Am I Lying, Everly?

"Everly." His husky voice called the instant his eyes met hers, and Everly immediately panicked.

Fear flashed in her gaze and she began to take steps back.

"What are you doing?" Luthier questioned angrily, his gaze drawn to the shattered window.

Knowing that she had to leave no matter what, Everly quickly turned around and rushed towards the rope.

She grabbed a hold of it, ready to jump out, but Luthier, who made it to her on time, gripped her by the waist and pulled her back, causing her to fall on top of him as he landed on the floor.

"Let me go!" Everly struggled to free herself from his grip, but even though he wasn't in a good position either, he held tightly to her, worsening her injury in the process.

"Ahhh!" Everly screamed in pain as his strong arm pressed down on her wound. "Let go! Please, let go!" She pleaded with eyes already filled with tears unable to bear the terrible pain she was feeling in her belly.
