1 Prologue

Once upon a time, in 1867. It was the year that give the humanity nightmare, when humanity faced the enemy that they could not see when the night comes. The enemy that can blend their existence into the human society, making them invisible to be seen as the enemy of humanity. But, when they smell the scene of blood spilled on the ground, they will show their true self. Making humans aware of their existence and runs in fear of it, they will show their fang as if it is the dagger that ready to rip off their flesh like a sponge, their red eyes that as red as blood making whoever see it will be seeing their greatest fear in their live that making them stunned. The humanity lost their hopes fighting against them, hiding like a bunny that were running from the tiger. Praying to the God, asking him to send some help to the humankind, but the God has not given them any help. They began to doubt about the existence of God, and believing if this nightmare was sent by the God himself.

It was a beautiful night in the Valea Village, the beauty-quite night looked peacefully, making people who does not know anything about this village will think if it were only a night that they see on every night without the sound of dogs barking or the villager's kids yelling, just a peaceful and quiets. However, for the villager who lives in this village aware of something horrible about the quite-beautiful night. Those villagers understand if the beauty its show is not as beautiful as a night in the lovely story that has the night with moonlight brought a comforting beauty to the graphite night. The night that in front of their eyes was the spooky night which able giving them a nightmare that they could not forget for the rest of their life. If one of them were tried to come out. something lives in the dark will welcome you, they are the night dweller. They are sleeping in daytime and being awake at the night, they become scared of the light, seeing it as something that will poke their eyes. They will await you in the dark, hoping you would come out and finally they will catch you. The villagers of Valea will not do something stupid and lose their live for only enjoying that scene of the beautiful quite night. It was better for them to stay and sleep at their safe house, waiting the sun rises and begin their activity as usual. Unfortunately, that night there is a little girl who is playing with her cat outside, she seems to enjoy the night with her cat. The smile on her face showing of the joyful little girl that run after watching her parents argued. She keeps playing with her cats, ignoring everything story about the horrible creature which are living in the dark. Till his parents call him from the house.

"Rose.... Rose.... , Amelia Rose De Vernon comes back" whispered her father through the window in their living room. He is trembling, seeing his only daughter playing outside because of him and her wife argued.

"Sweety, Rose. Come to mommy. We promised will not fight each other anymore honey" whispered her mother, begging and regretting. Both of her parents begin sweating, they really could not do anything. Once they go out and grab Rose, all of them will die in no time, the parents knew it. If those creatures in the dark was making Rose as bait to lured them get out from the house and die together as the family. His parents try any possible thing to take their daughter back to their arms, his father tried to call the cat and made Rose follows it home.

"Garni, Garni come here" said the father while his fingers perching to attract the cat. The cat seems pay attention to the father's fingers, the cat walked slowly, Rose seems to walk behind the cat. Both of his parents seem happy when they saw it, once Rose reached their hand's range, her father will grab him and took her home. Rose's mother was smiling and crying at the same time, thinking if late, she will not do something that make her daughter feel uncomfortable in home, she does not want to lost his daughter because of her ego.

"I'am sorry, I do not want to lose our daughter just because we argued. Lets make her feeling comfortable at home" said her mother to father.

Her father did not respond to his wife, he did not move his sight from his only daughter, he want to grab her as soon as his hand reach her, he could not wait and miss the chance to save their daughter from the spooky night with those creatures hanging around in the darkness. While thinking of any possibilities, there was a sound came from the tree behind Rose, it sounds like tree branches is being stepped on. Rose's look at the place where the tree, seeing there is nothing there. Her father also looked at the tree, sweating with his hand keep trying to reach Rose's range, although Rose was still far away from him. Her mother could not hold anymore, she wants to call her daughter to run back to home as soon as possible, but for her to do it will only make something behind the tree noticed it. She only could not do anything and hold his mouth from being opened. Garni noticed it, as a cat she went to the place where the sound come from, thinking as if it was the sound of rats burrowing the hole to hide the food that they steal from the kitchen. She ran to behind the tree, Rose and her parents heard it, the sound of rat squeaking, struggling to escape from Garni's claws. It sound rowdy, making the quiet and beautiful night sound like the haunting night, Garni and the rat keep fighting, the longer they fight the lower the sound could be heard. Till the sound disappear, Rose's father was sweating he kept calling her name but Rose's was ignoring him. She walk to the Garni place behind the tree instead of respond his father's call.

"Rose, Rose..... do not go. Come back home, Garni is here honey" whispered his father with his face showing the fear. His wife could not say anything, she kept crying and hold her mouth, trying to call Rose with loud but she could not.

"Garni, pussss, Garni come back" said Rose looking around finding Garni.

She called Garni's name for almost 10 times, but Garni did not respond her. The rowdy sound of cat and rat fighting turned back into the quite spooky night. She tried to walk and took a look behind the tree, her hand reached the tree and try to peek on what happen to Garni. When she looked at it

"(Cat screaming)"

Garni jumped (Mia and her parents shocked), Garni seems has finished killing the rats. Garni walked around Rose's leg and rubbed it. Rose still surprised a bit after seeing Garni jumped in front of her face. Her father kept calling her, but she did not respond it as if in the first place there was only her and Garni there.

"Garni, what are you doing there? Where is the rat?" said Rose to Garni.

Garni kept rubbing Mia leg as if it asking to back to home, but for a little girl like Rose who is curiosity for something like that, took a look behind the tree. When she saw it, she dazed, as if what she saw was not a rat remain body that get killed by Garni. Her parent curios for what Mia doing there, both of them star to calls Rose's name with a bit loud voice. both of her parents really want to get our from the house and rushed to grab Rose to the house.

"Rose, please honey. Come back" whispered Rose's father with a bit loud voice. Rose kept ignoring him, she kept looking at something behind the tree and said.

"Mister, what are you doing there?"

Her parents could not hold anymore, when Rose say that word. Her mother opened her mouth and call Rose's name loud making Garni run away because of shocked.

"Rose!!!... Runnnnn" shouted Rose's mother while crying.

This time his father was silent, his gloomy face describing what he felt at this moment. sweating like a man that run nonstop in the deserted land. His eyes that only show the fear of losing his daughter sniffled quietly, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. He choked and could not make a voice as if there was something blocking in his throat, tears race down his cheeks and said

"No... Please..."

He collapsed and could not stand from the ground as if he saw her daughter has gone from this world. Both of Rose parents could not do anything, they already knew if there were someone roaming in the night, it must be not a human. There is not human in this country would walk around in the small village that has the horrible thing living in the dark. as for the villagers, they already knew what to do when the night comes.

Rose looked at the man standing in the dark, that man walked slowly come over to the place wherein Rose stand, when the road lamp shine through the man place. It showed of the man's dark suit, it looked so clean as if just got laundry, when the light's lamp shine around the man chest, something ruins the look of the dark suit, it has some stains on it, it color's red and spreading around his chest. Rose stunned, she knew if it was not a ketchup's stains or something like that. She though if the man was hurt and need her help for treatment.

"Mr. are you hurt???" (the man smirking in the dark)

"I will call mom and dad to help you Mister" said Rose

She turned back and look at his parents who still trying to call her, when she wants to walk back. The Man's hand reached her shoulder. Rose stopped her walk and the man said

"little girl, you should not play outside when the night come. You should listen to your parent world (Rose turned around and see the man's face)" said the Man.

Rose saw it, the man eyes and dazed, she tried to open her mouth but she could not, she tried to move her body but could not as if her body was being controlled by something. She tried to moved his eyes and looked at the man right hand that did not touch her shoulders, and she found if the man in front of him holding a rat. The red stain on his suit was not from his wound, it was from the rat, Garni was asking her to come back to home because of she meet this man. she blanched at that time and lost the control of her body.

Rose's parents who saw the man was holding his daughter were trembling, what they were afraid to happen were come off. They cry out seeing their only daughter, they really want to run out from the house and grab their daughter from that man. Once they do it, it only makes his daughter die quickly. They saw it, the man that stand in front of Rose was a horrible one, it can be looked at his pair red eyes looks deep-set and cruel, with his blood-stained little fang that came from the rat's blood , his pale skin that looked cruel cold. It was the creatures the feared by the villagers, the creatures that bring the humanity a night terror and the only creatures living in the darkness, it was a vampire.

Knowing if it was the vampire, Rose's father could not hold anymore, he gets up from the ground and run through the corridor, looking for the weapon that he hide for the dangerous situation like this. However, using a weapon against something that moving with the incredible speed in the darkness will be useless. But, seeing his only daughter in dangerous situation in front of his eyes, he did not care of any possibilities. He did not care if the beautiful-quite night become the bloody night, he did not care if those villagers will get killed if he tried to fight that man and spilled a blood in the ground and attract those creatures to come to this village, he did not care anything, what he only care is his only daughter, he will break those rules for her. However, that was the real intention of that vampire, he want to make this village feels the atmosphere, the atmosphere of being haunted, the smell of blood spilled on the ground which means the party has begin.

In Rose side..

"When the night comes (he throw the rat), it is our time to play not yours" said the vampire.

Rose only can close her eyes hoping if his father will come grab her. The vampire was smirking, seeing Rose did not resist make the vampire really want to bully her more, his expectation was to hear Rose cries but she was strong enough to hold her feeling.

"Why, why did not you cry? Come on..... give me your screaming, ask your father to come to help you little Girl(smirking), I love to hear a girl cry a loud at night, it makes the atmosphere feels alive" said the vampire,

Rose keeps struggling, she cannot cry, his father has told her before, if a strong girl does not cry, she wants to become the strong girl by not crying for something like this. She sure she will endure it. Until a few moments of enduring, the Vampire tries to make her feel being abandoned.

"Your parent will not comes, they will have a new daughter there (smirking like an evil) they do not need you anymore. How sad, look... look..... They are playing with your cat there, can you see it??" said the vampire who keeps trying make Rose cried. She could not endure it anymore, she bite his mouth and closed her eyes. She want to look at her parents direction, bet she could not her body. Her mother could not do anything, she could not stand from being collapsed after seeing her daughter caught by the man.

"Please... I beg you... let Mia go (sobber)" said Mia's mother behind the window.

She folded her hand and tried to pray, praying to the God that never listen to her pray. After a few moments, there is a sound of someone running from the house. It was Rose's father, he run out from the house held the large heavy axe on his two hands, he held it like a soldier that never held a weapon in their live, trembling and sweating all around. His face describing his feeling, he was showing his will of fight while thinking for the death awaited him. He took a deep breath and said

"let... my... daughter alone" (angry, fear, trembling, crying) shouted Rose's father.

"hahahaha, do not you just abandoned your daughter? If not why did not you came here to take her home from the first time??? Hahahahaha" said the Vampire.

Rose's father could not answer it, if he came like what the Vampire said. It only will make his daughter die quickly. He knew if this creature has watched Rose for a long ago, this vampire always kill his prey like that. long time ago, all villagers almost die because looking for a girl that has been caught by vampire. Cunning creature, enjoying the sadness like watching a parent losing their beloved one, so that they will do something stupid as fighting back.

"Did you see that? You parents did not answer my question that means they did not care about you" said the Vampire

But Rose was a strong child, she endured it like an adult one, she keeps enduring it, although she could not look at his father face because of she could not control her body. She knew what his father's face looks like. Without answering the Vampire question, she doubted. Thinking if what the vampire said was true. Making her feeling disappointed after knowing if her father did not answer the Vampire's question, she could not endure it anymore, the tears want to spilled from her beautiful-small eyes. But... suddenly.

"Let my daughter alone," charging to the vampire place

As the vampire predict, Rose's parents will do something stupid once they saw their beloved one in dangerous situation. Mia's father went berserk, he run through the Rose's place, he did means to attack the man, he only want to rescued his only daughter, he knew if he fight him, it only make the situation become worse.

"I will take you home Rose" whispering Rose's father

He almost reached Rose's body, he throws his axe to the vampire direction. Unfortunately, the Vampire knew it. he knew if Rose's father did not intent to swing his axe to fight him. In the blink of an eyes, he moved in front of Rose's father. Rose's father shocked, he tried to withdraw from his charge but it was too late. The Vampire grab Rose's father face with his only one hand, Rose's father could not escape, the Vampire has strong grip.

"ahahahah, did you thing, I did not know it?." said the Vampire.

Rose's father cried, he tried to escape from the Vampire's grip but he could not. The vampire could not do this anymore, his bloodthirsty cannot await any longer, he throws Rose's father away. Rose's father thrown away for almost 10m, he crushed into the wall of their house and felt the terrible pain on his back.

"I could not await any longer," throwing something Rose's father.

(crashed) Rose's mother who watched the situation become worse could not endure it anymore. She run into her husband who crushed the wall, she tried to wake him up but he seem unconscious.

"noooo (crying), please wake up. Our daughter..." crying bloody murder.

she cried loud, she could not hide anymore, she has been reached at the end of the rope, could not hold or hang on it anymore. Seeing her the only family was in danger, she did not think anything about the consequence.

"please I beg you let her go, and bring me with you (bloody murder)" said Rose's mother crying all the time, begging to the vampire to let her daughter go. He could not do anything with his small arms which only she used to cook Mia and her husband food. Begging and crying is the only one she could do.

Rose could not see what the Vampire has done to her father and her mother, what he could heard only something crushed into the wall and his mother cried. She could not calm his mind anymore like she used to, she thinking of any possibilities for what happens to his parents, trying to thinking if everything will be fine, but she could not. What she though was only about her parent's situation, wounded, die, run or hide? She really wants to take a look into her parents. However, while thinking of those possibilities, the Vampire stand in front of her. Rose did not want to open her eyes, he really hopes if his father will come and take her home soon. She endure it she endure... endure it till one of the Vampire's hand reached her shoulders.

"I cannot wait anymore (drooling face)"

His little-sharp fangs has ready to pierce through Rose's Skin, seeing it. Rose's mother saw it, she stood and left her husband alone, she rushed into the Vampire place to save her daughter.

"noooooooo" rushed

Rose's mother run as fast as she can to reached Rose's body, but it is too late for her to come. The vampire fang almost touched Rose's skin. suddenly, there is something comes from behind him, it as fast as the speeding bullet, that thing is so dark, that thing rushed to the place where is the vampire and Rose stand. The vampire that tries to suck Rose blood, feel it. He felt if there was something approaching him from behind with the incredible speed that will blow away everything that block it way, although the Vampire knew it but it is too late for him to avoid it. He tries to block that thing by catching it by his two hand, but that thing turned to the right side of the Vampire, the Vampire was in panic, he could not move his body directly to the right side making him blew away for almost 40 m. Rose's mother who still rushed through the Rose place saw it, without a doubt she grabs Rose's body, huges her and bring her back to the house. She did not want to see or know what happened before, as long as she get her daughter back, she feel that was enough for her.

In other side

The Vampire who gets blown away get wounded, he cannot feel his right arm and his leg. But for creature which has strong recovery speed, it will only take him for 1 minute to recover from the injury.

"buarggggghh (spouting some blood), what the hell is that. Damn, I need to recover first I cannot feel my right hand and leg, whatever that is, I will eat you along with that girl's family" said the Vampire.

He tries to recover from the wound, he closed his eyes and try to gather his energy to make the recover faster. After a few minutes, the wound could not close instantly like it used to, the wound keep opening, the blood kept bleeding, he did not realize what happen to his body. He keeps trying and trying. Until he realizes, if that thing that crushed him from before has been approaching him. It was a man, a man standing in the darkness, a tall man. the Vampire tried to see the man's face but he cannot, it looks like there was something blocking his sight and it looks like a mask, if we look at it carefully, that mask did not have an expression, it did not have a mouth to describe it expression, it only has 2 pair of wide eyes that looks scary. Those eyes could describe anything at the same time being happy, sad, angry, smiling.... So that's why it looks scary.

"what? A mask.. cough.. cough" coughing of blood

The vampire tried to remember, has he had a grudge against someone from his kin, he already know if there is no human could blow him away for almost 50m, He tried to remember it while waiting for his wound healed and do the counterattack. Until, he looked carefully on that mask, he remembers if he has heard a rumor about the man wearing a mask before from the other vampires. He remember if his friend has met the masked man, that always roam when the night comes with his two swords that is ready in his back, he looked like looking for something and have not found it yet, his friend once said if the masked man does not have smell like human or a smell of another creatures, they have tried to attack him once, but they failed, that man has a strong swordsmanship it make some of them who tried to attack him died on the spot.

"So, it is not just about rumor, it is real. I do not regret to come (he wound could not healed all), I can see how good your swordsmanship from this wound. (he tried to ignore his wound and prepare to launch a sneak attack) if I kill you my friend will treat me meal for one week hahaha (rushed to the masked man with his opened wound)"

The vampire bleeding a lot, when he charge to the masked man place, his blood has spreading around the place where he has been at, it smell very strong. if it were a blood of human, it would be attracting many vampires from it smell. But that masked man smirking as if he want to do something to the Vampire who is charging to him, his smirk is so evil. again, the area around that man become weird, as it like being covered with dark energy, as dark as the veil of darkness. That vampire noticed there was something wrong the masked man. However, as he has been charging to attack, he cannot retreat from his attack, the man took his double sword from his back, and ready to strike down the vampire.

"what!! (seeing the dark energy behind the masked man)" said the Vampire who cannot retreat from his attack. That man striking with his sword and make the vampire got cut into two pieces

"arrrrgghhhh" screamed the Vampire.

"why my wound couldn't be healed? (he looks on his wound while his body got cut into two pieces), you goddamn masked man, you really want to kill me. Who the hell are you??" scream the vampire while holding much pain.

Now he really cannot move because being splitted by the sword, the vampire still confused for how can his wound did no recover itself, when he looks on his wound carefully there was some kind silver's liquid on it, the silver's liquid that mixed with his blood making him could not use the recovery power. The masked man really came in prepare. The vampire who got splitted could no do anything, the pain he felt was getting worse, he really regrets on fighting him, if he were known that the man uses something like that he would run away from the first place. But, it is too late for him to escape, his friend never told him before about the silver weapon that the masked man used, and now his body got split into two pieces and loosing almost all of his blood.

"goddam you bastard, you never told me if this masked man use this kind of thing" said the Vampire to himself, swearing on his friend who told him the story about the masked man.

His blood flowing on the ground like a water that come from the high place into the lowest place. It was like a blood of river, red and warm with a strong smell. That blood flow into the place wherein the masked man stands. Smelling it, the Masked man took off his mask, he was starring to the dying Vampire. He has pair red eyes like those vampires who living in the dark, he walked closely to the place where the dying Vampire lay down. Hunker down and look eye to eye to the dying Vampire. The dying vampire dazed after seeing the Masked mas true face, he clearly saw it. The eyes that as red as crimson, looking attractive but evil, making whoever see it felt enchanting but disillusioning, his black gleamingly smooth short hair that will fall short through the windswept, his sharp fang hanged on his mouth, that fang was looked so sharp as sharp as shark's teeth which can pierce through anything it bites, it does not matter how tight and thick, a handsome tall man roaming in the night with the moonlight shining around him. Without a doubt, he was a vampire, the no ordinary vampire.

"so, you are the one in those story has told, the prince of the night, the one who being loved by the moon, the dark prince Endymion" said the dying Vampire.

With that say, the Masked man charged into the Vampire place, he grabs the Vampire pieces of body (it was the top part). He held the Vampire head, and look at the neck, the Vampire muttered, he could not talk anymore because of the pain that he felt before getting worse, he only can cry quietly and hoping for the masked man killed him without a pain. The Masked man's fang getting bigger, as he held the vampire body he smells the blood that was still flowing in the Vampire's vein, the fresh blood. The smell of the fresh blood making showing his true self, he sucks the Vampire blood through the Vampire's neck, he sucks it with the incredible speed as if he has been thirsty after running from far distance. He drunk it till it dried, till the last drop of the blood. The look on his face describing the look of satisfying. The moonlight shining bright on his side, making it looks like it was an incredible show of the incredible movie, he held the Vampire dead body while looking at the beautiful big moon.

"I still feel it, empties"
