Fever

Since we just lost two of our family members, Maxon and I invited my family to stay a few days at the palace. They unpacked their bags in their rooms and all. We are about to all hang out in the lounge room. Maxon and I walk there with them all as we all find a place to sit. "Good morning everyone!" I say. "Good morning!" a chorus of voices say.

Maxon's POV...

"Hey, Maxon wanna hold her it play with Astra?" Kenna asks. "Sure, " I say. She hands her to me. She's so peaceful and adorable. I play with her. I 'chase' her around the room.

America's POV...

I talk with everyone but I can't help watching Maxon with Astra. For being an only child he's really good with kids. We just keep talking for hours. Maxon plays with Astra. Holds her. All sorts of stuff. He even takes her to get her snack from the kitchen.

The next morning...

I get out of bed and I walk into Maxon's bedroom. He's not here! Where is he?

I get dressed and I walk all over the place looking for Maxon. I finally find him. He's with Kenna, James, and Astra. I look through the crack in the door because they didn't close it all the way. I turn back around and I start walking down the hall. "America, " someone calls. I turn my head to see Queen Amberly. "I just wanted to let you know that my sister Adele and her family are almost here, " she says. "Okay. Thank you, " I reply. She walks away and not too long after I hear her sister ad family come through the palace doors. I go get Maxon and we walk down to them together. Maxon's little cousins come rushing over. I just kind of hang out for now. "America, " Queen Amberly calls. I walk over to her and her sister. "Hello Princess America, " Adele says. "Please just America is fine, " I say. We talk for a few moments and then I look over to see Maxon playing with his little cousins. He's so good with kids. "Who's that?" I hear one of the kids ask. "She's beautiful, " one says. Who are they talking about? "That's the princess, " Maxon says. "Wait you have a sister?" one asks. "No guys she's my wife. So your cousin in law, " Maxon says. "America!" he calls. I walk over there. And kneel down to Maxon's level. "America, meet Holly, Jackson, Michael, and Chris." Hi everyone, " I wave. Queen Amberly disappears. Adele waves me over. Maxon plays with his cousins. "I always feel guilty when I come, " Adele says. "Why?" She tells me all about the queen's miscarriages. "You should know she thinks of you as if you were her actual daughter, " Adele says. "Really?" I ask. She nods. "I feel so bad for her too. Maxon would make an amazing big brother, " Adele says. "He would." "I wish he was." "Me too Adele." "You know he would make a fantastic father too." I blush. "I know. Although he would always spoil them." "He would." "Do you guys know when you are going to have a child?" "Not exactly. We've talked about it before but I wanted to wait until I could be a good mother for them." "America you would both me amazing parents." "He would but I have doubts for myself." "Like what?" "It's just I don't know if I will be who they need me too." "I'm sure you will be exactly who they need." "Thanks. Queen Amberly would love having a grandchild, wouldn't she?" "She would be over the moon. She will definitely spoil them. That's where Maxon gets it from." I stare at Maxon with his little cousins and Astra. He would make an amazing father. "What if I have a miscarriage that's my biggest thing? I couldn't put Maxon through that." "I can't tell you if you will or not but it's better to have tried than to wonder what if. Also, you kind of have to have an heir." I nod. "Here's my number if you ever need to talk. Also, try calling Amberly mom she would probably like that." "Thanks and I will." She walks away leaving me with my thoughts. All of Adele's kids go with her to get ready for lunch. Astra goes with Kenna and James. Maxon comes over to me and kisses me. "Hello darling." "Hi Maxon. You are really good with them you know." He smiles, "You think so?" "I do." He smiles again. "I wish I had siblings." "I know you do." "You know?" "Yes, my love." "How?" "It's how you are with them. Plus, I was told you were supposed to." He looks sad. I turn to him and grab both his hands. He looks at me. I rub my thumbs on his hands. "Maxon?" "Yes?" "I wanna have a baby, " I say softly. He looks surprised. "Seriously?" I smile and nod. "That is if you want to, " I say turning around jokingly and looking very shoulder at him. He smiles. "Of course I do!" he says excitedly. He picks me up and kisses me. "I love you." "I love you to your royal husbandness." He smiling so big. He twirls me around. "You're so excited. You realize I'm not pregnant yet right?" I laugh. "I know but you will be!" he says. I laugh. "Alright let's go to lunch, " I say. "Ok."
