldn't do that for his siblings, what kind of big brother would he be?

"Looks like you've got a litter of healthy pups on your hand there, Reida babe. So I'll be on my way," she turned away from the couple, heading out of the cave.

"Wait..." Felaud of all people said, "Why don't you stay and help name some of them?"

She turned, "Hehe, I knew you would say that!"

"So first of all, I'm naming one of them after me. The first female will be called Tamara, you heard! And don't change the name when I leave!"

Felaud groaned but Reida smiled.

Amari smiled too. He had new siblings now!
