Everly lifted her head and glanced at the king-sized bed within the room.

Her gaze fell on the male figure with a bandaged head who lay on the bed with the bed sheet covering him and his face turned to the other side.

 "Son." Mrs. Yeager spoke with a soft smile on her face, and the male figure, which was Victor, moved, attempting to sit up on the bed.

Everly, whose gaze was fixed on him, swallowed hard, her heart abruptly starting to beat at a rapid speed.

For the first time in three years, she was going to see him again.

Victor sat up on the bed and rubbed his face with his hand.

He turned his head to answer his mother, but the moment his eyes fell on Everly, he stilled on the spot, unmoving.

They stared at each other, and Everly, who was dormant as well, slowly blinked her eyes.
