97 The Gremory Progenitor

England,

Norfolk,

Samuel POV,

"...."

Samuel was speechless, yes he was completely speechless. The insanely beautiful crimson haired woman currently poking his cheek with a childish smile on her face definitely wasn't the cause of it though. An insanely endowed figure and crimson hair done up to the sides, held up by black ribbons and a small crown on her head.

Ophis stared at the silent and awed Samuel with a hint of confusion in her eyes, what was he doing? Why was he frozen in front of some bat? Did she intrigue him? The Dragon God silently grabbed onto his shirt, she wasn't going to let some weird creature steal his interest, if he started following the bat around, he'd be like multitudes of men she'd seen before.

'Runeas Gremory, one of the first Devils to ever be created, and the progenitor of House Gremory.'

"Eh, are you smitten by me? Totally understandable!" The redhead gave him a toothy grin and a thumbs up, he was hot as hell too so Runeas welcomed it!.... Leviathan would be drooling over him were she here... and she'd probably chain him up too... That arrogance was a real bummer.

Samuel only now turned to face her and the Devil paused in her movements, holy shit was he h-*ehem* did he think he could intimidate her? Then, the silver haired teenager proceeded to push her face away from himself with a straight face, he'd been stumped because it was a shock to see a first generation Devil, not because she was good looking.

Runeas winced under his push, a pained expression forming on her face for a moment but then disappearing right the next moment.

"What even managed to injure you?" Samuel questioned looking her up and down, her sundress, which did nothing to hide her voluptuous figure was torn in some places and blood seeped out. There were also some burn marks present on her bare arms.

Runeas clicked her tongue, avoiding his gaze and folding her arms, upset, "I'm not injured." She grumbled.

Samuel deadpanned, he'd known she was supposed to be somewhat childish but this was a new high, "Yeah, and that's just me seeing stuff." He pointed at her injuries with a small sigh, he'd sa-.. no, she was an ultimate class devil, those fallen were never going to be able to kill her, 'protected' her would be more apt, anyway, he'd protected her on a whim but... This was turning out rather amusing.

"Woah, you see stuff?"

"And you don't?"

"...You have me there." The redhead nodded slowly before sighing, "Kokabiel got the drop on poor ol' me." With a small giggle, Runeas made a V sign near her forehead, placing her other hand at her hips... And the next moment.

'That.....That's completely against the laws of physics. What are those? Balloons?' Echidna seemed... annoyed.

"Uh huh." Slowly reaching for the Gremory Progenitor, Samuel pushed down her hands so that she at least somewhat looked normal.. She was supposed to be an adult right?

"Kya, touching me so boldly~!" Runeas squirmed with her arms wrapped around her figure, a playful smile drawn across her face... Samuel admitted it was an.. enticing sight, but, not nearly enough...

The silver haired teenager slightly smiled at her antics, "Right... I'll be off then." With those words, he turned to leave, a casual smile on his face.. Only, his arm was grabbed by Runeas from behind.

"I do have to pay back my saviour though. I'd be a disappointment as a lady otherwise." Runeas nodded to herself, multiple times even, as if confirming something mentally, "What do you want? Riches? Power? Wealth? Women?"

Samuel pondered on her words for a moment, "Hmm..... You?"

'...'

"....."

"...."

The Witch, the Dragon and the Devil were silent.

....Moments passed.

...

...

...But then, they were both drawn out of their surprise by the silver haired teenager's stifled laughter. Samuel laughed with a hand over his mouth, the grass on the ground seeming far more interesting all of a sudden.

"You would mock a Devil?" The voice was now unexpectedly serious and Samuel was reminded that even if she'd been playful later on, she was still relatively young at the moment.... Or, she was fucking with him.

"Yeah." Samuel smiled, staring at the redhead as wind brushed against his hair.

Ophis stared between Samuel and Runeas, why were they wasting time with words if they were angry? Why not hit one another...? Though, the dragon god admitted it was mildly entertaining to observe such an exchange.

"Totes amazing!"

Runeas practically buckled over laughing, hitting him on the shoulder, amused, entertained, and joyful. The Gremory Progenitor was immensely pleased with his answer, "Finally! A change in atmosphere, most humans just go 'AHHHH!!'" Runeas imitated a scream, a jovial expression on her face, "And most of the others just keep rambling on and on about enslaving people."

That was totally not cool, it was boring as 'hell'.

"Though, are you using some magic on your voice?"

"Not really." Samuel smiled, this time impressed with the Devil's intuition, sure this conversation would have mostly been the same without Serenity but, that was something no one could really know.

'Are we sure this is DxD?' Echidna was pleasantly surprised.

"Well then boy, rejoice! I'll travel with you for some time!" Runeas proclaimed with a hand over her chest, the other held out towards Samuel and her head raised ever so slightly. She was taking a small break! Yes, she definitely wasn't bored of fighting just cause Devils were supposed to be 'superior', definitely not.

"No thanks." Samuel shot her down and he was certain Ophis puffed out her chest ever so slightly hearing his words. So far as the Dragon God knew, she was his only companion.

"Oh c'mon. It'll be fun, I assure you! Definitely. Yes.... Maybe.." Runeas' voice lowered near the end of her sentence and the redhead started rubbing her chin with a confused yet thoughtful expression.

Samuel only smiled in mild amusement, in truth, he had no problems having her come along. The more the merrier after all.. and, they desperately needed some new members for the GC. It was getting kinda weird with only him and the old man there to converse with one another.

Seemingly having a Eureka moment, Runeas' eyes lit up before she folded her arms under her chest, emphasising her 'gifted' figure even more than her sundress already did, "Mhm, maybe we can come to an agreement~?" The redhead smiled strangely.

Samuel recoiled in disgust.

"Wait! Wait! I was just joking! Come on, I'm a maiden at heart. I wouldn't offer my body up like that....." Just as it looked as if she was redeeming herself, "We can arrange something if you're interested though.."

Samuel facepalmed. It's not that he really minded women sleeping around.... Well he did if he was interested in them that way.... That aside, he was relatively unbothered about his parents having had flings before but definitely not if they were something like the public toilet.

Ophis looked at Runeas, deep in thought. Was a grown and voluptuous figure more enticing? The Dragon God found herself in a dilemma.

"Right, I've got it! I'll be paying the expenses! Please, you just have to let me tag along! The war's been dialling down in intensity lately, they should be fine without me for a day or two!.... Or a week...or two....." Runeas was as whimsical and childish as she was old, she was practically shaking Samuel at the moment, a pleading expression on her face. No shits were given for what her absence would cost the Satans. War was boring anyway. She didn't like seeing suffering and pain.

"Done."

Samuel.... was in need of money.

"Yay, let's go. I know a human city with killer tea, let's visit!" Runeas Gremory, the Progenitor of House Gremory, animatedly waved around her fist, pulling on Samuel with a big grin on her face. She had to get her mind off the battle she'd been in just prior somehow and the silver haired teenager was... strangely calming and peaceful to be around.... It gave the Devil a sense of relaxation and slight peace of mind in a time of war.
