1 Chapter 1: Our Journey Begins

So how did it end up this way? How we fought our way to reach the top, how we put all our effort into this, having all our accomplishements put to waste.

It began in our hometown, we were buying food from the market and it was another normal day for us, or so it seems. As we walked across the trail from our home, Kaito caught up with the rest of the rest of us and spoke when he regained his energy "Hey guys, you won't believe me but I've been hearing rumors about a Tower, a large one said about the size of a small forest." he said.

"Some people said they've seen it before and went in to see what's in the top".

"A Tower?" Rumi asked.

"It's quite strange really, rumor has it that it goes above the clouds." Kaito replied.

Everyone looked skeptical thinking about how a Tower can be this high and this large without falling apart on itself. Mori shrugged it off as he seemed to be unfazed about it "it's just a rumor anyways, no need to make a big fuss about it." he stated.

"besides, can you imagine? a Tower that big? Come on none can create such a large structure".

I agreed to his statement knowing the rumor seems a bit far fetched.

"but it's quite strange to hear that coming you know?" I said

"I wonder why someone would ever say such a thing, very unconvincing".

We were heading to the town of Kiri for a bounty, a group of bandits were believed to be spotted heading to the area so we chose to go there. I hated that place, normally because I could barely see anything in the thick fog since the town was somewhere in the mountains. I looked over to Akari, she didn't talk much but we usually understand her somehow, she's a very interesting person in one's eyes but to us we think it's normal.

A couple minutes later we arrived in the mountains, where Kiri was, and of course the only thing we could see was the trail leading to the town in the thick fog.

"This is gonna be another long day" Rumi uttered.

We were a bit confused on where we were going but we still kept going. We were almost there, as our group crossed the bridge beside the water fall, a long creak from the under us grabbed our attention.

"guys I believe we should go before this br-"

before I could finish the wooden boards of that old bridge broke under us leaving us into a free fall. We were screaming for our lives until, SPLASH we landed in the small pond under the bridge. Minutes later my friends and I rested on shore after struggling to float in the water, we were exhausted after what just happened.

"You guys alright?" Rumi groaned. We all agreed to what she said, Akari made a thumbs up as she layed on the ground.

We abandoned are bounty however, sad, "hopefully the town of Kiri would be okay though" I said

"I'm too tired to do anything". Kaito slowly gets up on his feet still soaked in water,"It doesn't matter if we're in this condition, I think we can still do it as long as we find our way out-" he looks behind him and he slouched feeling less confident "in this forest..."

"At least the fog is gone for now" I said relieved.

We all stood up and started finding our way through the thick jumble of trees away from the waterfall, I hoped that our group could find our way out before the fog returns.

It was all fun and games after talking while we wander around the seemingly endless shade of trees, until we stumbled upon the massive stone gates of... what could be, the Tower
