29 Chapter Twenty-Seven: Declaration

Ren was walking to the bridge, his face filled with determination. He now had one objective. After contemplating for over a day, he talked himself up to finally tell Lucilia how he felt. He didn't really know what to say, however, or how she would react. He figured she liked him considering how she pretty much never leaves his side, but how would she react to him finally saying it?

Walking through the hallways to the bridge, he passed by an all-too familiar face talking to one of the guards on the ship.

"Well, hello, Ren~" Ivy said, smiling at him.

"Hey Ivy, sorry, but right now isn't a good time." Ren said.

"Is everything alright, Ren...you look anxious?" Ivy asked, seeing his face.

"I kind of am, but I'm also excited at the same time." Ren said.

"Oh?" Ivy looked at Ren's face and tried to read his expressions. "You're going to tell her, aren't you?"

Ren was taken aback by Ivy knowing exactly what he was going to do.

"Am I that easy to read?" Ren asked Ivy.

Ivy smiled and hugged him, causing Ren's face to be caught in between her breasts.

"It's like putting your head on the softest pillow possible..." Ren thought to himself in bliss.

Ivy put her hands on the back of Ren's head. "I could hear your heartbeat a mile away with how loud it's beating; now just listen to me. I approve of your feelings for my daughter, and I will support you both in any way I can. She loves you, and you feel the same way. That's the best thing I could ask for. After getting to know you the past few weeks, I know you would never hurt her intentionally, mostly because of how caring you are...but also because you know how dangerous my daughter can be." Ivy laughed a little before continuing her speech. "I will accept you as my son any day, Ren...and who knows, maybe more so one day."

"What..." Ren asked with his voice still muffled in between her chest.

"Don't worry about it; now go," Ivy said, letting go of Ren. "And Ren...good luck, not that you'll need it."

Ren, now filled with more confidence after what Ivy said, and a little more confusion with what she had near the end, continued heading to the bridge, but another thought crossed his mind.

"Did she just...come onto me...despite being married...and despite me being about to tell her daughter how I feel?" Ren thought to himself and got to thinking about it until he reached the doors to the ship's bridge. "You know what? Pack that away for later. Time to get focused."

Ren entered the bridge, and Lucilia was there, sitting in the captain's seat, looking at stuff on her tablet that she was holding.

"Hey Lucilia." Ren said, greeting her.

Lucilia looked up with the brightest smile and said, "Hey Ren! What are you doing?"

Lucilia was wearing her typical dress, this time colored red, since she was royalty and always had to seem professional.

"I just came to talk to you about something." Ren said.

"Okay, what about?" Lucilia asked.

"Can we talk in private, actually?" Ren asked, hoping that the bridge hands and guards weren't around when he said how he felt.

"Oh? Sure." She said before looking back at the bridge hands. "If anything happens, call me on the ship comms."

Ren and Lucilia walked down the hallway into their room, passing by Ivy, who smiled as they walked past her.

"Oh, Ren, the path in front of you is going to be very complicated." Ivy thought to herself.

Ren and Lucilia entered their room, Ren's heart beating louder than ever, knowing he was finally going to say it.

"So what did you want to talk about, Ren?" Lucilia asked.

Ren took a deep breath and thought to himself "Okay, here we go."

"Lucilia, you have been great to me since we met; even though we fought against each other, you've treated me with nothing but respect, and you have cared for me since I woke up. When I first got captured, I thought you were going to torture me for information like what we've been taught, but instead, you clothed me in your peoples clothes, fed me, taught me about your culture, and even treated me when I got poison. Everything you have done for me...it meant a lot. You didn't have to do it; you could've just left me with some random general where I would never be seen again, but instead you did everything you could to help me feel comfortable and honestly. I have felt comfortable on your planet, in your home, and especially with you. You aren't like anyone I've ever met before. You have done everything possible for me, and I really appreciate that. You even gave me a knight, knowing full well that if I wanted to, I could try to escape. You trust me with your full heart, and I trust you...with mine."

Lucilia began to blush upon hearing everything Ren was telling her "W-what are y-ou trying to say, Ren?" she said, stuttering.

Ren took another deep breath before finally saying it "Lucilia, I love you."

Lucilia's face turned even more red; her heart was beating as fast as Ren's, and tears started to come out of her eyes.

"Ren I-" Lucilia tried to say before someone on the comms spoke.

"Princess, we have an emergency. Three ships, all flying flags of the Imperial Liberation Army, are heading in our direction."

Lucilia's face, which was red from embarrassment, turned even further red, this time from her anger.

"ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?" she yelled inside of her thoughts. "Just when everything was perfect, this had to happen, dammit!"

"Ren I'm sorry, but this will have to wait. I promise you afterwards that you will have my answer, but we have to take care of this. Head to Nemesis; I'll meet you there." Lucilia said upset that this moment had been ruined.

Ren also felt upset; he finally worked up the courage to say how he felt, and now, of all times, some bandits showed up.

Ren headed to the hanger where the knights were kept and ran into Mae.

"Ren, everything is good to go except for the weapons; we're still experiencing issues getting them upgraded, so you will have to resort to melee only. Oh, and also, your paint job is also finished." Mae said, rushing around the hanger; however, she noticed something off with Ren. "Is everything alright?"

"Honestly, I'm pissed off, and I'm going to take it out on these bandits, so if you would excuse me, Mae." Ren said as he was getting into Nemesis without hesitation.

Mae saw he was angry as he got into the knight "Alright, it's none of my business, and whatever it is, I'll figure it out later." She thought to herself.

Ren got into Nemesis, and shortly afterwards he could see Lucilia getting into her knight, whom Ren found out she named after the goddess of victory and the AI of the warship she was on when she captured Ren, Thera.

"Okay, Ren, are you ready?" Lucilia asked on comms.

"More than ready..." Ren said, gripping the control sticks. He had put in his personal settings, which were much more lenient than the sentinels he used in the UNS. In the three mock battles he had tried out, he slowly figured out how to control the knight. He wasn't perfect, but with every use of the simulation, he improved. However, this would be his first time using Nemesis in a real battle.

"Ok, we will be joined by two other knights for this fight. Aleyda, Silili, are you two ready?" Lucilia asked on the comms.

Both of them responded, saying they were ready for deployment.

"Alright on my mark...3...2...1..."

The four launched from the hanger into space; the first thing they saw were three ships, which seemed to have been repaired with whatever scrap these guys would find shooting on their ship.

"Okay, everyone, engage now!" Lucilia ordered on the comms.

Aleyda and Silili targeted the closest ship on the right, while Ren targeted the leftmost ship, and Lucilia the center ship.

Aleyda and Silili both unloaded their missiles at the ship, causing it to be quickly destroyed due to its low shields and how shoddily repaired it was.

Meanwhile, Lucilia used her sword that her knight had equipped and cut the center ship vertically down the middle, causing it to quickly explode.

Then Ren, who didn't have a weapon to use, punched the ship until it suffered hull damage and eventually created a hole in the side of the ship, causing members of its crew to be sucked out into the depths of space.

Ren didn't like having to use this method; he considered it cruel considering how inferior their technology was in comparison to his, but as soon as the threat arrived, it was quickly eliminated.

"Good work, everyone; the threat is gone. Time to head back to the ship, oh, and Ren...come to our room right after we get out." Lucilia said on comms.

Ren took a deep breath and said on comms "Understood, heading back now.

Ren landed the Nemesis back in the hanger and followed Lucilia back to their room.

"So Lucilia about-" Ren said before being kissed on the lips.

Her kiss was so soft and so passionate. They shared this romantic moment before Lucilia put her tongue inside Ren's mouth, who responded the same way. Their tongues were dancing with each other and exploring each other. Ren put his hands on Lucilia's sides, bringing her in even closer to him.

Lucilia and Ren separated their kiss after passionately kissing each other for a few minutes, creating a saliva bridge between them as they separated.

Lucilia looked at Ren in the eyes, and Ren took notice of just how beautiful her eyes were this close. The piercing, crimson-red eyes were looking into his own.

Lucilia pushed Ren down onto the bed and jumped on top of him, sitting right on top of his lower half.

Lucilia dropped the upper half of her dress down to her waist, releasing her beautifully shaped breasts, which were being held up by her red bra. Her eyes never broke away from Ren's, who stared back into her crimson eyes, which now seemed like they were glowing, which drew Ren even further in.

"I love you too, Ren." Lucilia said before moving her face right back next to Ren and kissing him again.

Lucilia sat back up and started to grind on Ren's lower half. Ren, even though Lucilia was wearing most of the dress, could feel the wetness coming from her lower half.
