The Great Escape

3rd person

Hope made her way through the tunnels. She tried to locate Alex. Hope noticed a door. Seizing a chance, she knocked on it. Nothing. She knocked again. Nothing. She tapped and felt movement.

The door opened up to Alex looking at her, confused.

/"Hope?/"

/"Come on, Alex./"

Alex climbed down until she stopped. She reached up, pulling a rung over the door, and shut it.

The tricky part is finding their way in the dark. Alex grabbed Hope’s hand and led her, touching walls.

As they made their way, something ran over Alex’s foot. She almost screamed, causing Hope to place her hand over Alex’s mouth.

/"Don’t scream, or they will discover us. It’s a rat./"

Alex whined into her hand but nodded. Hope let go as they continued. They made their way, locating a door.

Alex twisted the handle, surprised it had opened. She opened it, and a gentle breeze hit them.

She looked at Hope.
