A Vampire's Tale

The world of Norvak isn't for the weak. A land where might makes right isn't for the faint of heart. A land where different species battle for supremacy and the defeated either enslaved or exterminated. The continent of Revix has witnessed the rise and fall of many species. With a relatively peaceful period being established a little over ten thousand years ago. The result of this peace is the separation of different species. The land of humans, Cyntros, covered most of the central part of the continent. The lands in the north, Aterix, gave shelter to the elves and other creatures of light. The south held the creatures of darkness and it's original name, Rimul, long forgotten. A land that the humans had long dubbed, The Darklands. To the east was an endless desert where the banished and hated lay their bones. A place where nature threatens both predator and prey. Yet most feared of all was the west, a land of giants and titans. Where mountains vanish and valleys form from the movements of it's inhabitants. On the edges of The Darklands, the greed of men sends a group of hunters to their demise. The lone survivor, Milas, is turned into one of the ruling species of The Darklands, a vampire. With a past clouded in mystery and an uncertain future, Milas does all he can to survive. With the potential to become more than he could have ever imagined, Milas faces all threats that come his way. "The right to live is a privilege that only the powerful have access to. I don't appreciate others having that privilege over my life. And I'll do what I must to earn my right!"

34 Blood Ability Class

Time passed in a flash and a bell rang in the hallway to indicate the end of the lesson. Some students seemed to have formed groups while others like Milas kept to themselves. Milas was about to use the bracelet to point him to the next class when he saw Aileen walking towards the door with a small green arrow floating above her left wrist.

The design of her bracelet was a purple tiger with sky blue stripes. Milas had noticed that everyone had a unique design ranging from creatures to weapons, armours and even items. There were also people who still had the plain black design but no one seemed to know or care what it meant. Milas knew that he'd find out eventually and decided to follow Aileen to the next class.

"What the heck do you think you're doing you pervert?" Aileen said in a strained whisper like she could barely stop herself from screaming. She was staring holes into Milas who had his hand on her shoulder.

"I'm accompanying you to the next class. Remember that I haven't acted rude since I answered nicely, which means that our deal stands no matter how annoying I get." Milas was proud of himself for finding this loophole in her condition. He was going to reinforce her first impression of him being an annoying pervert so that she can put down her guard.

Deogratius had taught him that the best way to backstab someone was to make them see you as a nuisance and not a threat. Trust takes time to build but getting someone annoyed is easy. The trouble was to not annoy someone to the point of wanting to get rid of you. Milas was having great practice with the girl who could only clench her fists as she walked to the next class with him sticking to her like a shadow.

The fun was interrupted when they entered the expansive hall that gave Milas goosebumps. Aileen noticed his reaction and used the chance to escape him but Milas was actually trembling. The fear in his eyes could not be masked and Aileen scanned the hall to find what might have scared Milas. The place had place had plain white walls with multiple shelves with weapons and pieces of armour on them, it was just a large training hall.

Milas' mind was reliving weeks of trauma that he never realized he had. The academy training hall was a larger version of the one in Deogratius' mansion. The pain was still fresh in his mind. Deogratius would deliver a specific type of injury to him and have his body adapt to the pain before switching to something else. Although Milas could endure so many types of pain to a certain degree, he hated Deogratius' guts for making him undergo that kind of torture.

He finally managed to get a grip and it was just in time as a gorgeous woman walked into the hall. Her hair was dyed blue with the ends being white. Her brown eyes were mesmerizing and her face was too beautiful even for a vampire. The boys couldn't look away from her or more specifically her curvy body that was covered by a red dress. The material was the strongest thing Milas had seen as it held two mountains upright. The sheer size of the breasts made every girl jealous. They were as big as her head which most of the boys didn't look at.

Milas wasn't even trying to look away. Why would he when those two mounds gave the promise of breaking free at any time. Pain from his foot brought him back as Aileen had stepped on his foot.

"Why are you so jealous? Just cause I walked here with you doesn't mean we're engaged so let me live my life in bliss."

"You idiot, she is using her charm skill on everyone here. Can't you tell?" Aileen couldn't believe that this idiot was charmed so easily when she couldn't charm him. His mind would naturally resist whenever she tried.

"How is she using the charm skill when her eyes aren't even glowing?" Milas was curious about this since even Deogratius' eyes glowed when he used the charm skill.

"She is a charmer class vampire, their class can use the charm skill without the glow. It's a trait they have." Aileen answered which was much to Milas' surprise.

"Goodnight everyone, I'm your blood ability teacher, Miss Priscilla. There won't be a lesson today since it's your first class but we'll be discovering your classes today." When Priscilla spoke, those who were entranced snapped out of it and finally focused on her words.

"We can learn about our vampire classes? I can finally know what to focus on when training." Milas heard one of the students say. There were many similar conversations but they all kept mentioning one class that seemed to be everyone's dream.

"Hey Aileen, what's with the striker class people keep talking about?" Milas decided to question his closest source of information.

"You'll see." The vague answer from her made Milas annoyed but he knew that he can pay her back later. He could very petty with little things when he wanted to be.

"I want you to orderly come here one at a time and place your hand on this crystal." Priscilla tapped her heel on a tile and a shelf rose from the ground while the ones containing weapons and armour disappeared into the ground. The new shelf had a flat and wide crystal that was connected to three transparent tubes that had three subdivisions.

"These three tubes will measure the concentration of the three major energies in a vampire's body. Vampires were made from a combination of three different energies, these are chaos energy from the void, shadow element from the demon realm and aver from the abyss realm. The only vampires to achieve stability of the three energies were the originals. Gaining complete stability of the energy will turn one into the perfect vampire but like I said, only the original three accomplished this.

"The one thing we learned about the instability of the energies is that it causes differences in traits that became classified as classes. You know what, I'll be honest with you, I'm not in the mood to teach today so can you just place your hand on the crystal and I'll tell you your class. This way I finish early and give you permission to use this hall however you please. So step forward quickly." Priscilla had changed her behavior instantly and the students quickly lined up behind the one who volunteered to go first.

The boy confidently placed his hand on the crystal tablet and it immediately turned red. The color swirled before going up the three tubes but it was now three different colors. "The tube on the left is shadow with the ash grey color. The middle is the pitch black aver from the abyss. The right is chaos with its black color and red flashes. These combine to form the blood energy that powers our blood ability."

Priscilla looked at the energies that had filled their respective tubes to different heights. The chaos energy had almost filled its tube while the other two were about halfway up the tubes.

"Your chaos energy is more concentrated which makes you a warrior class. Okay don't hold up the line make room for the next person, we don't have all night."

"What is wrong with the teachers here?" Milas asked himself as the teacher was rushing and there were two more hours till the lesson ended. "Why is she rushing to finish?"

"Isn't this meant to be a lesson?" Aileen asked no one in particular.
