Alicia's journey begins

The storm was raging, and the waves were tossing my little boat around like a toy. I gripped the tiller with both hands, trying to keep the boat from capsizing. I was drenched from head to toe, and my clothes clung to me like a second skin. Lightning flashed, and thunder roared, and I could barely hear myself think. I was so scared, I thought I might die out there on the open sea. Suddenly, I saw a huge wave towering over me, and I knew I was about to be swallowed up by the sea.!!! Just as the wave was about to crash down on me, I saw a dark shape looming in the water. It was a ship, bigger than anything I had ever seen. The next thing I knew, I was being hauled onto the deck, and a man was wrapping me in a blanket. "You're safe now," he said, his voice deep and reassuring. I looked up at him, my heart pounding in my chest. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with dark hair and piercing blue eyes. He smiled at me, and my heart skipped a beat.As I took in my surroundings, I realized I was on a pirate ship. The crew were a motley bunch, with scars and tattoos covering their bodies. They were laughing and joking with each other, completely unconcerned with the storm raging outside. The captain, a man with a hook for a hand, strode over to me. "What's your name, lass?" he asked, his voice gruff. I hesitated for a moment, then said, "My name is Alicia." "Well, Alicia welcome aboard, " he said. "Now, let's get you something to eat and drink. You must be starving after your ordeal." I was indeed starving, and I gratefully accepted the food and drink that was offered to me. As I ate, I thought about my new life and what lay ahead. I knew it would be full of adventure, danger, and perhaps even love.
