CHAPTER 76: "The Cooling Off Moment".
Meanwhile, Alex was trying to calm down his hand resting on the forehead. He removed his hand, took a deep breaths while looking up the ceiling, and put his hands on the pockets. As he finally began to compose himself and started walking towards Sonia,Annika interrupted by blocking his way whist holding a glass of water in her hand.
She offered the glass and said, "l think you need somewater. Don't worry it isn't hot, it's cool mineral water. It should help you calm down a bit".
Alex placed his one hand in the pockets and said, "Well thanks for concern but l am alright Mrs Annika" .
As he tried to move in the direction, he intended, Annika blocked his way. Frustrated, Alex asked, "What do you really want ? First, you were mocking me, and now you're forcing me to drink water. Did you put something in it? I would never drink anything served by you".
Annika replied, calmy if you are scared of drinking the water, let me take a sip. Maybe that will satisfy you. A man who truly values for his wife never doubts her intentions. Anyways, why am l even saying this ?"
Alex watched her intently as she brought the
glass to her lips. Raising an eyebrow, he said softly, "Comeon, drink it.Why aren't you drinking? It's been almost umm- let me check the time" . He looked at his wrist watch and continued, "Oh yes, look it's already 15 seconds, and still haven't drunk the water. If l keep standing here,l'll be here for the rest of my life".
Sonia couldn't control herself and gigled loudly. Alex moved a little bit closer near her and, with a playful tone, said, "Thank you, "Mrs Dramatic Queen", at least you have made my best friend laugh, lifting her glasses, so they fit properly on her face. For a moment, they were lost in each other's eyes, the universe seeming to disapear around them.
Alex then continued, "By the way, thank you, Mrs Dramatic, for helping for making Sonia smile. That's more enough for today". He winked and smiled, then he finally headed towards Sonia.
