A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

Selective Breeding

Tokyo, Japan,

Aichi Academy,

Samuel POV,

A silver haired teenager could be seen walking down a hallway with a hand in his pocket, he had mostly gotten over the incident in the morning by now and was headed towards the headmistress' office.

"There goes my break." He sighed in disappointment, just as the bell had rung, a dagger had lodged itself into his table, asking him to report to Yukino as soon as possible.

'That was unnecessary.'

Samuel nodded his head in agreement, though was already used to the wild stuff this school pulled out of seemingly nowhere. Tsukuyo had expressed her desire to accompany him but Samuel had convinced her otherwise, he also had something to discuss regarding this place after all.

Arriving at the office, he opened the door and walked in, a small relaxed smile on his face. "You called?"

"Shouldn't you call me principal or madam?" Yukino asked, putting a finger on her lips, that was the norm right? Did he not have respect for his elderly?

"Koharu Narukami.. pleased to make your acquaintance."

Samuel looked at the regally dressed girl before slightly bowing his head in greeting, "Samuel Hayes, likewise." He walked over to the table, standing near it with his hands behind his back. All things aside, he would need permission to sit... It wasn't stupid, it was called manners.

Koharu looked at him with an appraising gaze but at the same time, Samuel too was observing her. She had blonde hair, blood red eyes and a fairly petite figure covered by a full body dress, she also had a cloth draped over it giving a rather, 'rich young lady' feel.

"May I see your hand?" She smiled sweetly, holding out her hand, there was something she had to test here.

Samuel, seeing no real harm in it, extended his hand only for Koharu to grab and slam it on the wooden table.

Yukino had appeared near the door, keeping watch and guard while also making sure that her lady wasn't hurt in the exchange.

'Rude.'

"...Can I know why?" Samuel smiled, closing his eyes, no harm so no foul and besides, he didn't want any violence for now.. perhaps because of what had happened in the morning.

"You have a rather strange personality huh?" Koharu slightly grinned, revealing pointed teeth which confused Samuel, how was that biologically possible?

'..This academy isn't a rehabilitation centre.' Echidna had just then realised what the true purpose of this place was... He was right, humans weren't supposed to have those kind of teeth at all.

Koharu picked up a pen from the table and grinning, stabbed it into his hand.

"Hmm?" Samuel slightly tilted his head, still not having opened his eyes, was this girl an idiot?

"Doesn't work hmm." She slightly tilted her head, the grin still on her face and twisted the pen increasing the sharpness by a fair bit.

Only... it still didn't go through.

"Are you retarded?" Samuel asked calmly, the hand that she was trying to stab moved faster than Koharu could notice, fingers were wrapped around her throat before she was raised to the sky.

"Hehehe.." She stabbed the pen into his forehead only for it to shatter like glass, there was no way something that brittle was doing any damage.

.....Samuel thought there was something wrong with the girl's head.

"Hold it Yukino, he won't hurt me." Koharu held up her hand stopping the woman who was holding ten daggers in her two hands in place before once more staring down at Samuel.

"Just how did they make you?" She voiced her curiosity, just what had his family done? What kind of monster had they birthed? This is what her father was trying to make... a human beyond human.

'This place is for... selective breeding.' A wide smile formed on Echidna's face, to think that something like this would exist in such a world.. They were gathering abnormals and people beyond the norm in hopes of creating something beyond, their genes to be precise. She had a few theories regarding how they would go about it but nothing concrete.

"That's plain outrageous." Samuel's smile slightly widened, maybe it was relief about finding someone willing to do even worse than him?

"Samuel Hayes, you're a monster." Koharu's grin widened to inhuman levels, appearing completely insane. "But monsters, monsters are something rather easily found in this world. You'll find this world has stronger opponents for you yet."

Like her brother for example, the 'Waltzy Walking Nomura'. The man who always had a close eyed smile, the King of Hokkai Academy. An academy run solely on might is right and a rival to Aichi Academy.

"I doubt that." Samuel placed her down, sitting on the table, he had been attacked so manners were no longer something he would uphold.

"Your services are no longer required, you may use Aichi Academy as your previous place of studying." Koharu waved her hand dismissively, turning to leave. "Congratulations I suppose. Be prepared to get called back on occasion however. That will be our agreement."

What they were doing here wasn't really illegal but at the same time, it wasn't exactly legal either.

"And what if I said no?" Samuel asked, raising his brow, was she changing the deal made?

"Well then.." Koharu slightly turned back, "You would be passing up a chance to fight, improve and go up against monsters." Besides it would be rather troubling if he stayed here, he was messing with the system.

"...." Samuel relented, folding his arms, this girl did know how to play her cards right.. Had she said some stupid shit, he would have just left without caring for the time wasted here. Seeing Koharu leave, he calmly walked over to the window before jumping out.

..."Stairs... exist. I'll mail the... letter." Yukino said plainly, once more taking a seat, she was already used to the stuff her lady pulled by now. Wait, weren't they supposed to go on a date if he succeeded in defeating the Supreme Five Swords?.... That wasn't a possibility anymore...

On another related note, Koharu had misunderstood Samuel's spitefulness completely.

Samuel dusted off his clothes, having fallen through a tree had ended with leaves in his hair as well. He was quick to pull these out and look around to see if anyone had seen the sight, noticing that no one was there, he realised he didn't care either way.

...What now though?

With a letter of recommendation from this place, he could get into most places after taking the entry tests. Question was which one he was supposed to go to?

'You can just relax for the day.' They both knew he needed to.

"Paisen, you scared the shit outta Onigawara y'know." Nomura, who had, in fact, seen him fall through the tree ran up to him with a rather serious face.

"Yeah, apologise to her for me please." Samuel bowed, scratching the back of his head, he really had gone a bit too far in what he had done.

"I will, though, you're not stayin' here are ya?" Nomura's shoulders slightly slumped, things like those were grounds for expulsion and this academy seemed to hate men more than anything.

"... You got a phone though, don't you?" Samuel smiled, patting his shoulder before giving Nomura his number, "Give this to Tsukuyo for me."

"Though, before that, can we have a bit of a spar?" Nomura asked with a cheeky grin, someone this strong, there was no way Nomura could let him go without at least one bout.

"I see no problems with that." Samuel smiled, somewhat happy at having made a new friend before rolling up his sleeves and clenching his fists, the gloves stayed on though,.. He wouldn't be taking them off in this world again.

Veins popped out on his arms, all the more apparent because of his unnaturally pale skin. He took no stance, seeing no point in it this time around.

"A slugfest it is."

Nomura bent his knees, twisting his hand as he flexed his muscles in tandem. A palm strike made contact with Samuel's stomach causing a shockwave that pushed him back a good few feet from the force it carried...

"That's some technique.."

"Ahaha..." It took Nomura years to develop it.. By using sheer muscle control Nomura could focus his strength in one hand to unleash a powerful shock-wave from a palm strike. That was the Magic Bullet.

There goes the school arc lmao. That aside, this isn't the last they'll see of Samuel though and going by what happened with Gun, I doubt Samuel would take this sitting down.
