For a moment, I thought that I heard something, a sound that pierced through my ear and into my brain. One that was horrible. But that was merely my imagination.

Or was it?

There was this feel in the air, one that told me that it was nothing but a mere scream. But even if it was real. Or if it was not, it still ruined my mood.

This scream, whether real or not, it did not have the decency to be amusing. To have that shrill to it that brought joy to my mind. It was just filled with horror, at what, well I could guess.

But either way, I still just set myself into a runner's stance, a pace set by my own stamina rather than any indicator.

Then, with nary a whisper, I was off. Chambers flew past me, gray and black oozed together in a meld that gave me some sort of headache.

But then, when I stopped to catch my breath and sip at the water I held at my side, I found it unusually quiet.

No more was there this buzz of activity that held with it the life of the goblins around. But there was more and less at the same time.

A sort of disquiet that disturbed the soul. Of course, it did not disturb me in the lightest. But once I investigated, put my head to the ground and looked. I found the source.

My nose twitched and my eyes gave off some violet light, one that let me see through the veil of darkness this cave held.

One chamber, filled with the corpses of goblins, each and every one of them killed by some sort of small object. If I had to guess it was the size of a rock. One that you would throw at your friends for amusement.

But it was not just one hole, it was, at a light count, hundreds. Each of them pierced right through, and just judging by the expressions on their face in their death, it was not pleasant. A death by a thousand cuts.

What a way to go.

But beyond just the horror of their deaths, beyond the harrowed expressions they held in their death throes. There was this sense of admiration, one that I could not help but reluctantly feel.

All at the brutal deaths that whoever this was had caused.

I licked my lips, the sight of which would have disturbed anyone. But luckily there was no one else here...

I looked up, to no where in particular and found myself hoping to god that Lily had not seen that, it was so embarassing.

It was something that some edgy teen would do not be, nope. I groaned into my hand and continued.

But then I remembered, the ethereal scream. It gave one of two options, either they had been sadistic enough to torture their opponent to death, or they had been humiliated.

Or, and this was just an or, a part of my mind that was quite pessimistic. It was not a scream at all and merely my imagination.

I ran through another chamber, for a moment I stopped. The scent of blood was different, it had a different taste too.

For a moment I just closed my eyes and sniffed, then I found the source. It was different alright. And I knew the taste.

Human.

I ran again, it was fresh, and meant that they were quite close. I was right too, as almost immediately I found myself in front of a decorated chamber.

It was filled with strange symbols, skull and the like. But the weirdest thing was the cute totem made of hide and some wood.

I opened the door and ignored the decorations, I merely strode forth, and like the world had some sense of drama I was blinded by some sort of light.

It was enough that my eyes, so used to the dark, took a moment to adjust to the light that it held.

Then my vision returned and it was to the sight of something completely ridiculous. So much that I couldn't help the wheeze that came out of my mouth.

Corpses were strewn about, each and every one of them with thousands of little holes in them that told me that whoever had done this was the person I was following.

But that was not what had caused me to laugh, oh no, it wasn't that. It was to the sight of the throne, where the boss goblin lived.

Yet on his lap was a girl, probably no older than I was. Maybe in her teens at most.

SLAP

"Hehe" I laughed, I couldn't suppress my giggles anymore, at least not to the sound that just rang out right now.

I looked up and saw a teary eyed girl, she was sat on her stomach on the knee of the goblin. And he... oh my god he spanked her.

As if he was just dealing with some belligerent child. It was too funny, especially since it had completely taken me by surprise.

She even had her butt up, fully clothed mind you, but they were still ragged and it didn't leave much to the imagination, fortunately and unfortunately.

"Bad Girl"

It growled that out and I couldn't help but mutter a sentence that rang throughout the cavern.

"If this is some kind of play then… um… I'll just go" It was said in this awkward smiling manner. But both of us knew it was teasing.

"NOO! Save me from this- this- BRUTE!" She yelled all the while being dropped from the lap of the supposed leader goblin.

I laughed for just a moment more before I wiped the tears from my eyes and approached. My hands were clenched into a fist, claws out and ready. But there must have been some glint in my eye.

As with my approach so too did the goblin let the girl go. She scurried over to me, then further until she was behind me.

I barely even spared her a glance. My focus solely on the goblin in front of me. The rest were weak, as they should be, I mean they were goblins. But this one had to be different. Right?

I watched as he approached, with a massive staff in his hands. Then with a blur he was right in front of me. I prepared to step to the side.

He raised his staff, as if he was going to cast some spell, and I prepared to dodge even more than I already was.

"EXPLOSIVE…bonk" He yelled.

For a moment I just blinked, my expectation was of some giant fire ball. Instead it was just a bonk. I mean it was still cool.

But like my disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined.

And so without any more wasted time I dodged to the side and punched him as hard as I could.

For a moment the world stilled as he died. His entire chest caved in.

"huh? was he that weak?" I whispered out and once more my disappointment reigned free.

I bring the corpse to my head and bare my fangs before stopping and looking to the side. For a moment I just froze and retracted my fangs.

"Oops." I said, trying to act cute as I approached the girl.

She was just frozen for a second before the waterfall of tears fell. She lunged at me and hugged my body.

She squeezed and squeezed, as if trying to hug the life out of me.

"Thank you… thank you… thank you…" She continued to mumble this, dozens upon dozens of times, her makeup running down my back as she cried over it.

I just awkwardly pat her back while giving a begging look over to Lilly who only looked on in amusement.

[You have conquered a rival dungeon, would you like to consume the XP or take control of the dungeon]

I laid the girls body down, she had passed out from exhaustion after crying for so long.

But now that I was free I could finally address the two things that were currently taking up my attention.

One the body that I hadn't drank the blood of.

I licked it up and bared my fangs once again, looking at Lilly as I did so.

I saw that she blushed at the implication but other Than that there wasn't much reaction.

I shrugged and partook in the blood of the goblin.

Again it was kind of tasteless but I drank it all anyway.

[You have drank the blood of a |Goblin(lv3)|, gain 500XP]

I sighed disappointed that it wasn't anything more than that.

I still needed a solid 600 more XP until I would level up.

But other than sighing I also looked at the notification.

An uncharacteristic frown on my face.

…..

Power stones if ya would, I'm tired after fighting this all in one sitting so imma go to bed. Night y'all
