1 Who am I?

"Who am I? Besides a carbon form in a bustling ecosystem. A mere breath against the howling winds of politics and gossip..."

I sat cross-legged on my favourite blanket in the centre of my flat. My cat, Loki, sat patiently on my bed watching me do my morning meditations. The blanket was an earthy orange and quite worn from the many journeys I'd taken it on. It didn't serve too well as a blanket unless it was a Summer month. I had lost myself in my thoughts as I usually did on days like this, with nothing better to do than spend time with Loki and think about things. My thoughts were centred around myself and the common life question; Who am I? This sent my mind into a rambling spiral of hypotheses...

"Fire. I know I am fire for the way it rages within me. The flames lick around my vocal cords when I sing, igniting my breath with passion and warmth. The low tones I murmur when we're in bed, the beautiful friction we create. I am fire for the way I burst out with accumulated energy. I am in need of fuel for my expansion and when I am at my highest, I rage."

"I am a mystery. I hide behind a devilish smile and soft brown eyes. There is an innocence to the unknown but also a fear that it might be frightful. My ideas are dark and messy but calculated. I enjoy the surprised look on other carbon forms face when they realise they've underestimated me. Many a practised smile has fallen upon these lips. A gypsy. I've been in almost every class of social status from homeless to societal-pillow-princess."

These thoughts went on for a while until a sudden sharp pain interrupted my trance. It's obviously time for breakfast. I looked down lovingly at my gorgeous Loki, "Let's get you some kibs, fool."

My thoughts trailed off again as I started preparing my prince his gourmet meal. Truly it was just kibble and gravy. I got cuddles nonetheless.

Good human.
