A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

Tokyo, Japan,

Shibuya,

Samuel POV,

Samuel ran a hand over the bike's body, slightly trembling, did he even deserve something like this?

'No, we're not doing this again. It's a gift, it doesn't matter. Even I know that much.' Echidna was quick to cut off the thoughts in her contractor's head, such thoughts would stunt his growth by a lot and she couldn't have that.

"I guess that's true." Samuel nodded, he was getting a little too depressed right now and it didn't quite fit with the overwhelming desire to do a certain thing he was feeling. The hand on the katana's sling slightly tightened, getting sent off just didn't sit right with him.

For all his tiredness and forgiving nature, Samuel was a rather spiteful person when irked.

Shaking his head out of such thoughts, he got on the bike. With one movement, the engine came to life, making rather loud and impressive noises. To anyone else, they might have been bothersome depending on the situation but to Samuel, they were like music.

He revved up the engine, a small grin forming on his face as the back tire started spinning wildly, kicking up smoke and dust. Then suddenly, he removed his foot from the rear brake lever and the motorbike almost shot forward, reaching insane speeds in seconds, a trail of smoke and dust behind it.

'....' Echidna simply observed in silence, there was a difference between knowing and seeing.

Samuel was in a jovial mood because of this, the wind brushing against his face as he swerved left and right. It was as amazing as he remembered it, cars had never really been his thing. He found the feeling of freedom that came with riding bikes far more enticing than sitting in a car.

From the way he drove, expertly turning corners and avoiding other parked vehicles, it was fairly obvious that the teenager had a great degree of skill in driving.

Reaching a sort of dead end, Samuel twisted the right handle which resulted in the front wheel stopping instant and then, using the momentum and some of his own physical strength, he managed to lift the rear into the air. Twirling the bike about the front wheel until it was facing the other way around.

Samuel folded his arms with a satisfied smile, this thing was really amazing.. It's lightness was something on another level entirely and would allow much ease in pulling off otherwise difficult manoeuvres.

Just as he was about to set off again however, his phone buzzed showing a new message had been received.

[Ohkwang: I'm a bit curious about you, young man.]

Ohkwang had, just out of mere curiosity, his people search for anyone who looked like him and they found nothing. The Jade Emperor himself also didn't recognise him from anywhere, so naturally his curiosity peaked. For long living species, boredom was a great problem.

[Samuel: What would you like to know?]

A polite response.

[Ohkwang: Hmm.... tell me what you're good at.]

That was an appropriate question right?

Samuel however, scratched the back of his head in slight confusion, still sitting on the bike.

[Samuel: Fighting I think?]

What else was he good at? Manipulating the flow of conversations? That wasn't exactly a trait to be proud of. Memorising and remembering things came as a part of fighting.

[Ohkwang: Oh?]

Ohkwang was somewhat pleased, fighters were certainly a sight to behold no? And also, if he had great skill then surely, inviting him to the God of High School tournament would be greatly beneficial right? The old man shifted in his throne, in the end, his own good was what his mind was set on.

[Ohkwang: Why not come to the God of High School then?]

He had a small 'warm' smile on his face, the god of high school was a martial arts tournament held by different organisations. The one he was inviting Samuel to was the one run by his own people, a tournament with combatants from all over the world... each recognised as the strongest in their respective nations.

[Samuel: I believe I will.]

Samuel smiled wryly, this old man was really something... though, did he even stand a chance?... The group chat did allow him to travel to the worlds of members but... would it really be alright?

'Copy their techniques and martial arts... They might just be one of the strongest I've seen. With you, they can be improved as well. Splitting a nation with nothing but martial arts is enticing right?' Echidna sounded excited, she wanted to investigate the system which allowed individuals to borrow the power of gods and historical figures in that world.

[Ohkwang: Let us talk face to face then.]

The Jade Emperor had a somewhat pleased smile on his face, talking through this thing didn't quite sit right with Ohkwang and he would much rather talk face to face.

Samuel nodded his head,

[Samuel: Of course.]

The exchange as a whole had been professional rather than something like friends conversing which, no shit it had been. Samuel was a human, talking to a God hailed as the King of the Heavenly Court.

Samuel wasn't that full of himself yet.

With that, Ohkwang's icon dimmed signifying that he had put the phone away, no longer interested in conversing further.

Samuel too just placed the device back in his pocket, he had matters to attend to as well.

'It's about time to go pick your little sister.'

"Let's go then."

He revved the engine a bit before driving off.

Hanamaru Kindergarten,

Rin POV,

In a children's playground with several things like slides and sandboxes present inside it, a small silver haired girl was sitting on a bench calmly. Rin Hayes, the second daughter of the Hayes family and an academic genius. She could easily skip certain grades however, her family insisted on not doing so for reasons most people couldn't understand.

She placed the book in her hands to the side before sighing, this was getting rather boring to be honest. Her gaze went towards the small blonde girl, Anzu, who had a crush on their teacher and she smiled slightly. It was both interesting and amusing to see her antics. At the same time, Rin was curious about when the girl would come to terms with reality.

Then, her gaze went to the shy brown haired girl, Koume, and she subtly nodded. Rin had always wondered why the girl liked her brother so much and now she understood it.

Rin's brother Samuel had never really been a part of her life and she only met with him over the course of the past few days.

Regardless of this however, she liked her older brother a lot. He was always nice to her and, while he may have gotten beat up in front of her. She knew it was because he didn't want her to be afraid of himself were he to exhibit violence then and there.

Only he had misunderstood the girl's maturity.

Samuel was a nice person that would go to any lengths for his family, that was how much he loved them and Rin, Rin was certainly proud to have such an older brother. Though he spoiled her a bit too much...The girl averted her gaze, not that she minded it.

At the same time however, if what their mother said was correct.. then, he was a genius in all fields. both physically and mentally, his calm demeanour and ever present smile was something Rin couldn't understand.

Subconsciously, a competitive part of the girl now wanted his approval.

She would think more but, the revving of an engine brought her out of her thoughts and she looked around hurriedly, curious as to what was producing the noise. "....?"

Rin's eyes widened in surprise before she quickly lowered her head, trying to hide herself.

Why was her brother here?!

She saw him drive down the road and stop by her school... he was too overprotective and doting... Rin would be embarrassed should he pick her up right here.

"That, isn't that your older brother?" A small cute blue haired girl, Hiiragi, pointed at the teenager sitting on a bike just outside, she had seen him before after all. At the same time, she was curious about him too, after all the praise they heard from Rin..

Rin slowly nodded her head, raising her eyes to see if it was actually true and lo and behold, there he was, sitting on a bike, waving his hand with a silly smile plastered on his face.

The other children were quick to swarm him, to the boys the bike looked very cool and to the girls, the onii-san on it. They were children after all.

Rin was now staring at her teacher, Tsuchida, the bespectacled man had an average stature with shaggy dark brown hair that barely reached his ears and wore a dress shirt and jeans, an apron worn over them.

Tsuchida scratched the back of his head, looking at the newly arrived man in slight curiosity and awe, he didn't know what the bike was but he knew it was expensive. "Who's he here for?" He raised his voice, trying to manage the children.

"Ah, that's Rin-chan's Onii-chan!" Anzu, who was on his shoulder, shouted pointedly, a big smile on her face.

"Yo." Samuel did a small salute, a smile plastered on his face.

"Yes, h-hello." Tsuchida bowed nervously, he was a rather timid individual and someone like Samuel made him nervous, tall and broad, incredibly attractive and a lax attitude.

Rin hurried over to her brother with her gaze lowered, this was pretty embarrassing for some reason. She tugged on his shirt, not daring to lift her eyes. Samuel smiled warmly, ruffling the girl's hair, "How's your day? Did anyone bother you?"

".." Rin shook her head quickly, "N-Normal." Her voice slightly cracked from embarrassment.. This would take some getting used to.

"...." Samuel picked her up and rubbed her cheeks with his, this girl was way too cute sometimes.... This only served to embarrass her further.

"Ah well, you can leave with her. It was around time for the day to end anyway." Tsuchida smiled, this was certainly a sight... He didn't expect her to have such a doting brother.

And yes, kindergartens did allow this... so long as it didn't become an everyday occurrence.

"Nii-chan, Nii-chan, how fast is that bike?" A boy asked excitedly, it was really cool!

"Eh, I don't know either.." Samuel slightly smiled, kids and their antics were rather pleasing to the eyes.

"Onii-chan, will you marry me?"

"....."

"....They're children.. It happens.." Tsuchida sighed, slightly bowing his head in apology, though he was sure Samuel would be used to it. His appearance alone was more than enough to make some people fall head over heels for him.. It didn't make sense but, it was how the world worked anyway.

Rin's grasp on her brother's shoulder slightly tightened hearing those words.
