A World Where Humans Don't Exist

Ashley had everything in her grasp. Love, Status and Popularity; she couldn't ask for more. That was until… One night, on her way home from her friend's party, she was caught in a car accident. Her life was turned upside down. She became comatose and was later in a vegetative state. She was in that condition for three years. Her friends who she thought were her pillars of support left her. Her boyfriend left her for her friend. What hurt her the most was that her family was breaking apart primarily because of her. She lost everything overnight. Everyone already anticipated her death and believed that she wouldn't recover. Why wouldn't they? The doctors said she was almost brain-dead. That was what they thought... In fact, Ashley knew everything. She was just trapped inside her own body. After three years of enduring, life gave her a chance. A silver streak that made her hope that everything would be fixed and she could go back to her once-perfect life. Instead, she is sent to another world. Only to come out of a box and serve as a prize for an annual tournament. More confusing was the fact that this world seemed to be a fantasy world were vampires, werewolves and other creatures dwelled. It was a world where humans never existed. ******* WFP #11: Bronze tier Note: This is a slow burn novel. The romance would happen eventually but it would develop over the following chapters (even the smut *hehe). Disclaimer: Images used are not mine. Got the images from pineterest and edited them on an app. Warning: 1. Smut 2.Cliches 3.Swear words/Curses

Sunlight and Dissapointment

Ashley looked at him with hostility. She was expecting the dramatic death of a vampire by burning in broad daylight.

She was so nervous but she was also relieved that the world seemed to be on her side. She commended herself for standing up against this big bad vampire who only saw humans as food. This was her greatest achievement so far. If this works out, she might consider pursuing the career of being a vampire hunter.

She wiped the imaginary sweat in her forehead. She calmed down. This wasn't the time to joke around. She needed to get out of her before they discover his ashe—

She froze when someone cleared his throat.

"Y-You... " she said looking perplexed because things didn't seem to go her way. She didn't dare raise her head, afraid to meet those blood thirsty eyes she imagined. She suddenly panicked.

What happened? Why wasn't he dying yet?

Maybe she did it the wrong way. Yeah, perhaps that was it. She just did it incorrectly. Convincing herself that this was the case, she went to grab the ends of the curtain once again and shut the window.

She removed it. But it still didn't work. She repeated the process over and over again for a couple of minutes.

Her relaxed expression soon turned into a nervous one.

'Im probably gonna die now, am I?'she thought.

Why didn't it work? From her knowledge of vampires, they were helpless against sunlight. They would burn and turn into ashes, their remains gone with the wind. Why isn't it working? Was her knowledge wrong?

She rushed to open the window. Maybe because the window was closed that's why it didn't work. Perhaps it applied when using direct sunlight. That's right! She had to do it correctly this time... or else. The thought of her pending death gave her the chills.

When she opened the window, it was her final straw. She anticipated the vampire's scream of horror but it didn't come. There was just awkward silence.

Her hands started to shake from fear. She shivered. She tightly closed her eyes and immediately kneeled before the vampire. She knew that there was no other choice. If she could just beg this vampire to spare her life...

"E-Esteemed Lord!.. " she said and swallowed a mouthful of saliva. She bowed her head to show her inferiority to the vampire. "Please s-spare this peasant's life. Please... pardon this peasant for her insolence. "

Since this was a medieval setting, she thought that she had to use this polite tone on him. It wasn't right for her to act all casual, especially that she attempted to kill him with sunlight minutes ago. She didn't know if he realized that. But if he did he would think that she was mad.

"Please don't drink this peasant's blood and spare her life." she begged.

The vampire was suddenly surprised with her actions. What was she talking about? Hearing her words, he suddenly grew suspicious and narrowed his eyes. He decided to play along with her.

" Why should I spare you?... "

She couldn't help but clench her fist. Man, He was scary! His voice alone could make her fall to her knees. If she was standing this whole time, she was afraid that she would collapse with just his words. His tone held so much power. She felt like she wasn't talking to an ordinary vampire, his presence oppressed her like a King! If all vampires were like this, D*mn.. . She'd die with heart attack, not blood loss!

She needed to think fast! He was asking her a question. She definitely needed to reply. But she needed to be smart. Her life was at stake here!

She opened her mouth when she thought of something...

"Because I-I'm not worthy... I, uh... I'm not healthy and my blood is dirty. I'm afraid it would not suit his  esteemed Lord's taste."

'I hope this works!'

"How would you know my taste then? So, you dare question my preferences... "

She frowned. It seems that her reason only caused him displeasure. What was she supposed to say then? She wanted him to be disgusted with her so that he wouldn't attempt drinking her blood.

" No...Not at all! Esteemed Lord, I was just—Well, I was afraid my esteemed lord would not like the taste of this peasant blood. It has a lot of impurities and I have a disease! It's especially contagious and I... I also have parasites living in my body...ticks,tapeworms and—"

She stopped when she heard him take a step. She held her breath. She knew it! It was stupid of her to come up with obvious lies! He wasn't a fool to believe it. He was the predator here. She hoped that it didn't anger him further..

" Speak... Why did you stop?"

'Eh?' So.. he believed her?'

"I-I... As I was saying, I also have various diseases. I'm afraid to implicate this Lord! Furthermore, I am near death. This peasant would only bring trouble to this Lord!"

She was already crying. She wasn't even the type to cry. She was an emotional person but she wasn't a crybaby. She never imagined that this day would come where all she could do was cry.

'Geez. Am I hearing myself right now? Cringe. ' she thought.

Don't judge her okay? She needed to survive! And exchanging some of her precious tears for her dear life was nothing. She wasn't even sure if her performance was a success. If it wasn't then she needed to enroll herself in drama class.

'Ticks? Seriously?'

She cried internally. The vampire is not gonna be the cause of her death, it would be her humiliation. To add salt to the wound, the atmosphere soon turned awkward because the vampire didn't seem to respond to her begging.

"You..stand up." he commanded in a low voice.

Hearing this, she slowly stood up. Sweat trickling down her forehead. She remained her gaze on the floor.

"I'm sorry my lord. This peasant has uttered nonsense. Just please don't suck my blood." she said, closing her eyes tightly and her body shaking. She looked like a lost puppy. She waited for his response.

"Pfft—HAHAHAHA."

Ramier couldn't control himself anymore and bursted into laughter. Ashley instantly raised her brows when she heard him laugh. Her face reflected a puzzled expression. Was he laughing at her? Her cheeks immediately turned red in embarrassment. She slightly grew upset.

He then wiped the corner of his eyes. He felt like he shed some tears. If this continued any longer, he would die from laughter. Who thought that the legacy was very amusing?

Ashley raised her head. She wanted to see the face of the person who dared to laugh at this serious moment concerning her life. He wasn't sarcastic okay! He was genuinely laughing like she was some funny joke! Forget about her life. She needed to drag this bastard along with her!

Ashley gasped as soon as she caught sight of him. She wasn't able to close her mouth anymore. It was like he was medusa and he completely turned her to stone.

'Woah..'

Ashley was in daze as she looked at Ramier. He was wearing an amused grin. It was like his smile landed a heavy blow on her.

What the? He was so handsome... No... beautiful.. Gorgeous.

She couldn't even find the words to describe him!

His silver hair while delicately swept back. He had pale glass skin. Eyes that glimmered like rubies while looking at her. It carried mystery like he had seen the window to her soul. His pearly white teeth and his smile that was so bright. She wanted to cover eyes, afraid she'd go blind. He was so beautiful but in a manly way. His features were delicate. He looked like a sculpture. He was an adonis.

His broad shoulders and tall stature made her feel so small. No wonder his silhouette appeared to look good. He was this good looking!

Ashley, who was a sucker for good looks, couldn't help but widen her eyes in amazement. Her eyes were already palpitating. Not that it was possible. She was just overwhelmed with his entire being. If only this was a modern setting, he would definitely be famous. His existence would shock humanity.

But who was she trying to fool?

She tried to compose herself when she saw that the man narrowed his eyes. She was thrown back to reality. Yeah right. He was a vampire. Her potential killer. She averted her gaze to the ground.

"I'm sorry again my Lord. Please spare my life." she begged in a small voice.

"Hmm. I'll consider that." he said in a mocking tone. He then took a step forward in her direction.

Seeing this she also took a step backward but was later cornered. She looked down fearfully. If she had the courage to appreciate his good looks, then that courage seemed to have dissipated from her body.

"I-I..."she immediately shut her mouth when he was  a couple of centimeters away from her.

"Why do you think I would drink your blood?" he said.

Ashley felt all her hairs stand up. He was so close to her neck. He could just open his mouth and suck the life out of her. She breathed heavily, her heart pounding against her chest.

"B-Because I'm h-human?.."
