Chapter One

The world changed one day when the tower suddenly appeared, located at the center of the world it was like a beacon attracting the eyes of many. It stretched high up in the high breaking through the clouds its end unknown. With the emergence of the tower, it granted everyone a status window and that was the start of the tower climb.

Feng Li put down the book and looked out of his window and saw a magnificent tower towering above the city. Everyone at the age of 16 would have a status window and with that they would become eligible to enter the tower, to change their fate or to fight for glory. Feng Li's parents had passed away during an expedition in the tower leaving him alone, with the meager sum that his parents had left he bought himself a one room flat and spent the rest on buying gear to pass the first floor.

The tower, endless no one knows how many floors there are even the best team of humanity only managed to reach the 79th floor there was so much more to explore, to discover and it was Feng Li's dream to one day reach the end of the tower. An impossible dream in the eyes of many not to mention that he has no background whatsoever to help him prepare for the first floor.

The next day Feng Li took a bus and left for the tower. He was equipped with a low rank 1 dagger, a weapon that he spent all of his parents money one and a leather armor that wasn't even rank one. Weapons, monsters and skills were divided into 9 ranks with 1 being that weakest and each rank being further divided into low, high, top and peak. By clearing towers there was a chance that gears, skills would drop though a very low chance with most of the drops being stat incensements. The surrounding near the tower had transformed into a market place with many people buying or selling their gains in the tower, taking a deep breath Feng Li stepped into the entrance.

<Initializing new hunter Feng Li>

<Status screen unlocked>

A blinding light surrounded Feng Li as he was teleported into a brand new world. When he opened his eyes he discovered he was in a transparent world. This was called the initializing floor where it determines if a person would become a hunter or die trying. After completing the initializing floor the tower would reward hunters with a trait and a skill. Skills were a rare drop in the towers not to mention traits. Feng Li hoped that his trait and skill gained from the floor would be enough to get him started.

Feng Li looked at his stats, his agility and strength was above average due to the training that he had done to prepare himself for the tower of course it was rubbish compared to the stats of those who come from higher backgrounds having given resources to ensure the passing of the floor.

<Preparation time over, floor starting>

Quest initiated:

<Kill 50 wolfs>

The system rang out, Feng Li tensed up as he saw a wolf like monster appearing. Feng Li got into combat position holding his dagger, "use scan" Feng Li tried out scan a skill that everyone was equipped with and a necessary skill to avoid strong monsters.

<Wolf> (Grade One)

Strength:2

Intelligence:1

Viltality:1

Endurance:1

Agility:4

Mana:0

Skills:

None

Looking at the stats of the wolf Feng Li was speechless its speed was much faster than he was but thinking carefully besides its speed its other stats were around the same as Feng Li. "Growl" the wolf spotted Feng Li and pounced over Feng Li was prepared and rolled to the side stabbing his knife out in the process.

"Howl" the wolf let out a cry of pain as it was stabbed its defense was useless in front of Feng Li's 3 point strength. It tensed up and suddenly burst out with speed rushing over to the human who had hurt it, Feng Li tried to dodge again but was too slow and his arm was scratched by the wolf.

He grimaced in pain but counter attacked slashing the belly of the wolf, with a cry the wolf began to fade away. Feng Li checked the quest and there was a change

<1/50 wolfs>

Feng Li stopped the bleeding of his injured hand and before he could catch his breath more wolfs appeared. Feng Li gripped his dagger tight and with a cry charged up toward the wolf, he dodged the paw coming his way and thrusted the dagger into the wolf's head killing it. A few seconds later another one appeared there was no time to rest as Feng Li rushed up.

God knows how many hours had passed, Feng Li was both mentally and physically tired who could blame him after all he had to keep his concentration at the peak at all times. He checked the quest

<49/50>

"Howl!" A loud sound reverberated throughout the floor a wolf with pure white fur, green eyes entered Feng Li's vision.

"Scan"

<Wolf King>(High rank one)

Strength: 3

Agility: 5

Mana:15(unable to regenerate)

Skills:

<Wind Slash>(Low rank one)

Harness the power of the wind and slash it at an enemy

Consumes 3 mana per use

Cooldown: 1 minute

Looking at its stats Feng Li could not help but curse, this boss was too overpowered but Feng Li noticed that its mana could not regenerate which means that it could only use its skill for five times which is enough to kill him many times over.

"Whoosh" a wind blade flew past his cheek leaving a deep wound, if Feng Li had not tilted his head in time in would be game over for him. The wolf king rushed up his claws descending on Feng Li. Sparks flew as Feng Li blocked it with his dagger, he rolled to the side and slashed upwards leaving a small wound on the wolf king's body. "Shit it just left a mark, its defense is strong" Feng Li was trying his best to evade the blows of the wolf king but its speed was faster little by little wounds began to accumulate on Feng Li's body. "Huff huff" Feng Li was panting badly, his body was blooded and would not be able to hold out much longer he could only take one last gamble it was do or die.

With a war cry Feng Li mustered all his strength and charged at the wolf king he saw a wind blade coming at him and dodged slightly maintaining his speed, he ignored the injuries caused by the wind blade as he rushed up and plunged his dagger into the eyeball of the wolf king and into its brain killing it directly.

<Quest completed>

<5 Skill points awarded>

A bright light fell on Feng Li as he felt his wounds healing he got up and saw a purple crystal floating. The crystal was the rewards of the tower it would grant a hunter 3 choices be it weapons, skills, traits or stat boosts and the hunter could only choose one. Sadly no loot could be obtained from the monsters defeated in the tower the only way to get them was through the items provided in the crystal. But after clearing every floor stat points would be given.

Feng Li placed his hands on the crystal and it lit up showing him 3 traits he could choose from

<Rewards>

Traits:

<Blessed Mana body>

Mana capacity in the body increased

mana regeneration rate increased

<Bronze Body>

increases defense

<GREED>

able to pick 2 out of 3 rewards instead of the usual 1. applicable to any rewards given by the tower

Feng Li's heart shook as he picked the third one without hesitation and its effects were triggered immediately allowing Feng Li to pick another trait in which he picked<blessed mana body>. He then took a look at the skills exited that he would be able to pick one more, a very big advantage given the rarity of skills in the tower.

<Rewards>

Skills:

<Wind slash>(low rank one)

Harness the power of the wind and slash it at an enemy

Consumes 3 mana per use

<Gravity Orbs>(Top rank one )

Conjure orbs of gravity that controls gravity

1 orb lasts for one hour before needing to spend mana to summon again

mana cost for one orb: 30 mana

cooldown: none

<Sprint>(low rank one)

Increase agility by 2

cooldown: 5 minutes

Feng Li was shocked by the appearance of <Gravity Orb> a top rank one skill was super rare and should only appear in the later floors of the tower but the the reward system is random which mean there is a chance of getting a rank 9 skill in the first floor but the chances are close to zero. Without hesitation Feng Li choose <Gravity Orb> and <Sprint>.
