12 Chapter 12 An Annoyance In Class

They could be rarely found in dungeon caverns with a large mana density and were in high demand. Mana Crystal's were expensive, one could earn a fortune by selling a small amount.

She was so engrossed in the book that she didn't notice when the teacher entered the class and started the lecture.

When she finished the chapters related to potion making, she realized the class had started and closed the chemistry book.

Listening to the lecture in boredom, she dozed off. Her shoulder was tapped lightly, she opened her eyes and looked at the figure of the girl standing beside her desk.

She looked at the podium and saw that the teacher was gone, the class had probably ended. She turned her attention back to the girl, she recognized this girl who was one of the popular girls in class. "Something?"

"Ahm, do you know why your friends didn't come to school today?" She asked.

She raised an eyebrow, "I didn't come to school for over a week, and you didn't ask how I was doing but asked about others. Do you, perhaps, have a crush on one of them?"

The girl blushed and fidgeted a little, making her amused. "It's not a bad thing to like someone, but you should make sure whether the person is worthy of your liking."

"What do you mean?" The girl's expressions turned stern.

"They took me to a dungeon last week and almost killed me. You know I am not a Ranker and can't protect myself, when they thought I died they fled the scene. I have been trapped in a dungeon for a week, that's why I was absent from the school. I would have died if not saved by someone."

"Do you think such people are worthy of anyone's liking?" She asked in a solemn tone.

"This…" The girl was stunned after hearing the news.

"How do I know you are telling the truth? It could be you who did something to make them angry and leave you behind, instead of them betraying you collectively?" She asked with trepidation.

She lay her head back on the desk and waved her hand lazily. "You don't need to believe me, anyway, you won't see them again in the future."

"Won't see them? What does this mean?" She asked anxiously.

She closed her eyes and ignored the girl.

Gu Yuxi left the capital and came to this city for a reason. She belonged to one of the Great families in the capital and was the perfect marriage candidate for most families in the capital to climbed to a Great family. Not to mention she was raised and doted on by Gu Zhanci, the pride of the country.

The benefits of marrying her were countless, even the other Great families were tempted and joined in the race to win the favor of the beauty. And so, Gu Yuxi became the target of wooing wherever she went, and it affected her everyday life at some point.

That's when her aunt decided to sent her to this city by hiding her identity and allowing her to live a normal life. Unfortunately for her, she could only live such a life for only half a year and died.

"Hey, she left."

"Are you telling the truth that you stayed in a dungeon for a week? What did it feel like? Er, I mean, what monsters were inside?" A curious whisper sounded from the girl sitting at the front desk.

She opened her eyes and looked at the girl who was popular with the teachers as a good student with excellent grades.

"Yeah, there were Savage Wolves and Red Eyed Horned Rabbits." She replied casually.

"How did you survive for so long without being a Ranker."

"I hid in the trees, but they eventually found me, and then I was saved by someone." She satisfied the curious baby.

Before the girl could ask another question, she stopped her and gestured towards the podium, where another teacher was standing now. "The next class is about to begin."

Putting a break to her inquiry, she went back to take a nap until the lunch break started, and she left the classroom to go to the cafeteria.

The cafeteria building had six floors, and each floor provided a different variety of dishes of the same rank. The first floor had E ranked ingredients and the rank of the ingredients increased with each floor, and the highest sixth floor had S ranked dishes.

The dishes in the cafeteria were costly and most of the ingredients were bought with the funds provided by wealthy families to give their children a comfortable environment and healthy food in the school.

Most of the students ate on the upper floors, and even the poorest students could eat on the first floor.

She chose to go to the sixth floor, which was mostly empty because even the wealthy children didn't have enough pocket money to eat on this floor. Only the noble children of the most wealthy families in the city could afford to eat here.

She gave a cursory glance at the students who were eating here and recognized quite a few of them, they were famous figures in the school.

She picked up a tray and selected a vegetable dish and two meat dishes, along with a glass of orange juice. After getting her meal from the self-service area, she took purposeful steps toward a table where a lone student was sitting.

She pulled a seat and sat across from her, a beauty from the third year. "Hi"

She just nodded politely in response and went back to eating.

"I heard that your Su family keeps the database on the dungeons in this city." She inquired while eating.

The girl raised her head from her meal and gave her a critical glance this time. "And?"

Yuxi raised a smile and said frankly. "And I want to make friends with you, friends with mutual benefits." She emphasized in the end.

"Oh?" Su Ming raised an eyebrow. "I have never seen you on this floor before, what kind of benefits can you provide me, exactly?"

The implication was that she wasn't seen on this floor before and might not be able to afford the meal here often, so what kind of benefit could she give her?

Before today, Yuxi ate on the fifth floor, where most of the wealthy children dined. She went there with her so-called friends, and the other purpose was to be low-key and not be recognized as a member of the Gu family.

To Su Ming, Yuxi was one of the many students who approached her with a purpose. But the difference was that she stated this fact frankly and wasn't hypocritical, which made her interested.

Yuxi got lost in thought. Except for money, the only thing she had of value right now was the Healing Potion. Su Ming didn't lack money, as for the Healing Potion, she was willing to give it away to get more benefits from this girl. But she wasn't in an urgent need of anything right now.

"I do have something that can interest a Ranker, but I am not in an urgent need of anything right now. Let's talk about it in a couple of weeks or so, until then, it doesn't hurt to make acquaintance, no?" She said casually, not afraid that the girl will lose interest in her. Even if she did, in front of real benefits, she will have to turn back to her.

"Oh" Su Ming's curiosity was piqued. "Something that could benefit a Ranker? Is it a magical weapon or something?"

She raised her eyes lazily in between her bites and replied casually. "It's a potion that can heal small wounds completely and a medium size wound to a certain extent. You can consider it to be a life-saving means inside a dungeon, that is, if you don't have a Healer with you."

Su Ming sat up straight and got serious.

"Are you telling the truth? Show me a sample."

Yuxi smiled and wagged her index finger. "Neh, only an idiot would carry something so valuable with them all the time, and as I said I am not in an urgent need right now. So wait for a little while, will you?"

Su Ming calmed down immediately. She didn't know whether the girl was telling the truth right now, but It wouldn't hurt to probe further. She wouldn't lose anything, anyway. "How much do you have?"

Yuxi paused at her persistent and replied vaguely. "Not much, but how much I can give you will depend on the worth of the thing I want from you."

"And what do you want from me? You can tell me and I will prepare the thing in advance. When you need it, we can make an exchange on the spot." The girl became excited.

She picked up her glass and took a sip of the juice. After putting down the glass, she leaned back on her chair. "For now, I want an unregistered E rank dungeon in about two weeks or so. I can give you five bottles of the Healing Potion in exchange."
