"Sam, are you done? Mom and dad are waiting for us," an immature voice called out inside a two storey family house.

"I'm done, stop shouting!" a teenage voice cried out next. A door opened and a 5'8 boy stepped out of a bedroom wearing a blue shirt, brown khaki pants and black leather shoes. His brown hair was well combed and his clothes ironed.

"You look like a dork," a preteen boy laughed at him while Sam just glared at him.

"You're one to talk. You look like you got baptized in a barrel of oil," Sam snorted looking at his oily face. The boy quickly rubbed his face and looked down at his hands with despair.

"It's my power, alright! I sweat oil when I'm nervous, you know that!" the boy raged before storming out of the house. Sam just sighed and went after him. He made sure the back and front door were locked before getting inside the minivan where his father, mother, little brother and twin sister were waiting. His twin sister looked at him and snorted in a laugh.

"What? What's with that snort?" he asked her, a little offended.

"You look like a dork," she laughed, their little brother joining her.

"This is how I always dress!" he stressed out but the laughter still increased. Depressed, he turned for the window and started drawing circles. Their mother laughed softly before ruffing up his hair.

"Don't worry, honey, you look great, a little like a salary man, but you look great," she comforted him.

"All he's missing is a suit jacket and tie and he will be hired as a clerk," his sister said making their father and little brother burst out laughing. Sam was depressed even more.

Ever since he was reborn in this universe, he had been trying not to act like his previous self but old habits die hard. He died a ninety eight years old man, former clerk in the mayor's office for forty five years, dressing the same way even when he retired and on his deathbed, probably got buried like that too. So, his taste of clothes got bland and it was transferred even in this universe too.

This made him the butt of all jokes from his two siblings and everyone in school. The only comforting thing he could think of was that he had a guaranteed career as a clerk in the county office while most of them would be struggling thinking of what to do! Petty, but it was at least achievable.

"So, everyone excited for this day? You two get to be registered as Powered and Sam will be tested if he will be Powered in the future," their father said as he started driving.

"I can't wait to see the look in their faces when they realize I can explode things with my sweat," Vinny, Sam's little brother exclaimed.

"They might call you 'Sweat Boom Boom Boy'," Sam decided to take the jab but everyone looked at him, deadpanned. 'Great, my sense of humor is just as bland as my last life's.'

"Charlene, you must be excited too. You are one of the few people to have the full package. To have Supernatural Physique is amazing," their mother said, making Charlene look at her phone instead. "You have superstrength, superspeed, regeneration, nigh-durability..."

"Everyone calls me muscle-head because I threw Bobby's truck to the frickin moon! I don't want my powers!" Charlene cried out, making Sam give her a stinkeye.

'What an ungrateful brat! Do you know how many people in my old world would kill to have your powers?' he thought to himself.

"Honey, you should not let those bullies at school define who you are. Your powers are great. Just imagine how you can use them. You could get into the Think-tank with your superbrain, became an Olympic champion with your superspeed or superstrength, get into the army with your a durability or became a government sponsored hero with all your powers," their father encouraged her. Charlene just scoffed and continued using her phone. Their parents sighed tiredly before they turned to Sam.

"What about you, Sam. What do you think your powers would be?" their mother asked.

"At this moment, I just want it to be anything, even a power to change my eye colors at will. I don't think I will get any job if I am a normal human," Sam said, making them look at him with pity.

Sam came to know this world was eerily similar to Boku No Hero Academia. Powered people had taken over the society to a point where jobs were given first priority to anyone with powers, even if that kind of power was not related to the job. Like if you were not a powered being and you apply a job in an ice sculpturing factory, your CV would be looked last, even if only fire based Powered humans were the only ones applying for the job. In a way, it was somehow dissimilar to Marvel where mutants were shunned, hunted and had no laws protecting them like black people in the sixties in America!

"Don't worry, honey, your powers are going to be great," their mother comforted him, only for her to see Vinny roll his eyes at the statement.

After a half hour drive, they finally arrived at the Powered City. It was the city that was the home of the Powered Registration, Powered Hero League and Powered Supreme Court. Everyone here was a Powered with zero telerance to non Powered unless they were here to check if they had a chance to awaken.

"Purpose of visit?" a military officer asked them at the checkpoint.

"Peter and Martha Stewart here to register two of our children, Charlene and Vinny Stewart as Powered and do a DNA test for our last child, Samuel Stewart," their father answered.

"Right. I'm going to have the crippled child out for check up," the soldier said. Sam sigh d tiredly for this was a normal occurrence. He stepped out of the minivan and was escorted inside the screening room.

First, they took his fingerprints and confirmed his identity. Next, they stripped him of his clothes and checked for any illegal substance in them. Then, they led him into a room where a military art personal with X-ray vision scanned him.

"It looks like you have an anomaly in you," the man said, making Sam frown.

"What? What do you mean an anomaly? I haven't even eaten breakfast!" Sam tried to say but two military officers burst in and took him away while he kicked and screamt. They threw him inside an amored military van and slammed the door behind him.

"Where are you talking me? Answer me! I have rights, goddammit! Answer me, you goddamn whippersnapper!" Sam roared in anger but nobody paid heed to him. The van was started and he was taken away while he raged on. Meanwhile, another officer went to inform his parents of his arrest.

"Mr and Mrs Stewart, your son was arrested for trying to snuggle illegal substances into Powered City, such offense has garnered him immediate arrest and persecution under the Powered City law. If you wish to visit him you can file a petition. Till then, have a wonderful stay at the Powered City," he said with finality and let them through, leaving them in shock.
