22 System

Aiden Black opened his eyes, unable to believe what he was seeing. Besides an unfamiliar ceiling, there were several letters in space blinking in red.

[Supreme Cultivation System]

[Name: Aiden Black]

Age: 16 years old

Life Force: 0.3

Talent: Low-grade

Abilities:

[Deep Sleep Lv1]

Aiden glanced at his intact arm for a moment before looking back at the letters in space.

Did this system save me?

Upon checking his body, he couldn't find any trace of the stab wounds either.

[New Mission: Acquire 1 life force.]

Aiden had obviously played games before and had some understanding of what seemed to be the workings of the so-called system.

But he couldn't believe something so surreal was happening to him.

He wanted to believe it was real and not just a pirated app installed in his retina.

Aiden stared at the space for a long time before gritting his teeth and considering activating the system's ability.

Deep Sleep.

A strong drowsiness fell over him, and before he knew it, he fell back onto the bed.

Two hours later, he woke up to a notification in his retina.

[+0.1 life force]

In addition to that, a force he didn't know he had began to invade his body.

Excitedly clenching his fists, Aiden discovered that the system was completely real and not just a joke hack in his eye iris.

His eyes couldn't help but turn red as he glared into the void.

Maybe with this system, he could achieve his revenge!

With renewed vigor, Aiden got out of bed and opened the door to the old wooden house.

Outside, he found a very strange-looking room. Everything seemed to be made of wood, which was very rare and made everything seem very ancient.

Whether it was the chairs, table, or walls.

Opening the front door of the unfamiliar house, Aiden was shocked.

This is impossible!

...

Jake headed to his uncle's house with Scooty following closely behind.

When he opened the door, he found his uncle in the living room.

"Finally, you show up!" His uncle was smoking a cigarette, his face and tone clearly discontented.

"Yeah, well..." Jake shrugged, walking straight to the stairs. "I guess you've made it very clear that you don't want me here. I shouldn't even care if I come or not to sleep."

His uncle frowned, clearly displeased.

"While you live in my house, you owe me respect," he asserted with authority. Something Jake couldn't argue against because he believed it was true. "Although you're right in the part that I really don't care if you come or not to sleep... what does matter to me is this."

His uncle tossed him a paper letter that fell to the floor a few inches from Jake's feet.

Jake picked up the envelope very puzzled; a paper letter or envelope was incredibly rare to find in this high-tech era. Even in his old world, it was something that was becoming a thing of the past.

Opening the envelope curiously, Jake found a beautifully decorated card and read its contents.

[James Hurkacs and Samantha Sanchez have the honor of inviting you to the wedding of their daughter]

[Cristine Hurkacs and Cheng Yang]

[To be held on March 12th, year 5810 of the Galactic Era]

[Location: Primus Planet/City Transkir]

Jake furrowed his brows not understanding much of the written message on the card.

He didn't recognize any names on the card but could guess they were from his family by the last name.

He had never been interested in knowing the name of the planet he lived on, the city, or even the year they were in.

Damn it, he didn't even know the name of the streets!

Although in his defense, he hadn't been in this world for long, and there were many more interesting things to investigate.

"And this?" Jake moved the invitation without any interest on his face.

Robb raised an eyebrow at his reaction.

"It's an invitation to your older sister's wedding."

Robb squinted his eyes a little at the clear surprise in Jake's eyes.

"She's not my sister." But Jake quickly pretended to be indifferent. "Since I was expelled from that family, I don't really consider them as family."

The suspicion in Robb's face disappeared a little.

Jake continued up the stairs but paused for a moment when he saw a bit of doubt in Robb's eyes.

"In fact, I consider you more of a father than that man."

His words surprised Robb so much that it made him forget his small suspicions and began to think deeply as he watched him climb the stairs.

Once in his room, Jake sighed in relief.

"That was close."

Jake opened the window of his room and let out a small whistle.

Like a cat, Scooty jumped easily into his room from the neighbor's roof.

With a smile, Jake began to pet him and praise him.

"Who's a good boy? You are! Haha."

Jake sat on the bed to check his social networks while Scooty lay down on his legs.

He received many messages and friend requests, as well as many new followers.

But what really surprised him was the many messages Lena had been sending him.

In just two days, Lena had sent him more than 30 messages, which was really incredible for someone who normally didn't send him a single one.

Checking the messages, they were really trivial.

The first messages were greetings, and then she began to ask about his whereabouts and mentioned needing to talk to him.

The messages kept coming, even mentioning the wedding invitation, but she was actually desperately asking about him.

Jake couldn't understand her sudden change in behavior and didn't want to.

Leaving it as a strange occurrence, he ignored it and went to sleep.
