30 Ungrateful Bastard!

Samuel POV,
Samuel silently stared at white haired witch, gradually tightening his grip on her throat. What he got shown was something he was unrelated to, something he shouldn't have known and now, as was his nature and ability, he could never forget it either.
A few veins popped out on Minerva's forehead when she witnessed the scene, true she had fondness for him because of his nature but, Echidna was the one getting the short end of the stick here, his actions were something she couldn't permit, "You ungratefu-....!"
"Shut up."
She was cut off by Samuel who didn't even turn her way, his gaze locked on the witch of greed whose smile seemed to be somehow growing wider and wider. "You-" Minerva, quick to anger as she was, turned towards him in rage.... only to be stopped by Sekhmet, "Just for the record, Minerva you're the only one who can't beat the boy."
"Oh, you noticed..." Echidna looked at her from the corner of her eye, yes indeed, showing him that was worth it. Why? Samuel had changed yet again, grown stronger simply from a vision, a vision that was in all fairness, not even related to him.
"Haa.... I can't support your actions, Echidna... That boy.... just got granted a Divine Protection... Do you want to ruin ... this world?" The witch of sloth expressed her disapproval, was Echidna trying to birth a monster here?
"It's just me showing my support as a tender maiden." Echidna's smile turned more normal as she gently placed her own two hands on the hand choking her, the original purpose of showing him, or rather putting him through all that Subaru would face was simply a way to show his superiority, the fact that he was steadfast, not even slightly stressed after seeing or rather, going through years upon years of suffering, the different possibilities the future of the other otherworlder held, and to not be broken but instead be even more firm....
How was.... he not superior to the boy? Unwavering, Unrelenting, Immovable, to change him, to make him break would be akin to striking a cement wall with a soft ball expecting it to break.
For this express purpose, she had used the authority she actually detested making use of. The original book of wisdom, which drew information directly from the memory of the world itself. Past, Present, Future, she could know it all in a moment but refused only, only because there would be no fun in doing so.
"What is wrong with you?" Samuel muttered out letting go of Echidna's neck as the witch fell to ground coughing, marks had formed around her neck, as much as he wanted to strangle her to death for making him watch what he read about in real time, Samuel understood that she was already dead.... was there a way to kill an already dead person?
Yes, simply put, she made him see the Re Zero story from Subaru's perspective.... except, this only served to reaffirm that Subaru... could have used the power he had with far greater efficiency.... The things he had done were stupid... though, amidst all that stupidity, Samuel found something respectable, the kid went through all that for someone he loved.... Something Samuel could never do...
Though another certainly strange aspect was that, he didn't feel as if it was that long at all even though it should have felt like that.... considering it was years... (A/N: It was one timeline, not adding in the changes and diversions that would happen from Return by Death.)
Perhaps having already read the story itself, seeing it in a more realistic fashion had less of an effect than it should have... though, he did feel as if he had obtained a new power from that.
"What did you mean?" Samuel turned towards the tall lady standing near him, she said something about a Divine Protection. "Nothin' much, death isn't going to be stopping you anymore, boy." Sekhmet sighed, now she was really really curious..... though, it wasn't the best time for her to ask the question she wanted answered.
"You have or had, a Divine Protection graanted to you by Od Laguna. I don't get why thooough." Daphne grinned widely, showing off her pointed teeth. Samuel nodded rubbing his chin in thought, what? You expected him to change or something? Nahh, he was well beyond the point of change from something like that.
"Huh..." Samuel was somewhat surprised, the Od Laguna, if he remembered correctly, was the source of all Divine Protections, these being supernatural powers granted to people sometimes randomly, sometimes due to some specific event, why give him one though?
"Y-You don't have it a-anymore." Carmilla instantly burst his bubble, it was somewhat exciting to get a supernatural power but..... he got it and then lost it?
"Echidna, I'll be taking my leave for today." Samuel looked to the Witch of Greed who was still on the ground rubbing her throat, "You know you could be nicer to a girl, very hurtful." She complained with a small pout raising her hand towards him.
As he disappeared though, she could barely make out a middle finger raised towards her..... "Rude..."
"I.. wai-" Typhon tried to stop him but was too late.... the Witch of Pride wished to apologise for her behaviour, she had attacked a person that wasn't bad at all... She looked down dejectedly with her hands clenched tightly, she was going to make this right no matter what.
"How rare, for all of you to show yourselves." Echidna smiled standing up from the ground, the witches almost never convened, much less appeared at the same time..... As she had judged, Samuel was a very interesting man.
"Indomitable and now unstopped by death itself..... What an outrageous being....." Sekhmet sighed, vanishing into the background as if she was never there. "Why am I the one who loses?!" Minerva shouted, raising her hands in protest and kicking the ground, making everything shake.
"I hope I can get a bite." Daphne too disappeared into seemingly nothing, she really really really really wanted to take a bite out of him.
"I-I'll be going too." Carmilla too disappeared, she was interested in the strange man now though.

Samuel POV,
Samuel woke up lying with his back to the cold wall of the tomb, some vines were in his hair which he was quick to get out of. "That was.... something." Samuel muttered taking out his phone, first of all, crazy bitches, second of all, he didn't or rather couldn't follow half of what happened and finally..... Why were they talking about him like he was something special?
Hell, he stood out for sure, there was no denying that but it was for being 'less' than average.
All this aside though, he quickly opened the chat group's logs, maybe it had an explanation as to what powers they were talking about....
What he saw next... was something that made him facepalm, call himself a fucking retard and then make a mental note to check this after certain intervals no matter what. Especially with the fact that there were no actual notifications or mention of this part.
[ - Skills Reactive Adaptation (Inherent Skill) and Regeneration (Zombieman's Constitution) have merged as a result of the skill Adaptation.
- New skill, Adaptive Regeneration has been formed within the body.
- A power identified as the Divine Protection of the Phoenix has been granted by foreign party (Observed to be Od Laguna)
- The ability to be reborn after death for one and only one instance.
- The body has reacted to the Divine Protection of the Phoenix.
- Change detected, the Divine Protection of the Phoenix has been assimilated into Adaptive Regeneration by help of foreign entity (Identified as the individual Echidna).
- New skill has been identified and catalogued.
- Adaptive Regeneration: Rebirth, has been catalogued. The skill allows for the, as previously stated, body to regenerate in a way that allows it to adapt to the initial cause of damage, to some extent, gaining immunity to it. At the same time however, the 'Rebirth' part allows resurrection after death, in the process, building immunity to the cause of death making it impossible to kill you the same way twice. The magical nature of the constituent suggests an adaptability to magic.

Samuel sighed..... with this ability..... wasn't he pretty much a variant of Doomsday?.... "Here's hoping this doesn't bring me unnecessary trouble." He said placing the phone back in his pocket and walking out of the tomb with slow footsteps.
The sun rays hit his eyes making him squint them in slight confusion, why did it seem like it was morning now?
Beatrice, who had refused to leave the place without her contractor, instantly appeared next to him, tightly gripping his hand, "Why were you gone for such a long time?!" She complained, punching him in the side making Samuel facepalm.
"How long?" Was it going to be one of those 'spent months there unknowingly' situations?
".....50 hours, 12 minutes...." Beatrice replied looking down with inflated cheeks, appearing similar to a chipmunk which made Samuel smile and pick her up by her shoulders, "You're a cute little thing aren't you?" He had to admit, it did somewhat brighten up his day seeing someone this adorable.
"W-Where do you get off calling people cute out of nowhere?!" She shouted in embarrassment, waving around her arms, nearly smacking his face in the process... she actually wanted to venture inside after the first two hours.....
Samuel, despite smiling however, did seek to be alone for some time right now….. It was a bit taxing mentally…

Oh right last chapter I got a comment about the fic bein feminist. Mate, what the fuck were you talking about? What feminism? The fact that most of the female characters so far have dominant personalities? Well that's the way they are in the source, changin them to appease to your 'masculinity' would be me writin OOCs and those are somethin I actually detest. Though with the presence of characters like Carmilla, Shouko, Saki and a multitude of others, even that makes no actual sense.
Have you actually seen Samuel yield or back down in front of any woman or female character except for his own mother? If you're sayin it's feminist that he chose to back down rather than oppose her then, fuckin respect your parents more lad.
If you see a contradiction with source, feel free to point it out.
As for those lot that are gonna comment, you could have replied discreetly and you just want attention. Not really, I felt that this aspect needed to be explained to everyone. Also even if I did.
