44 A new group

Many groups were created with both the red prisoners dressed in white and the normal citizens of Levigne, even though the ratio of the prisoners was way more.

To determine the group, the moment everyone was gathered there including those from the other days and the recruitment was completely over, more city officials came into the room.

In seconds, a big bowl full of tiny papers was placed in and everyone was asked to pick. The moment they did, their numbers would be recorded and then they would again ask to wait.

Ray chose the number 69. He hadn't been in a hurry to move forward the second the bowl was placed there and since he and every other person there didn't really know what the numbers in the paper went, they simply went with it.

Finally, after about another hour of waiting, people's names were called out, in groups of five. The moment their names were called someone would be there to receive them and lead them out of the room.
